Hi Kass, during your wedding, did you feel that the aircon was too weak or so? My HTB & I felt that the Windsor ballroom aircon is kinda warm as guest. Not sure if it's coz we're seated at the most corner of the ballroom. Also, the recept outside Windsor is also warm ya? Not blasting cool...
Hi Red, no prob, i've taken pictures anyway. It's a waste that you didnt go, this explains why the show cost $68 this year

Talk about enhanced decor! I didn't go for the GWP wedding show last year too cuz I was already pre-empt by my coord that the decor was upgraded, hence I didn't wanna go, in case see already, insist that I want. Hahah.

Just to dispel some misconceptions from the above pictures
- Tudor ballroom reception: everytime there was a dinner there, the reception table is always inside the doors, I've never seen it outside, and don't think GWP will allow cuz it's a main thoroughfare within the hotel and GWP won't want ppl to mingle outside.
- Bridal suite: No rose petals for me, only the cheesy towel swans.

Re aircon - for all the weddings I've been I think it is okay, not very hot leh, but then I am one who gets cold easily, so may not be the best judge.

With old hotels such as GWP, cannot expect blasting cool aircon like what we have at home, as their AC systems are built into the structure (which was built eons ago), it's v hard for them to change aircon like how we do it at home. Not sure how you can fix it though, but have to understand why the aircon may not function as well as how our air-conditioned nation is used to. We want old hotels, have to live with some of the old hotel idiosyncrasies. Can also be the lighting in the ballroom on the day itself? Cuz there is a lot of ppl and also got fashion show, so I assume there was a lot of spotlights.

Just curious on the favors offered, any idea what are those top right items? Starting from the far right Suite case looking thing, envelope-look alike and the ball thing (top center)? Thanks.

Hi nykolee, I used June florist. I went to the nursery to have a look at the pictures as the ones provided by my coordinator were not so clear. I also thought it would be better to communicate with the florist directly. The lady was pretty nice and patient, despite that I reached the place after her working hours. I seeked her opinion on some arrangements, and I was also able to change some minor arrangements (like replacing the leaves with another kind, having two colours of roses instead of only one, and topping up money for my hydrangeas etc).

Wow the wedding show menu items look very expensive. Does the new $1,288++ menu include all these items? That would explain the increase in table price from 2011 to 2012.

Piglet: yes my guests n myself found the aircon weak. Those guests wearing blazers took off their blazers halfway thru. Even I normally is afraid of being cold felt hot in my evening gown.

Nyko: i used June too. She was v nice to suggest flowers to fit my theme colours n without any extra charge. I even selected a backdrop tt wasn't part of goodwood's selection cos I preferred it more than wad was given for our selection.

JM Florist's themes are shitty. I am aghast by the themes they offer. Have u all seen? OMG. It's a scheme to ask us to top up more. Really terrible.

Sorry... I think this is a repeated question. when you received your wedding card (assuming u are taking GWP's default cards), does it comes with a blank insert inside? Or is it just the card?

hehe... another question. For those that have done their wedding, are the centerpiece for normal table available throughout the dinner? From some of the photos i gather online, they seem available throughout. Can anyone confirm this?

Nope. For the normal tables, they are removed just before march in, so that dishes can be served on the lazy susan. For VIP tables, they are left there throughout due to individual plating.

I see a lot of people here in the forum talking about themes. My wedding is in Sept. Should I chase my co-ordinator to ask about themes now? Or will my co-ordinator automatically email me closer to the date?

Any advice would be great thanks =)

Lala: If I'm not mistaken, the perks mentioned by chewychiu will be given to you if you pay for the updated price per table

Red, when are you having your food tasting? I'll be discussing with my coordinator abt themes, wedding favors, deco etc just b4 my food tasting, which will be 2 months b4 my wedding. Yours is in early Sept, quickly ask your coordinator bah! You may need to visit the florist too if you have any special requests.

piglet: My wedding is on Sept 4th, we have booked food tasting to be on July 27th. Too bad that they only allow food tasting to be from Mon-Wed. Ok so I guess it's a good time to discuss with the coordinator before or after food tasting. Thanks for the advice =)

piglet: Ya... I'm wondering if I were to get the hongbao box from dreamweaver, do I get to keep it. Are the hongbao box from dreamweaver similar to the hotel?

Did anyone get the guestbook from Dreamweaver/GWP. How do they look like?

wow looks like the new menu has alot more variety and the food sounds delicious.

My wedding is in 2.5 weeks time and I'm getting my AP box from dreamweavers. I believe that the AP boxes can be kept by us. The guest book is the foldable kind. quite normal looking from those sold outside.

Lala: Looks like I won't be having my theme discussions on Jul 27th but this weekend instead. My co-ordinator automatically asked if we will be available this weekend to meetup for discussion. I was also sent pictures of the themes available. Overall, I think they look similar to other banquets I have been to. I think I remember hearing about having the option to top up to have nicer themes. Anyone can share about the costs and more details pls? =x

I got the gold flip page guest book with rose motiff. Didn't fancy their AP boxes. Has anyone spoken to JM florist yet? Any feedback on them and their new themes?

Red - What do you mean by top up for nicer themes? The top up is for additional items or are they totally different themes from romance, crystal, garden or oriental which are choices from the default package?

apple: Actually I also not sure top up for what.. I only see some BTBs mention over here that they want to top up but I'm not sure for what =x haha.. That's why want to clarify..

From the pictures, I prefer crystal too! I guess i like more flowers on the stage.

I went to dreamweavers today. They say we can keep the ang pow box from them.. But the design is not confirmed with GWP yet.

piglet: I'm asking Jasvy to print for us. Normal printing (no hot-stamping) costs $100 for 200 copies and $0.20 for each subsequent piece after 200.

Hmm I thought the garden theme has more flowers than crystal

Nykolee, I think you're referring to those offered by dreamweavers?

GWP still maintains its classic Red & White cards.

I actually liked the offwhite flower design with red ribbon. But the envelope is in off white too. Would definitely take that if envelope is in pink. I end up taking all red classic. Coz white classic comes in white envelopes.

That's correct. This year, it's no longer compulsory to print with dreamweavers. From the pictures, the insert which has a tree with pink flowers cost $1.8 per piece to print loh, coz it's 4 colour.

OMG! I'm so amazed... I really can't believe GWP allows this... They are so fantastic! Ican't help to love them more!! lol...

Hi Piglet, from the image, I see 2 design. One is with thick ribbon, the other one is with thin ribbon. I'm assuming both are new design. Right?

Btw, which one is the red classic?

I'm assuming all invitation cards comes in white envelopes. Right?

red classic is not in the picture, coz that's from GWP themselves, not from dreamweavers. The red classic just a normal red card which opens on the right (1 fold), with gwp logo at the front page if i'm not wrong. I'm going to collect my cards this weekend.
