Hi snail00,

Here are the analysis of your dates:

10th Sep 2010 - Clash to Snake. Avoid this day.
15th Oct 2010 - Not a general tong shu day for wedding
22nd Oct 2010 - Not a good day for wedding
5th Nov 2010 - Not a general tong shu day for wedding (can be overridden by Bazi if date is compatible with Bazi)
12th Nov 2010 - General auspicious tong shu date for wedding
19th Nov 2010 - Not a general tong shu day for wedding (can be overridden by Bazi if date is compatible with Bazi)
26th Nov 2010 - Clash to Dog. Avoid thid day.

Hence, only 12th Nov 2010 is a general tong shu day wedding.

Hope this helps

Hi Jasmine,

Yup date selection is a complicated process and this is only tip of the iceberg. If you go by Bazi method, which is more precise (but ensures a specifically good date for both of you), it will be even more complicated!

Here are some dates you can use in 2010 (not easy to choose your dates coz too many clashes, which is why not many dates left):

05/07, 10/07, 22/07, 12/09, 24/09, 06/10, 11/10, 23/10

Hope this helps

Hi mymelodygal,

11/09 is not a general tong shu date for wedding

18/09 is a good general tong shu date for wedding. Auspicious time for fetch the bride will be 9am - 10.59am.

Note that this is a general tong shu good day only. It does not ensure a good date yet as the Bazi for both of you is yet to be taken into account. FYI, an auspicious date in the tong shu can still be deemed inauspicious for both of you if the date is not compatible with both your Bazi.

Hope this helps

Hi Denise Teh,

18 March 2011 will clash to Tiger. Hence you can't use this day. I won't be able to advise you general tong shu dates for 2011 now as the tong shu for 2011 will only be out next yr around 7th lunar month. Hence the only way to do it now is using Bazi to calculate.

For ROM, you can use the following general dates in 2009:

13/12 (9am - 10.59am), 25/12 (5pm - 6.59pm), 31/12 (3pm - 4.59pm)

Hope this helps

Hi Denise,

Yes siblings should not get married on the same yr (ideally should be 12 mths apart). But some "cheat" by doing it in different calendar years and at least 3 months apart. I guess in your scenario, someone have to give in, if not it will surely clash. And you can't ROM in 2010 (after 4th Feb) coz your are born in yr of monkey.

Thank you for the advice Master Tong, will there be good dates for us to ROM in Jan 2010 instead, if we do not want siblings to clash.

Hi gwen19,

So long as you are staying inside, the Qi will affect you.

Most importantly, you must do Feng Shui before you start your renovation or get your contractor or ID to design your house. Once you've done up your house's reno, and if there is a need to change due to major problems with the feng shui of your house, you will have a headache again.

Hope this helps

Hi Rach,

Yes Monkey is not suitable to get married in 2010 as Tiger and Monkey will clash. Avoid if possible coz the groom will clash with Tiger year. However, since the bride is born in 1981 Rooster year, 2011 Rabbit year is not a good year for the bride coz Rooster and Rabbit clash.

2012 will be the best choice in this case (if you are not in a hurry!), else 2009 (but it will be too rush for you)

I know this will be a big big headache for you. So do think about it first and let me know.

Hope this helps

Hi Master Tong,

understand that direction of the main door & master bedroom location are 1 of the most important things to consider when slecting flat.

just wondering, can anything be done if the main door is not in the ideal fend shui direction?

His ROM will be on 28 Oct, that means I can only pick dates after that? But my sister's baby is due on 2 Feb, will that clash too?

Hi Master Tong,

Is it ok to take our wedding photo shoot during 7th month? According to chinese calendar, it state that that 26/8/2009 clash with those born in year of rooster. Should I avoid this date for photo shoot.

Hubby: Born in Year of Rooster in 1981.

Would appreciate your advise , please. Thanks

Hi Master Tong,

Thank you for your advice.

I need to know next year's good date for customary. I plan to have it during Sep-Nov 2010.

Groom: Tiger (1974 - 2nd lunar month)
Groom's dad: Rooster (1945)
Groom's mum: Ox (1949)

Bride: Rooster (1981 - 5th lunar month)
Bride's dad: Tiger (1950)
Bride's mum: Ox (1949)

Do I need to avoid birth month of myself and hubby? or even to avoid both side parents birth month when choosing customary date?

Thanks.

Hi Bling,

For Oct-Nov 2010 wkends, here are the dates:

- 23/10, 14/11

Only these 2 dates available for wkends. The rest all clashes and hence cannot use. Note that this is a general tong shu good date for wedding only. It does not ensure a good date yet for both of you as the bazi is yet to be taken into account and a good date in the tong shu can deemed inauspicious for both of you if the date selected is not compatible with both your Bazi.

Hope this helps

Dear Master Tong,

Thanks for your advise. Gosh, its really depressing to learn that none of the dates chosen is a good date.

1) In your opinion which are the auspicious dates (saturday) for holding customary ceremony?

2) What are the dates in year 2010 ( before 04 Feb 2010) that are suitable for ROM?

Groom: Monkey
Groom's Mum: Rabbit
Groom's Dad : Dog
Groom's Brother : cow

Bride : Monkey
Bride's Dad: rabbit
Bride's Mum: cow
bride's brother : dog

Many thanks for your advise and have a fabulous weekend!!

Hi Josky,

You are only partly correct. In Classical Feng Shui, besides the main door and bedroom, the stove location and direction (which is very important and major source of health problems), bed location and direction is also very important. Water placement in the house is a major factor to consider. For eg, if you don't do feng shui, you better not have any fish tank ,aquarium or water feature/fountain in the house. Most of the time you will get it wrong and trigger the negative Qi in the house, causing bad things to happen.

If the main door is not good, for a landed property, yes it is easy to change. But for HDB and Condo, you cannot change the main door location or direction. Hence certain cures have to be used to minimise the problems. But we can only minimise the problems, not to cure it unless you can change the main door location or direction, whereby you can't do it in HDB or Condo.

Having said that, as you can see, it is very important to select a good house before your buy (for HDB and Condo). The main door is a main determinant whether if the feng shui of the house is good or bad. It is very important to get it correct and it will bring you many positive benefits.

Hope this helps.

Hi muji,

Since your brother's ROM is Oct 28, and 3 months apart will mean that it will have to be after 28th Jan and before 4th Feb 2010 (coz this is the first day of the Tiger year).

Only 31st Jan 2010 is a general tong shu date that doesn't clash to any of you or your parents (clash to Pig).

And you can't go to your sister's child birth or full month coz 3 mths before and after your wedding, you cannot attend other people wedding, funerals, wakes and childbirth.

Hope this helps

Hi Joanne Chua,

Yes the tong shu is till 4th Feb 2011. 30th Jan 2011 will clash to Rabbit and since none of you are Rabbit, you can use this general tong shu day.

Whether if it is a good day or not, only by using Bazi calculation can we determine that. A tong shu date is for mass consumption only and very general. A good date in tong shu can still turn out to be a bad day for both of you if the date is not compatible with both your Bazi.

Hi Ling,

Generally if it clashes, it might be a bad day (have to see Bazi to determine that). So just avoid it for safety reasons.

As for taking photo in 7th month, it is entirely up to your comfort level and your parents. This is a superstition that we cannot do it in 7th month, but other races and nationality in the west do not have such culture or beliefs and nothing happen to them. It is us Chinese that have all these beliefs and superstitions.

So, if everyone is ok with it, just go ahead. If anyone objects such as your parents, it is better to please them by avoiding it

Hi Miko,

Here are some dates u can use:

12/09, 16/09, 25/09, 28/09, 07/10, 11/10, 23/10, 12/11, 14/11, 24/11, 26/11

There is no need to avoid birth months of anyone. If you do so, you don't have any months left to get married in!

Hi jacq,

For AD, it depends on which range of months u looking at and i try to find for you some dates in 2010. But STILL, i don't advise doing so even if just AD, coz of the clash.

For ROM before 4th Feb 2010, you can do it:

07/01, 17/01, 19/01, 20/01, 29/01, 31/01

Note that this is just general tong shu dates good dates only and your bazi is not taken into account yet, hence it can still turn out to be a bad day for both of you if the date is not compatible with your Bazi.

Hope this helps.

Hi Master Tong,

Pls advise if the date still suitable for us.

As early June, I given you a few dates for my AD and you mention 02OCt2010 is a date never clash to our both parents.

How ever i read through the forum and you mention that Monkey is not suitable to get married in 2010 as Tiger and Monkey will clash.

Groom: 23Jan1981 (Monkey/Rooster)
Mother: Rooster
Father: Snake

Bride: 20May1984 (Rat)
Mother: Pig
Father: Dragon

Appreciate your advice.

Hi Master Tong,

U mentioned earlier that in the year of tiger 2010, it's not advisable for monkey to get married?

I'm really worried coz my hubby is born in year of monkey and we are planning nxt yr customary as we have already ROM for 2 years =(

We have discussed with parents and we are planning 25 Sep 2010 (sat) instead. Is it a good date for us?

Any advise? Any area that we have to take notices like timing and traditional matters to avoid or aware?

Does sisters and brothers team member's year of born affected the couple's wedding? Or any one born in certain animal year should avoid? Heard alot but not sure what is true and who is right?

Groom: Monkey (Sep 1980)
Groom's Dad: Dog
Groom's Mum: Monkey

Bride: Dog (Oct 1982)
Bride's Dad: Pig
Bride's Mum: Goat

Thanks in advance !

Hi R&A,

Yes since your htb is born in year of the Monkey, best is not to carry out your ROM/AD in 2010. If possible, try to do it in 2011.

For 02OCt2010, the tong shui is out now and this day is not a good general Tong Shu date for wedding (though it doesn't clash but that is only the first layer of filtering).

Hope this helps

Hi JoSky,

I am sure you will learn something out of it. It will be a very different type of feng shui seminar if you ever listen to one before. My aim is that at the end of the short seminar, you will understand what is fact and what is superstition, whether if it is about feng shui, Bazi or wedding dates selection/customs. This is probably the first time someone ever conducted a feng shui wedding seminar of this nature.

We will be limiting the no. of participants to about 50 people this time round and it is nearly full house now. We might consider having a second session if there are interest and demand for it.

Looking forward to see you there too. Remember to say "hi" to me

Hi mymelodygal,

Yes your hubby is born in yr of monkey, so 2010 is not a good yr for him to get married in. If possible, best to do it in 2011. Even if you don't use Bazi method, when you open up the tong shu, it will list Monkey as "Xiong"" every single day in 2010.

Now, for 25th Sep 2010, you cannot use this day. This day will clash to Monkey again, which is your hubby and his mum. Double impact since the year already clash. Make sure you don't use this day if you still want to proceed in 2010.

Yes for the Xiong Di and Jie Mei, depending on the date you choose eventually, every day there will be a animal sign that clash with the day. So all your Xiong Di and Jie Mei should not be that animal sign.

Timing wise, you will need a time to fetch the bride, but you will need a day first. 25th Sep is a no no day to use (if you still want do it in 2010!).

Look on the bright side, 2011 is just a few months away from Sep 2010, so do consider

Hope this helps.

Dear Master Tong,

I understand that Year 2010 is not a good year for marriage for Monkey, but would you be able to advise when Lunar Year of Rabbit will start in Year 2011? Would it be in Jan or Feb 2011?

Below are the details of our Year of Birth for me and my husband and our parents, and we are originally intending to book our AD somewhere in Novemember, December 2010, so would appreciate if you can advise some dates that would be still good for our AD.

Groom: 1978 (Horse)
Mother: 1951 (Rabbit)
Father: 1947 (Pig) - deceased

Bride: 1980 (Monkey)
Mother: 1952 (Dragon)
Father: 1952 (Dragon)

Thanks so much for your advise!

Hi antzc,

Here are some Nov/Dec 2010 dates you can use:

- 04/11, 12/11, 14/11, 26/11, 08/12, 18/12, 20/12, 26/12

Note that these are general good dates only and the bazi is yet to be taken into account. A good date in the tong shu can still be deemed inauspicious for both of you if the date is not compatible with the bazi.

Hope this helps
