Hi Piglet,

Oh... I got the sample cards.

Lol.. this is so embarrassing... I actually didn't believe my co-ordinator when he told me abt the new cards and the fact that we don't have to do the printing with Dreamweaver. YEAH!!!!

Now, we have more choices. Other than the classic reds & white from GWP, we can also choose from cards that comes with thick or thin ribbon. And they come in different colors...

Have you decided which card you going to take? Coz for the flower design, if you need chinese & english, either print on both side (means double printing cost) or the usual 1 fold insert. But this means the guests have to remove the insert and open up themselves. Kinda not convenient loh. My original thought was to use dreamweavers for friends & colleagues, red for relatives. To print only 100pcs for 2 design cost more. in the end only take red.

Hi Piglet,

Errr... I'm a designer. =D so most probably, doing the design and printing myself.

Initially, I wanted cards with design. But, at the point when sign up w GWP, their contract w dreamweavers is that we need to print with them.

Now, with them opening up the option, I can go back to my original plan again. Hehe..

For friends, I guess they only need the english version. For relatives, we can always include an additional 1-sided insert in chinese language. Right?

when you said doing design urself, designing the insert or the card?

yes, for relatives, there are many options - \additional insert (which means 2 inserts now), print double side or 1 big piece of insert & fold it. In anycase, doubling the cost and no more bulk disc. Since you can print yourself, there's no more limitation for u!

lala: I met my coordinator last week. We took a while because we had to decide on things like themes, type of flowers, colour of flowers, 1st dish song, number of microphones needed (i need alot because my band will play for the march-in songs), dishes for food tasting, approximate number of tables etc.

You may like to think about what song you would like for 1st dish because I was only offered James Bond theme and Beauty & the Beast.

my wedding is at GWP this Sunday. Will try to share whatever I can with all of u after this week. Just went for my AV testing last week too. Not sure if you all notice, all 4 projector's resolution is not really the same. Some are darker, some are brighter.

Hi Red, Thanks for the advice! I already got the themes, types of flowers, wedding favors etc from my coordinator and so already decided which to get.

Ok, will note the 1st dish song! We can select our own first dish song as long we bring the orginal CD will do right? We need to cfm first & second march-in song on that day too?

piglet: mine is at windsor.

Actually i did not use original CD during my av testing and they did not say anything. I think they are not so particular about the license thingy.

Lala: Yup whatever songs you want, you should bring along the original CD. If you have a band perfoming any songs then that won't be an issue. I think like cocotintin said u can burn CD/DVD but they did say that if anything happens (touch wood), the hotel won't be liable.

cocotintin: Hope everything goes well for you on Sunday =) looking forward to seeing your photos

Thanks Red. When is your big day ?

Will share more after this wkend.

So far i dont have much problems with my coordinator yet, he is responding to my emails and phone calls very prompt and helping me with every single request with no complaints.

Seems that the perks they give is quite good.. Are u guys able to negotiate for more things like carpark coupons and invitation cards? Anyone of u had ur poolside ROM before ya dinner?

cocotintin: My big day is Sept 4 (Sun) =)

lala: WTB and I initially wanted to use the "Nobody but you" song but we thought it was too common, we still thinking about what song we want.

valentine: So far I think none of us has managed to get more carpark coupons as the carpark is not under GWP. As for invitation cards, they usually give quite a lot. I was given about 200 cards for 25 tables.

My wedding was just over last Saturday. Everything went smoothly. The ambience and food was great. The GWP team did a fantastic job. Dolly from JM florist was constructive with her suggestions and the whole effect was fantastic. Flowers were also very fresh. Overall very satisfied of how the event turned out despite the issues we had along the way to make this all happen.

Hi Apple: Great to know everything went well! So did you top up any from JM Florist? Do you think neccessary to do top up? Heard a lot from the brides abt topping up...

Hi Lala - I topped up extra to include hydrangeas 'coz I love them and they were not part of the standard package. It's really about what you want. You can get quotes from JM florist and decide whether or not its within your budget.

hi all.. my wedding is finally over. My wedding was last Sunday, 24 July. The guest commented that the food was very good and GWP staffs are very good. Their banquet manager, captain and all are good. Have no regrets holding my wedding there.

In fact everything went by so quickly that I didnt had time to digest all that happened. haha.. now can only recap slowly

I have been reading here in the forum that people get to go down to the florist. But how come after I met up with my co-ordinator, she only asked me what flowers we want and colour but didn't mention anything about meeting the florist? Issit voluntary or something? haha

I went for the food tasting last week and the food were yummy but super duper salty. All my family members and my HTB's side all said the food was so salty. My mum said it was so salty that she couldn't sleep and was so thirsty. I am not sure if anyone experienced the same? I am worried if it will be the same for AD.

Already given feedback but this kind of thing so diff to know.

Hi Amryllis,

I went for my food tasting last week too! Guess what, min jiang's fridge was down and i didn't managed to have my ice cream as desserts!

Both families thought that the food was good, it is just that the servings were alittle small. Not salty le.

Jacintha, ice cream as dessert is so nice! I had the yam paste which was very clumpy! Oh no, better hope that the fridge will be ok on our AD! Serving wise, cos we were v full and we are not big eaters, we thought ok. :p

I went for food tasting last week. Overall I would say that the food was "average", normal stuff which u eat at other wedding dinners. The only impressive dish was the garoupa, super big.
The food is a bit disappointing for GWP standard, mine is not the upgraded menu so I guess I also can't expect much. My WTB and I have been seeing a lot of ppl mentioning that the portions are big over here in the forum but during our food tasting the portions seem to be normal, not big.

My menu was not the upgraded menu too but I had alot of goof reviews for the food during my wedding. Food tasting was great too. I chose promfret and it was fresh and huge. The smoke duck was rave by so many guest and i personally love it. I dont find the food overly salty, it was good for me. But for cantonese food, it tend to be abit more salthy i think

Red: My photos are not ready yet but if u are looking for photos from my food tasting i do have some in my iphone. R u interested in the food or the ballroom set up?

Hi cocotintin. Thanx for sharing. I manage to contact anthony. He reply very fast.
happy.gif
) Care to share ur pics with me?
Thanx! Did u have solemnisation at goodwood on the same date as well?

Hi Valentine, I have not received my official photos from my photographer yet. I did not do my solemnisation in gwp.

What kind of photos do u want? i might be able to dig out some loose photos i have that were taken by my friends etc.

Red: My ballroom decor is not done by GWP, i brought in my own florist so maybe in this aspect might not help u much. I will share photos of the food soon.

Hi cocotintin.. Did u manage to exchange the complimentary floral deco to smtg else when u engage ur own? Which florist is it anyway? And how much they charge? Im looking at simplyflowers. Price quoted 2.5k.. Is it reasonable?

Can kindly share with me ur AD ballroom setup and also the food picss. Wanted to know how is there presentation. Are all the dishes individually served?

Package includes. Staircase side floral arrangements. Medium candle stand x2. Short candle stand x2. Floral stands mid height x6. 250 chairs tie with ribbon n flowers. Reception table deco. Ive not decide on type of flowers so may have additional charges. They state that any lost items consider sold. So im wondering how am i able to stop my guests from meddling with the deco. Abit ridiculous. How much extra bottles of wine u have. Anyway u can try multiply? Sorry for the trouble..

i will try multiply tonight. i cant access it in office. sorry for the wait.

Jane is not an easy person to work with, she was one of my short listed florist but end up i did not confirm her because her response to my email was freaking slow and doesnt seem interested in my project. Anyway, 2.5k seems reasonable but i dont understand why u need so many candle stands, and floral stands. floral stands are for the aisle? and what abt the candle stands?

GWP gave me another additional 11 bottles of wine if i am not wrong. Cant recall but its abt there. What did they offer u?

Hey coco, to make your photos smaller you can try opening the photos with Microsoft Office 2010 or other editing programs. These programs shd allow you to shrink your photos so that the dimensions will allow you to upload over here. Hope that helps =)
