you considering this hotel also?

supergal,

oh i see.. is this a new hotel?

just spoke to FH ytd about this hotel. he said we shld be looking at budget 850nett tables.. haizz.. quite sad.

nope..it's has been around for quite some time already..just that it seems be changing their hotel names quite often...

it used to be called Grand Plaza Parkroyal..then become Grand Plaza Park Hotel and then now is Grand Park City Hall...

pple used ot be quite confused between Grand Plaza Parkroyal and the Parkroyal series of hotels at Beach Road and Kitchener Road..

hmmm...$850nett arh..still possible with GPCH for a weekday dinner..and if you sign during their wedding show where there is some cash off the total bill, it will be even cheaper then!

have you met up with their co-ordinators already?

Hi, anyone know when is the next wedding show coming up? During the wedding show, hotel and BS shop will have good package right?

supergal,

on low budget but die die also want to have a saturday wedding. hahaa..

anyway, will check out the wedding show in sep.

nope, have not meet up the co-ordinators yet. =)

Hi peeps!

I am back from my AD at GPCH yest! Eveything was great, the banquet coordinator will help you to see through the entire operations. Most importantly, do get ur helpers to help you to handle any hiccups, especially table arrangements (if any changes in between)..

The turn up rate for my wedding was more than 90%, which was great for a weekday.. No worries at all for BTB who will be holding AD at GPCH.. Enjoy! =D

hi, can anyone email me the wedding package for 2010 wedding dinner...

you can email me at [email protected]..

thanks alot.. when is the next wedding show for grand plaza park royal.. anyone knows?

what should i look out for and things to neg?

Hi Supergal, thank you for sharing the photos.

Cyn, I think the governor suite is more popular than the other 2 suites. The only difference is the outdoor Jacuzzi available only in the governor suite. I have seen from the previous posts that it's subject to availability on the day of wedding.

dzxz, I was told that the food tasting should be 1-2 months before the AD.

Hello Stiobes, do you mind sharing your AD photos?

my pleasure gals..it's always good to share things!
happy.gif

yes, like what dzxz mentioned, i think there are 3 types of bridal suites..just that during the wedding show, i was only brought to those 2...so didn't have a chance to take pics for the 3rd one..and yup, every couple would hope for the governor suite but true enough, we have to pray hard that it's available on our AD!!!

dzxz, have you met up with your co-ordinator to confirm your food tasting date? my AD is at end Oct and i intend to meet him in end July to discuss some details and also, to firm up a food tasting date! not sure if the hotel allows us to do this on a weekend though..cos weekdays kind of tiring..hehehe

oh... thanks everyone...
Im meeting the coordinator tonite.
Im bringin camera and will request her to show me abt the 3 suite.
Hope Im able to view it...
Den i can share the pics for showing

oh ya ladies...am having my AD on nov...when do u gals choose the invitation cards? u gals go to T dragon directly with the contract?

So I pay for all the inviatation cards? but the contract say hotel is gving us 70% right

Hello, I think the choosing of invitation cards would be around 3 months before AD. The hotel's providing invitation cards base on 70% of your confirmed total number of guests (ie. if you have 100 guests, they will only provide 70 cards).

I think more & more people are going to JB to do the printing of cards, as the rate is cheaper.

Hi gals,

reviews for CPGH's veri positive esp on the food.
I am interested in having a wedding lunch, anyone held wedding lunch at CPGH before? Wld appreciate feedback esp on the food, is it as gd as dinner? And are we able to nego any extra perks?

Hapi planning gals!

Hello drizzles54. I saw your thread on recommendation of hotels with good chinese food. Glad to see that you are interested in GPCH! I am not too sure about wedding lunch, but I don't see why there should be any difference in food standard just because the dishes are prepared for wedding lunch. Usually, I think the management should be quite flexible when it comes to negotiating for corkage waiver for red wine & liquor. You may want to try asking for free flow beer, 1 bottle of red wine per table & more invitation cards.

Hi Cyn, I have not tried uploading pictures here before. If you have facebk or multiply, you can upload the pictures there too.

Hi HI anyone knows that Hard Liquor bought from DFS and from airport cannot be brought to hotel right unless I pay for the duties....

Red wine wise can buy from those supermarket no prob right

Hi Cyn, maybe I can try to help u ...

Hi Chocolatepraline,

yea aft yr recc I started reading tis thread...
Hmmm, tis wld be one of my shortlisted venues!

Prob will drop by their wedding show in sept to rackee the place, n hopefully to get more perks

So u have cfm wif them oredi? When is yr AD?

Does anyone know if GPGH allow couple to change their wedding favor to other things? Coz thinking of ordering our wedding favor from outside.

Hello dzxz, you are right. Hotels will only accept duty-paid wine & liquor. You can get from Carrefour or any supermarkets.

Hi drizzles54, the food reviews of GPCH has been positive thus far. I have signed up with GPCH already, & my AD will be in April next year. I really like the exclusiveness of the ballroom as I don't have to share with anyone. The short march-in is good for me as well, as I will find it awkward to walk 'gracefully' in front of so many people. The main thing that prompted me to sign up with GPCH is the 9-course menu, as the dishes are all very presentable.

Yah, the wedding show will be the best opportunity to negotiate for more perks. Looking forward to have you here!

Foods at GPCH is nice... Yummy...
I still can't forget the pumpkin shark fin soup & the deep fried white roll (dunno what it is called) during the wedding show...

hey GPCH BTB,
just to add on some good feedbacks that i gathered from my guests during my banquet last month. My halal guest seems to like the food alot! they commented that its very delicious. our desert was the mango sago with pomelo (something like that), also fetched good remarks. =)
