Welcome! based on last year's date, it will happen late apr. what i would advise you is that you can write to the coordinators closer to date (end mar/early apr) to book the 'date' and they will usually advise you to come down to the fair to enjoy the discount. do note that you will have to pay, $48 to enjoy the 5 course meal but i promise ( most of us would agree) that it is worth the money..

Guess what I went for my fitting yesterday and it was FANTASTIC!!!

really, it took me 5 hours to look for 6 gowns ( consist of day, ROM, evening and outdr/indoor shots)

it was really nice, the coordinators are professional and they were very patient with me. they explain very nicely to me on the materials - by asking what kind i like, colours.. they also sometimes suggest something which they think it suitable.. since they are experts so i listened and i do like most of their recommendations. i'm surprised at their service and their level of professionalism (i mean i read so many negative reviews)... I brought along some friends too and they were also asking alot of qns and the coordinator bothered to 'entertain'!


muahahaha, i'm a happy bride!
now my job is too lose some weight, make sure no pimple outburst for my photoshoot in may!!

Think GWP's open house is not fixed. In 2009 it was in September, last year it was April. They usually fix their wedding show date at least 3 months in advance in order to advertise in the bridal mags.

Oh one of my cousins who is also getting married in GWP got her dreamweaver card. I saw the invite and noticed that mandarin is printed on the left side, English on the right side, which is a no-no for the elderly folks. Not sure if the dreamweaver guys do advise in that but do take note, esp if your family is more traditional.
 
Jacintha >> Think it's a tradition thing bah. Because if you look at invites, the english is always on the left, chinese always on the right. Also the invite was a bit weird, cuz it opens in the middle, but the invite insert does not open in the middle, but from one side.

So when you open the invite, you will see the insert, which you then have to open again from one end. I thought if you have an invite which opens from the middle, the insert should open up as well. It's a little awkward. By right, since it is a dual fold invite, Dreamweaver should have done it such that the English text is on the wider center panel and the Chinese text on the two outer panels.

Just some points for you to take note... I just collected my invite inserts and I love it, even though it is not as fanciful. Will take a photo to show you guys some day.

she did showed me the sample and i also thought it was weird.. but i really like the design so ill just accept it.. noted and i will request that they print the english on left hand side.

I'm 2011 GWP BTB. So excited to have found this thread with talks about the 2010 wedding show and questions which I needed answers to.

Cocotintin - I agree with what you mentioned about June Florist. I also had a similar experience. Now also thinking if I should spend extra $$ for my flower deco and get my own florist. Sigh.. I didn't know the stage deco flowers are fake coz the ones at the wedding show were real flowers..seems like a lot of things are "top ups" and not what they are offering up front. Feeling a sense of disappointment. I too had higher expectations from a 5 star hotel

Jacintha - Is their guest book plain? Little deco or quality not good etc? Doing DIY for ang bao boxes so am considering getting the book instead.

Lyica - Michelle is a new coordinator at GWP.

you talking about the inserts or the cards designs? if it is the inserts, there are many many different kinds! if it is the card, maybe you can check the post i had earlier? the pictures are all the varities that they offered to me..

i like your gold string too!! but alot of effort hor?

the guest book is plain.. u been to prints? at least prints have some embossed floral design, the one they offer have nothing. just plain... in fact i think prints books are better! apologies, i didn't take a photo... there are about 14 colours to choose from.. from what i see, i think the box is worth more (relative comparsion)

apple, when are you going to meet the dreamweaver person? you should ask for jerine ( she's the boss btw) and her contact should be given to you in the contract.

ps. i love my gowns!! hehehee.
 
Jacintha >> No work at all... at first we also thought need to tie the gold string, but turned out GWP has already tied it nicely for us when we collect the invites, so we only need to slip the inserts under the gold string.

Hey, I'm thinking of a candy bar/desert buffet for my retro theme. Any GWP bride has done it before or planning to do it? I wonder what's the cost like.
 
nykolee: i ever thought of doing a candy bar but if u look at how small the reception area of windsor ballroom is i think u will scrap away that idea. My package comes with a 2 piece musician so most likely i wont have space for a candy bar.

I've not yet been to DreamWeavers yet. My wedding is in July and I haven't done anything much yet lol... still in relax mode. My coordinator also have not chased me.. not sure if it is because too early to chase :P

I too signed up during the wedding show. Btw, do we have a choice of music and when the 2 piece musician will play on our wedding?

With reference to my contract right.. the dessert table is $100++ per table - this consist of 5 different items ( to note no more dessert from the original menu) or $88++ per table for individual plated haagen dazs ice cream...

we have 2 piece musician which they state that it is for a set of 45 mins performance during per-dinner cocktails at the foyer - we have a choice of Clarinet or Electron Keyboard and Spanish Guitar..

oh ya,kass, i didn't pick two colours, because i didn't want anyone to feel different... so long story short, i only picked lilac card and dark purple ribbon..
 
Hi jacintha, mine is a 9 course dinner on sat. If I never remember wrongly the 9th course is the hagen daz ice cream right? Just wondering, does most of the gwp brides decor the reception area? Or just leave it as the classic look?

I am referring to the 2011 designs. Any idea whether they are out already? My wedding is in July 11. Hope to take a look at the new designs before deciding.
 
Jacintha: i think Tan is asking about this year's theme. The design we saw last year during the wedding show was for last year but i'm not sure if we can still choose those designs even after they have launch the new theme. The table cloth and seat covers will still be the same but there will be new floral designs for us to choose from. when i spoke to june florist a couple of weeks back, she told me that she is still working on the new designs and will be ready in Apr.

Hi all, din log in for a long time. So many archives since my last login.

Anyway, I have finally decided on GWP as my wedding venue in 2012. Finally...

However, I have encountered another problem. My coordinator isn't that responsive in his replies after we have told him to draft our contract. We can wait almost for a week before his replies come in. I have not sign the contract with my coordinator yet cos alot of things that he promised are not listed in the contract. Is this common?

I am worried.. I feel very comfortable talking to him but he doesn't respond as much &amp; fast as I like.
 
Lala >> If what is promised is not in the contract, then make them redraft until all the promised are written down.

Let me guess. Your coordinator is Raman? I think you need to call him then. Sometimes calling will help.

Which is same feeling as me during our meet-up. However they encountered the same situation, he doesn't reply to emails that much. Haa.. I'm slightly more relieved after reading this.

Pls correct me if I'm wrong, I need to ensure that my coordinator write every perks he gave me on the contract? He mentioned b4 that there are things he can't include on the contract b'cos of auditing issue. Plus he is supposed to check something for us and we have not got any reply from his side, how to sign the contract?!

He's known for being like that. He was my coordinator at first, but when I couldn't get a reply. I approached another coordinator to take over from him and after checking with him, she took over my account. My coordinator is v different, she replies quite quickly and always contactable on phone. I'm v comfortable with her.

If things cannot be included in the contract due to auditing issue, have it written down then in black and white in a email.

labride: you just need to write an email to him, cc the general enquiry email, then he will reply le.
while he's not responsive in his email, he is very accommodating in person, whatever he can give he will try to give u, in the end those things he can give he will write down one..
 
missbibi >> I went to T&amp;T at JB City Square Level 4. Cheap and good. Highly recommended. They have all the insert samples from all the hotels so you can pick anyone you like and they will modify accordingly.

HI.. I am new here. I am also GWP brides Sept 2011. MY Coordinator is Michelle and she is very good and maybe bcoz i am not tt difficult. Our communication mostly emails and she always very prompt in replying every email

The new florist is engaged and i think i am relieved.. hope the new one will be better. i saw the old florist website and i just don like it. Want to engage other florist for the decoration.

Anyone got a picture of the guest book, ang pao box? i read the review of the guest book... maybe should buy...

And anyoe ever use a Tree Branches to hang pre-wedding picture? or any advice? i want to have a space like a photo galery...

Last time the florists are June Florist and JM Florist. Cocotintin mentioned June Florist is still coming up with the new themes, so I am assuming that June Florist is still 1 of the appointed florists.

How does the guestbook and AP Box look like? I am doing my own AP box right now... also considering doing my own guestbook as well.
 
Kass, when's ur wedding? It's in May right? You seemed to have a lot of things done - decor selected and invite cards printed?

how much did u pay for your printing? So u provided TnT with Goodwood's inserts for printing?
 
Grace - The room you've booked is Windsor or Tudor? I think June florist mainly does Windsor and JM Tudor.

Would be really keen to know who the new florists are

For DreamWeavers, my coordinator told me they have run out of stock for favors and will be restocking soon. Do you think it is too late if I wait till April before contacting them? My wedding in in July 2011. Thanx all xoxox
