she just say the lady who quoted my colleague is a new staff and she is willing to lower down the price offered to my colleague.

she didn't acknowledge its her fault or misquotation, just say all along its that rate that was quoted to us.

glad to hear that at least they gave you a better deal in the end! I think the coordinators will still be professional in handling your case no matter what, don't worry too much about it!

btw, we also have the MIA problem with our coordinators, even on the day before the wedding...sigh

Hi Ismiley,

Yah, glad that u had a better deal. Don't take things to heart, else you won't enjoy the prep for your wedding.

I guess dropping an email to your coordinator will help. If she does not respond, approach her other colleagues who can relay your message to her.

Hi Swatch2004,

I always thought that they would contact us before the wedding and not the other way round. Did u get the hp no. of your wedding coordinator? I suppose that be easier to find them in urgent cases?

well, they would contact us when they needed to, but there are times that there are things you want to ask them, or to change some details, then you will need to get them... or when we want to pass time our table arrangement and confirm no. of table kinda thing.

I was technically staying there the two days before my wedding as my parents were from overseas, and i only got to pass my things to my coordinator via the receptionist at the lobby (we tried to reach her but we cannot).

It might be that they have a real busy time ...

i heard fr my coordinator saying tt 2 mths' prior to our AD, they will send us the samples of wedding card.. and 1 mth prior to the AD, they will arrange us to go for food tasting...

HI Oraia,

Yes, it will be the grand ballroom. Have paid the venue a visit, the only downside is the pillar and low ceiling. However, my wife love that place so much. As such, no complain. Generally, i am also quite happy with the venue and the package i got. Cheers

i'm thinking whether to invite more than 25 tables for Hibiscus Room. Seems like there are feedback that it's rather cramped. Any advice?

Charmo,

Hibiscus room can only house up to 28 tables. If you are planning to put up a screen beside the stage to show your photo montage, you have to take away 1 table so that there is enough space for the screen, but then the guest sitting on the other side of the stage may not be able to see the screen.

Therefore, I think 26 tables should be the ideal number.

i had 22 tables, which still leave us some space at the back... so may be 25-26 would be more of an ideal no. if you have 28 tables, it might be a bit tough for you to move around when taking pics...

i'm a ex-hyatt bride, although i didn't take hibiscus ballroom, i love it a lot!

May i ask if u'll be wearing a big ballgown? If not, then it shd be still alright for u to move between 28 tables. Also, wat's your waiter per table ratio? If u intend to top up for 1-to-1 waiter serving, it might be a bit cramped to have so many waiters walking around.

Wat's your estimated no. of tables? If close to 28 or more, how abt considering taking stamford room instead, there's a baby piano there, also very lovely!

As your wedding approaches, your PIL and parents might meet more old frens whom they want to invite, my case also like dat, hee! But then u may have some non-attendence too? Seating arrangement is the most troublesome thing, i remember 1 week b4 my wedding, i had to call up my coordinator everyday (right up to my wedding eve!) to make changes to no. of tables. But dun worry, everything will eventually work out well, your coordinator will be helping u.

Oh, that i can't advise!

If u are inviting only close frens and relatives, then prob they will give u face and all will turn up?

I just remembered i have a colleague who had a similar situation as u, in the end, she invited us to her church wedding and lunch buffet, while her wedding dinner of abt 20 tables was mainly for their relatives. Just to illustrate how u can be flexible like my colleague... if there is really a constraint, i'm sure your frens wouldn't mind not being invited to your wedding dinner. Perhaps u can invite your frens to a simple luncheon instead?

Hi, I'm finally back!
Had been busy with last minute preparations and before I knew it, the day whizzed by. I was overwhelmed by my army of relatives who turned up before the groom fetched me. They even followed me to my in-laws place to observe the tea ceremony and back. They certainly added to the fun, noise and laughter.

The dinner went on smoothly. The banquet manager, Raymond, was very helpful and professional. We left everything to him to guide us through the programme for the evening. The ballroom looked beautiful but my only complaint is that the floral centrepiece for guests' tables were not what we had chosen. We were not even informed before hand till we saw the ballroom at 5pm. Feedback on food and service were good. Hubby and I were too busy to eat and didn't even had any wine (thank god nobody tried to get us drunk). But they heated food from an un-opened table and delivered it to our suite. The Roasted Chicken with Nuts was a hot favourite, something unique and very tasty. So were the pineapple tarts that we gave away as favours. The suite was great too! We were upgraded to the Corporate Suite which also had a dining area and a pantry. Pity that we didn't use the steam facility in the shower.

Only sad thing was that there were so many "friends" who couldn't make it at the last minute. We actually had less guests than our guaranteed numbers so our loss was quite substantial. But we took it in our stride. What's important is that we think it was a simple but beautiful wedding and they missed out!

Gals, remember to savour every moment during the wedding. I wish I could remember more of the atmosphere and ambience at Hibiscus and have more time mingling with friends.

I m currently on a business trip, will come back to Singapore tomolo. I will have to start sending/giving out my invitation card by end of this week. Andy say we have to choose 4 songs - first march-in, 2nd march-in, first dish, and the champagne pouring. Any suggestion fr u gals?

2 months before ur wedding, they will call u to collect ur card n do the printing. We go directly to T-dragon and they allowed us to choose the card that we want.

We will be doing the food tasting within one month from our wedding.

If u worry U might want to check wth ur cordinator.
