The tong shu for 2012 will only be out in 2011 7th lunar month.

The only way to beat the competition and book venues ahead of others will be using Bazi to calculate. Guess Weixiang already helped me to explained most of the stuff

To be frank, booking of wedding venues now is unlike last time 1 year ahead will do. Now is 1.5yrs to 2 years ahead. If you are going to wait till the tong shu for 2012 come out, by then all the venues for popular hotels for weekend dinner banquets will be gone . You just have to settle for weekdays or less popular hotels. Take for eg..the tong shu for 2011 is not even out yet till now, but i can tell you that more than 90% of the popular hotels are already fully booked for their weekend dinner banquets for 2011. The leftover dates are normally the really bad ones that most won't choose. How i know? Coz most of my clients going for dinner banquets have problems booking it now. So by the time it is out, unless you are very lucky, if not, you will have a really hard time sourcing for a venue if you are doing a weekend dinner banquet

Can i just check for your service on “Wedding Dates Selection†, do you use Bazi or just general Tong shu?
Because i am thinking of just doing a simple ROM somewhere next year and the traditional banquet to be pushed a year or so later.. so the Eternity Package seems a little too much~

Hi Rebecca,

All my wedding dates are selected using Bazi. You can check back previous threads for my postings on this. In brief, Bazi is specific to both of you. Tong Shu is for mass consumption only and very general, not accurate. Think abt it. Tong Shu says today is a good date for wedding. Does it mean it is good for everyone in the whole world? Logic will tell you it is not possible. Everyday there will be someone good and someone bad. The only way to determine this will be using Bazi. A good date in tong shu can still be deemed inauspicious if the date and bazi are not compatible.

You don't have to take the Eternity pkg, just wedding dates will do. If you want more info, pls drop me an email at [email protected]

Ya, that's why i was thinking is abit too late to wait till the tong shu to be out. As im not very sure abt all these stuff and heard ppl saying that gt to wait for tong shu. But now i noe there is actually another calculation of the wedding dates using Bazi. So is this calculation suppose to be more accurate than the tong shu? Will the final wedding dates calculated using Bazi falls under the common auspicious dates as indicated in the tong shu when its out?

Btw, what are the info needed for the calculation using Bazi? Understand that there is only contact no and email in the website so where do we go for the consulting?

(2) which lunar months do we need to avoid? I heard that lunar month 5 is not good for rat, 8 is not good for rabbit, 12 is not good for goat. Is it true? How serious is it since we currently decided on choosing date in lunar month 5 2011.

Hi DovMal,

Bazi method is the right and authentic method to select a wedding date. The tong shu is just a general date selection only. Think abt it...if a tong shu says that a particular day is good for wedding, then the whole world is good for wedding? Logically this already doesn't sound right or convincing. There will still be someone good and someone bad on that day, and the only way to determine that is to check and analyse both your bazi to determine if that day is specifically good for both of you.

by right since the groom is a rooster... Lunar year of 2011 (rabbit) is not a good year for marriage as it is rabbit year. It clashes with rooster, once it clashes, that lunar year is considered not good.

why do i know, coz David highlighted to me.. checking online verifies this as well...

for me, my AD is in Jan 2011, its before the lunar year of Rabbit 2011... hence, its fine...

DovMal, if you need detailed reading... you will need to engage David's services.. chargeable for a small fee of $100. He will generate the dates and etc by doing a reading of your bazi...

in fact, all these have been discussed and repeated many a times in this thread.. =) hope it helps.

Bazi date calculation overrides the Tong Shu. Hence, you don't have to match the tong shu. I will answer more about this in the next thread below, answering DovMal's thread, hence read below.

Weixiang is right. If groom is born Rooster yr, 2011 is not a good yr for marriage. 2012 will be better.

As for which lunar month you need to avoid, this can only be determined using Bazi (ie your birthday and time of birth), not the Animal zodiac sign. That is wrong, very wrong. So what you heard or read is all wrong

Yes, Bazi is enough to tell everything, which is why in Authentiic Date Selections, there is no need at all to use the Tong Shu! No matter for what purpose, not just wedding dates. For eg, if you move house or start reno and use a tong shu to choose this day, 90% you will be wrong, and worse still, if you reno on a wrong timing, there will be repercussions. The tong shu date did not factor in the occupants bazi as well as the house direction. Every yr, there are some directions that cannot be touched (ie not reno allowed). Eg for this yr, North is considered San Sha, very bad sector. If you reno without choosing a date (or just a tong shu date), and if you happen to reno on a wrong timing, over the next 4 months, you will get a least 3 bad things happening to you or your family. I've seen enough real life cases to tell you lots of stories about this. Many suffered from major health problems such as cancer or even death coz of this. Yes, it can be that powerful, so don't underestimate it.

For wedding dates, using the animal signs is just like using animal zodiac astrology to read a person's destiny. Very superficial only. To decipher a destiny, the birthday and time of birth has to be taken into consideration. For selectiong of wedding dates, tong shu date is not enough. Only by factor in the Bazi wlll you truly be able to tell if that day is specifically good for you or not. Without the bazi, and using just tong shu alone, is a very superficial way of date selection.

Hi teo,

That is a very bad date for wedding. It is a "Po Ri", or "Sui Po". Normally we won't choose this day for any impt activity, including wedding. You cannot avoid or minimise the negative effects as date selection is a form of astrology. You cannot change the position of the stars by wearing certains things etc etc. By right, you should not choose this day from start.

I like to seek your advice on selecting a right Feng Shui Matrimony Mattress.

Question 1:
If the favourable element for my fiancee and me is water, is it true that a metal or water bed is good for us?

Question 2:
But some said that water bed is NOT considered to be a good feng shui mattress choice as the water element in these mattress is considered to be too strong. Is this true?

Question 3:
While a metal bed such as those with springs, according to the Feng Shui philosophy is not a good option too as metal will conduct electomagnetic fields and will disrupt the flow of positive energy. I think this is true, am I right?

Question 4:
Hence, the most highly recommended type of Feng Shui mattress is the foam mattress. Foam allows the most consistent airflow to the body during sleep and is considered to be the best choice for optimal energy flow. One of the reasons foam mattresses are more pleasing to the Feng Shui practice is that unlike the spring or water mattresses, foam does not conduct electricity. Electricity isn’t useful in getting a good night sleep and can interfere with the flow of positive energy and chi. Is this true?

Finally, I like to find out what is your advice for a good and right Feng Shui mattress for people whose favourable element is water and do you agree with the above feng shui mattress view.

Wendy, Jan 2012 is still Lunar Rabbit year. its not good for roosters to get married..

I am a rooster, my wife is a rat like you. We are getting married in Jan 2011 (tiger year).

Yes Weixiang is right. For those born in Rooster yr, it is a bad yr for marriage, not matter which method you use to choose a date (tong shu or Bazi). Hence you should ideally avoid 2011. Just postpone 1 more month (after 4th Feb 2012) and you will be in the Dragon yr.

In any case, 1st Jan is a super bad date. Avoid at all cost even for those not born rooster yr.

Firstly, Bazi elements has nothing to do with the real physical elements. That is commercialised way of doing destiny reading..clearly reflects the amateurish approach by that master. Let me ask you. Since your favourable element is water, so you must drink lots of water everyday? You must buy Sentosa Cove houses? You need to swim everyday? What if those people whereby water is unfavourable to him? He cannot drink water at all? He got to stay in the desert? What if he needs Fire? he got to suntan daily? What if he needs Wood? He got to stay in the forest and sleep on a Wooden bed?

I hope you get what i trying to tell you. The elements in a Bazi is Qi (or energy). It is the NOT the tangible things that you can see or touch. If for eg, you need water and water in your Bazi represents your children, then you got to give birth soon, have kids, and kids will bring you good luck. This is how REAL Bazi solutions comes about and how real Destiny reading should work.

And whatever the bed made of, this is science and technology. It has NOTHING to do with Feng Shui. Yes i agree that different bed made of different material may affect health or maybe more suitable for one, but unsuitable for another. But this has nothing to do with feng shui. I am no bed or mattress expert here, so i can't advise you what bed to buy. You can easily research via internet and make a decision.

But what i am going to tell you is that Authentic Feng Shui relies on location and direction only. What is really important is the location of the bed within your bedroom and direction where it faces. Every houses is different is is dependent on the house feng shui, not Bazi. If the bed location and direction is wrong, you can buy a $10 million bed and you will still get tons of health or wealth related problems. If your bed location and direction is correct, a cheap reasonable mattress will still bring you good health and wealth luck.

Feng Shui nowadays is shrouded with too much superstitions and misconceptions by commercialised masters. This is not what real feng shu is suppose to be. Real feng shui is "invisible to naked eye". There is no products, no feng shui ornaments, no jades, no crystals...when your friend come to your home, no one suppose to know you fengshui-ed your house before. This is Feng Shui at its highest level, not turning a house into a temple or Chinese museum! I hope I answer your question

I'd like to seek your advise for suitable traditional marriage dates in 2011.

We're planning to have our solemnisation on 14 February 2011, would this be a suitable date for us?

I've one last thing to clarify, as my fiance's mum mentioned that it's not good to have the traditional marriage in the first half of the year as each month is not a good month, and advised that the later half of the month is better. Is this true?

Hi Teo,

For Oct/Nov 2010, here are some general tong shu good dates for wedding:

- 20/10, 12/11, 14/11, 17/11, 25/11

Note that both your bazi is not taken into consideration yet. A good date in the tong shu can still be considered inauspicious if the date and bazi are not compatible. Tong Shu is meant for mass consumption only and provides only very general information, which is insufficient

14th Feb is still within the 15 days of CNY, and normally we don't hold wedding during this period.

That is not true at all. It is just a Chinese superstition and there are 1001 superstititions. Worst thing is, everyone says different things. There is no logical basis for this. So rest assurred it will not affect your marriage. The only reason i can think of if you want to follow this superstition is to please your in-laws

By right, siblings should not get married within the same yr. If you cannot do it, it must be at least 3 months apart, this is the min. we can do.

And yes, by right, you must get a new bed for your wedding. Of course, if you want to follow "by left", some just change mattress or bedsheet. This is just our chinese customs for wedding. It won't affect your marriage or fertility etc. Hence whether to choose "by left" or "by right" is entirely up to you. If you ask me, of course i will prefer to follow the "by right" version

April is Qing Ming, hence not advisable to use

May dates: 11/5, 12/05, 24/05 (rest of auspicious May dates clashes with you or your parents)

Note that bazi is not taken into consideration yet. Hence all the dates above can still turn out to be a bad date if the date and your bazi are not compatible.

Yes those born in Rooster yr are not suitable to get married in 2011 Rabbit yr and Rabbit and Rooster clashes.

Impact will depend on your Bazi. If a couple's bazi has bad marriage by destiny, then the clash (ie getting married on a bad day) will have a negative impact on the marriage by aggravating it.

the tong shu for 2012 will only be out next yr this time, hence if you are looking at general dates only, you can only find out the good dates 12 months later.

Right now, the only way to do it will be using Bazi to calculate and i've already done so for over 80 couples for 2012 and the hotel is not even open for bookings yet. To be frank, if you are to wait for the tong shu to come out, most of the weekends dates will be wiped out by then (just now the 2011 dates now).
