OinkOink,
I dun think DG will allow chocolate + keychain to be wedding favour. Think ur friend must have top up to have both.

DG is rather "meow" when come to bargain.

Hi iamme,

Mine is on 29th Dec. Now still searching for our home sweet home. Most probably will get a resale one as we want to stay nearer to our parents.

HI BJ, ya lo esp now the new flat are either at ulu place or snapped before you can get queue no. haha.. The only bad thing about resale is the reno, so many things to hack and change. (maybe cos i bought a 30 yr old unit) A word of advice, try to bring cash over valuation as low as possible so that you can have more cash for reno.

Hihi,

Oh really, then my friend could have top up... well, I think just a souvenir would be good enough. Frankly speaking, I don't really like Praline chocolate.. hehe

Hi Sharon,

Just last week i asked DG. They said they only provide Halal food for a whole table with all muslim. If for individual one, we have to go for the vegetarian. However, some of my muslim frens would prefer not to eat and sit with those chinese frens that they knew than to tk vegetarian food.. Abit headache on this issue.. =S

anyone know how much per table for wedding for this yr?

Am curious because I just attended one last few weeks. The menu look delicious but it turned out....

The waitress attended to my table is friendly though..but am surprised DG dun provide extra set of cutlery. I requested for change of cutley after feeding my ds and instead of giving me a new set, she washed them... ????

I am so disappointed with DG!
kao_frustrated.gif
The food served in my AD sucks.. I receieved many complains that the shark fins, no fins no taste and full of starch, the fish not fresh, the veg too salty and the chicken not nice. Totally different from the food tasting even at the VIP tables.. We have got friends and relatives coming from HK, Spain and Malaysia specially for our wedding and that was the type of food served, such disgrace.. Lucky I was too busy to eat anything that day and heard the feedbacks only after my AD if not it will definately spoil my big day!

Called them to ask for explaination but they only say sorry and offered to treat us high tea! Like I care for that $20 over high tea. I paid 47 tables of the 2nd most ex menu, how many meals of high tea also not enough to cover the shame..

I know I can't demand them to do anything else but I can warn forumers and friends to think twice about getting them.. As a restuarant, service is not as good as hotels but if the food is also lousy I really see no point hold banquet there.. BTB who considering them think think think again...

Hi Axel & Jes

I just held my wedding recently at DG. I haven't heard any comments about the food yet nor any on the service from my guests as yet.

Personally I love the prawns.. =p (the quality was the same as when we had our food tasting), the rest I can't say much cos I did'nt get to eat anything else.

I recommend you to seek out Eric, the assistant manager, he was very approachable throughout the wedding preparations. Do give him a call if you choose DG. =)

Hope the info helps! Take care!

Hi gals,

I'm holding my wedding dinner at DG on 24/10/09 in the small ballroom but the march in is from the side and not from center. Both mum not very agreeable. Anyone tried the small ballroom and side door march in? How is it like? Can everyone see?

To be frank i encounter quite a few couples cancelling their wedding package at Dragon Gate. Can i know is there any specified reasons? Can share?

Due to some family issue, i'm postponing my wedding to either end next year or 2 years later. That's why i'm "selling" off my package.

Hi all

DG was taken over by Ban Heng July this year. Anyone had their wedding there during this period? Can share their views on their services, food and package?

Thanks!

Forgot to come here to "complain" a bit after my wedding. All the things go quite smoothly. Just the dinner started late. As i'm waiting for the guests and also my videographer. He went back to office to do my day highlight video and got stuck in a traffic jam(that day got NDP rehearsal). Started march in abt 8.45pm. But i think worth the wait as all my guests enjoy the video.

Firstly, as i took the small ballroom, so a few tables are not in good position. When u play video, the guests seated on both side of the stage, can't see the the video. That's the bad point...

Secondly, about the round marble table for placing the photo frame and album. The aircon above is leaking. Resulting to 2 corners of my framed album got wet, my hubby have to keep it. A lot of my guests didn't get to see the framed 5 in 1 pic. I'm still thinking to get they to pay for the cost... but my hubby stop me. :-(

Thirdly, When we went for food tasting, the food is amazing... but on AD, signz... just ok ok only. The sharkfin is like starched soup.

Lastly, i bring 3 CD for playing. 1 for presentation (march-in). The other 2 are for playing during dinner. But they keep repeating the 1 CD, so i keep hearing the same songs over and over again.

Finally, I would like to commented abt the deco work done by my decorator. It's so nicely done... I'll strongly recommended her to any couples that want to do up DG ballrooms.

A very tiring and unforgettable night...

Hi Weixiang, thanks for sharing these reviews here. Read them before too and tot they are abit out-dated thus wanted to know if any one has new encounter with them.

For me, I went there for their set lunch last Saturday. Overall the quality of their food and services are good.

Ordered their $12.80++ set meal that includes goose meat, sharkfin, wasabi mayo prawn, fried rice and mango pudding. Two of these items can be found in their banquet menu.

The first one is their sharkfin. It is very flavourful. It might be too sweet/salty to some but it is better than tasteless and stachy.

The second one is the wasabi mayo prawn. Its a nice dish and the wasabi is not too "hot". I think elderlys should be able to accept it.

Personally i feel that the ambience, services and quality of food are acceptable. It will be one of my banquet choices.

i am considering to change my banquet to Ban Heng's small hall.

Can anyone advise how is the food, service, equipment ie mortage, changing room, toilet & etc.?

Hi stroey!

The smaller banquet's changing rm is near one of the tables whereby if there's guests sitting there, they can see u gg in and out of the rm. Food wise is good I would say. Have heard some compliments on it. Service wise, it depends thou. Toilet is near the ballroom so should b no problem. Hope it helps. =)

I've just booked my banquet at Ban Heng today. As they are having their wedding roadshow this weekend, they are offering us really good deal.

My date is one of the hot dates in September and they did not charge us extra because of that. We managed to nego for free flow of beer & wine, plus free one night hotel stay and free food tasting for 10 pax with min 20 tables for the $588 nett package.

We've seen the smaller ballroom and find that it's quite nice with it's own reception area where by the lift is and the entrance from the carpark area.

The person I signed with was Candy. She's really a nice lady to give us such a good deal. She said that the restaurant is going to slowly increase more items and selection for the wedding stuffs, so that is a good news for future couples.
