there will be a wedding held at Hilton this Sunday, you should go down and take a look.

try going there around 5-6 pm to view the set up then can you have a rough gauge.

Will be meeting June this Sun too.

Yup wrote a long demanding list of perks we want.. haha. Hope June wont faint. June told us that the carpet will be changing next mid year. Will definitely be a nice and grand ballroom. : )
My date is not an auspicious date in Hilton's calender. Will be asking June to block the date today if she can give us what we want and we will sign with Hilton...

coz i realli dragged too long for deciding on the venues le. but oso cant help it as my Bf is a cook, so have to gif in to his schedule..
 
hi all, i've been to the 24th floor to take a look. Yep it's nice for wedding too, especially with the pool. But the only disappointment - understand that the toilet will be located one level down (23rd), went to the toilet and i'm shock. The toilet is really run down, it's not a 5 stars hotel should have. I would think it's more for the pool as shower is also attached to it. Any idea will there be any renovation next yr as i'm looking at my big day in Dec 07??

Hi Siew, let me ans on Marcus's behalf.

June gave us 30% parking, food tasting increased to 10 pax. We are taking 35 tables ..

2 nights stay but it will not be a consecutive 2days, the other day will be on Fri or Sat within 2 mths time, reason being Dec is their peak season.. that is the best she can give.


she is not agreeable to helper's room saying that Dec is their peak season. she said she will try her best , can only confirm when it is nearer to my wedding. i was quite upset over this cos my gal frens will not be able to enjoy themselves.

oh, another thing is the LCD projector, they are charging $300 for 2 LCD projector, she is willing to reduce to $200 when i request to give up the 1 yr anni at dinner at their restaurant.

PS: she said if we are having 45 tables, she can give us the 2 nights' stay consecutive...
Siew, is your wedding in DEC? If not, i think u can get better deals for the helpers' room and 2 night stay.

not peak period. I'm looking at Paranoma Room cos Vista and Ballroom taken up. I guess yours is in the ballroom?

blur_angel, I'm also a bit shock by the toilet at 23 floor. When i visited it, some are out of order (with sign pasted on the door). Doesn't look like it's from a 5-star hotel too. Don't know if they will upgrade the toilet. :p

I did not get another night, I took the anniversary voucher instead. *wink*

2 nights stay will be based on a different rate so cannot compare especially when the rate is for 2007, it also depends when you sign the package.

All in all HILTON not much freebies one. And if the rate is lower for the year you have to pay for cockage charge per bottle of wine..for those who paid higher..each table has 1 bottle of wine.

So price lower comes to the same amount cos we need cost in the wine.

As at now the rate has changed so I do not know what other changes they have made to the package.

3rd floor vista and ball room toilet are fine.
23 floor was not in my mind cos the L shape floor plan was not to my liking.

perhaps, it wuld be good to double check if they will be renovated the toilet cos you dun want the guest to be pissed up by the toilet right?

Hi Siew - understand that they will be having some renovation going on next yr for the wall and carpet in the ballroom, not sure about the toilet at 23rd floor. Perhaps we can check with June on that, it's time they do something. Otherwise Paranoma will be good too.

Does anyone here know or got any news on that?

erm.. hilton doesn't give much perks.. what you see in the package is what i get.. i would suggest you list down the things that you need or want them to include in the package.. see whether they can give you or not... =)

just signed up with Hilton for the Paranoma Room..
Went to have alook @ the toilets located @ 23rd floor.. not as terrible as wat others have mentioned in the earlier posts...

I felt that overall the toilets look fine to me and presentable..

we visited hilton today as well.. all cubicles on the 23rd floor toilet serving Paranoma Room are working and clean.

The wedding specialist clarify that the toilets were not working in the earlier thread as they were doing some maintenance on that day. Also, she said that the toilets are cleaned up frequently especially on days when there is a function in Panorama Room..

oh Zenn / Jercey you are looking into the Paranoma Room as well. Guess they might have done somthing to the cleaniness and fix up the toilet etc. Perhaps we have compare it with the toilet at the ballroom or even at the lobby, just very different. It's rather old and not much done up for a 5 star hotel standard for the 23rd floor...the doors seem to us like one we can find in the coffee shop...in fact nowadays even toilet at the market is also very well done up...so standards for a 5 star hotel umm...hee hee hee

Oh... 08 July 07... about 6 mths more to go... Excited? keke.. Which BS did you sign up with? Chose your WG & EG already?

I am not to sure which theme to take... Maybe we will go for the euphoric romance (lilac)... But the seraphic Charm (the one with angel) is very nice too... Guess I will visit hilton again when its nearer to my date to view the actual setup for both themes.. den we will decide.. I guess the theme must also compliment your gowns hor.. =)

i guess you have your point if you were to compare the toilets on the 23rd floor to the rest of the hotel and also it does not look as grand as what a 5 star hotel could have..

however Panaroma room does offer something that the Vista room/Ballroom does not have such as the privacy of having the 24th floor to yourself, having a poolside reception and nite views of the city in the function room.. these are something quite unique...

think end of the day it bows down to individual preference as it is hard to find something "perfect"..

I went to hilton ytd liao. Met up with Rachel.
She is realli kind n patient with me and my bf.

We asked for more things to be thrown in. Mostly can be given but my bf wish to have Free flow of beer and 1 red wine for every table. This one Rachel called me bk today and said is impossible lor.

By juz comparing the coordinators tt i met frm these 2 places, i realli feel tt Rachel did put in effort and the way she speaks to us oso is in a veri gd cust service way. But wad i r'cevd frm Hyatt frm tt particular guy is like yi ge tian yi ge di lor. But my bf thinks tt i insist tt i like hilton and i tinks he like hyatt to the maximum oso.

I feel tt Hilton is much more beter lor. In terms of the choices of nice and exquisite Flavours they got. (provided tt they don change all to edible flavours by next year like Wad hyatt did), their 12 different type of invitation cards is oso very nice. and i love their purple theme. As for Food, my cousin told me tt Hilton food is nice. But lets look at Hyatt again. We are paying about the same price for both Hilton and Hyatt. $720 and $728. Hilton can throw in so many things and yet hyatt cant give me nice flavours oni got edible ones so sian rite, and their cards are oni 2 choices and seriously is super out-dated type to me. As for the ballroom actual set up i cant comment at all as i will oni be goin dwn later with my bf for a look. Then the extra $8 tt Hyatt earn goes where? Hope u all noe wad im tryin to say

Hyatt was one of our choice too. We nearly sign up with Hyatt till we saw Hilton.
Agree with you that Hyatt's cards and the favours are too outdated. The ballroom of Hyatt's are much smaller and has low ceilings.

I was like your husband too. Like Hyatt to the maximum till i saw the deco for a wedding : )

Your FH still insist on holding the banquet there? Somehow I have this feeling that your FH may had some unpleasant experiences with Hilton leh.. That's why he is so insistent on Hyatt... Why not you have a good talk with him...

we are a pair of "kiasu" couple.. AD in Jan'08.. as we have oni 2 weekend dates in mind hence decide to source for venue earlier.. have not confirmed our hotel yet..

considering between Hilton agst M Hotel and Orchard Parade hotel. anybody have any comments to share on them?

M Hotel seem to be giving quite a comprehensive package. At least they are waiving all the corkage charges. Can save alot of money lor. Reviews on food & service seems okie.. The hotel also look very trendy... But I think their bridal suite is the best! Have you seen it? =P

Hello, we are planing to get married in Mar 08. Been to a few hotels. Shortlisted Marriott, Hilton, Orchard Hotel and Merchant Court. These are within our budget Any comments on these hotels so far?

BTW, anybody got recommendation for BS? Got good feedback for My Bridal Room and Sliverlining. What is considered as good package? And what is the BS price range? Thanks for your help in advance!

I have not seen Hilton actual set-up yet. After seeing Hyatt's actual set up i feel tt the place is very cramped lor. but my bf tinks tt hyatt is more branded than hilton. diaoooo And he wants to go dwn again this sat to view their actual set up with another theme - white n purple there.

I loves the purple theme frm Hilton. My bf have nt been Hilton for dinner bfore. so i dun tink he has ani bad experience with them. But frm wad i tink, he comments tt Hilton exterior look old n lok kok.

And the ballroom looks old to him. and he dun like the lobby. He said is somehow similar to Meridien. but oh pls.. Meridien is much more worst right.. But he noe tt i prefer hilton oso. he ask me y i oso cant gif him the reason. He ytd night say if u like hilton Den tk lor. But i don wan him to gif in to me juz bcoz i like hilton. i wan him to c hilton's gd so he will be more gan yuen oso mah.. Ltr if anithing hiccups during my AD in Hilton he sure blame me one. keke am i beri bad or kiasee ?

it sounds like many prefer hilton to hyatt.. may i kow the reason? cos hyatt's location is more centralise and convenient.. i have yet to see hilton's site but i am already in love with hyatt.. wat im scared of is the common failure of hyatt's sound systems

Both hotels are rated 5 stars.. So both equally 'branded'.. I guess Hyatt is more known because of its location in Orchard. =)

Aiyo! Your FH very wrong leh.. How can compare Hilton to LM? That's an insult to Hilton lor! Hilton definitely tons better then LM.. You don't see 'high class' boutiques like LV in LM right? Then again that's your FH's opinion... Hilton will be very upset if they see this thread though.. =P Haha...

I can understand your feelings & situation.. Both parties must be happy with the decision made loh..

Erm, I seriously advice you & your FH to make a trip down to both Hyatt & Hilton to view the ballrooms that you guys are planning to take with the actual wedding set-ups.

Then from there you guys decide. Trust me, the ballrooms does look different when its 'dressed up'. =)

Actually I did consider Hyatt initially.. But I found the ballrooms a lil too 'cramped' up.. Dun like the feeling lor... Also when the ballroom is packed to the max then it would be very hard for us, the guests & the servers to move around.. You know what I mean?

Overal the atmosphere is fantastic and they certainly looked grand....
