Jini - Thanks for the menu!! Quite comprehensive!! Sure thing, I won't bring it along when I meet Mr Muthu.

You're moving to Europe? Which country? I think Kayla is moving to Europe too.
Jini, Infinite - You know what girls, culture and tradition aside, it does seem like Indian weddings are heaps more expensive than Christian/Catholic ones. I mean, my friend who had a church wedding was lamenting about the cost of the using the church, and the gifts of appreciation to the church helpers (ang pao) - all totalling up to about $500. I gawked. I mean, we are paying a whopping $3000 for the use of the temple alone!! And then, there's all these ceremonies to cater food for, to buy the additionals like the sarees for all these different ceremonies, the prayer items, the ring for the best man, etc.
With the post-wedding thali ceremony, I'm now worrying abt who is going to tie the saree for me. Hee!
Sphire - That's great news with the banquet date. Was there a penalty you had to pay?? I really hope not. Have not done IELTS yet. It wasn't a requirement in the application. Don't know if I'll be asked to take one after I've submitted my application.
Kismet - That's great! Has it been hard for your FH to get a job? How long has it been? My problem is there is no evidence of a marriage at the point of the application because our ROM and wedding will be on the same day. And we are moving to Perth right after the wedding (save for a short getaway to Thailand). But the people at the High Comm recommended that we apply under the spouse visa. And yes, we are doing it ourselves. Not engaging an agent.
Hey, you went to BKK and got 6 pairs of shoes and it's still not enuff??

My fiance and I planning on doing some home decor shopping in BKK after the wedding too. Hope to grab some bargains.
