Conrad Centennial Singapore

Hi Kass,

Yup.... will be collecting them this wednesday.

Will provide a detailed posting on the overall experience for all to share.

Hi there, can i have the conrad 2010 wedding package as well? Thank you! :D

So conrad is 12 pax per table? Whats their min no. of tables for weekdays/weekends?

Kass... got the cards from JB. Quality is good. Comparable to S'pore printing. Service is good... much much better than our local grumpy aunties who charge you for every little details such as cropping and graphics. Very happy

.

The only drawback is the hassle of going thru customs.

Hi hi iynaw05... jeannie, eng yan, yu ying are their main 'task force officers'... but I suppose all their staffs are equally fantastic.

Wing.... actually conrad's menu pricing is comparable to other 5-star hotels.... it is only steep when you factor in the fact that there are not much free perks.... and need to pay for additional stuffs like projectors..... even changing of the table floral centrepieces also need to pay.

But the sight of the exclusive ballroom, grand foyer, and stunning staircase overwrite the costs.

I think for Conrad you may need to take the higher-priced menus. Heard a lot of feedback that the cheapest menu's quality is really horrible.

thks ken,

can u send me their contacts? there's this janice who served me once... she's friendly but a bit blur... i hv a feeling that she's new to the hotel hence not a gd help to us.

Hi Yee Sin and Benny.... I booked with them for 2009... in fact it will be next month
biggrin.gif
.... so I cannot advise on 2010 pricings.... best is that you give them a call.

iynaw05.... you can call 64327205.. that is the catering dept direct line.... look for eng yan, jeannie or Yu Ying..... these are the more 'old bird' coordinators.

Carebearz.... the normal menu I wouldn't say is fantastic, but is definitely good enough... although it is subjective to individual's taste buds. Famed places like St. Regis, Ritz Carlton, Shangri-la also have their fair share of food complaints... especially the former.

But of course one thing for sure, the more you spend to upgrade the menu, the better (theoritically) the food will be.

hallo all, i have also booked with conrad for late next year. the package is as per above. janice is my coordinator and yes she is new to the team. however i felt that blur as she maybe with regards to the hotel's operations, she maintains her service levels and is still able to dispense advice to me, that i find useful.

Compared to other coordinators whom i had a hard time understanding my requirements and working out with me to meet it, they/she won me over. i mean old birds can also be difficult to deal with too, yeah?

in terms of food, is it a question of taste or an issue of quality of ingredients? if its the former, then it is highly subjective. If it is the latter then yes, often higher priced menus would have better ingredients lar.

you will need to prioritise which is more important to you- ambience, exclusivity, food, taste, value for money, perks, tall ceilings, pillarless etc. can't be 1 hotel that has everything right?

to us, we were won over by their service. Tap back on your previous experiences on weddings and perhaps that will help. i have had missing waitresses, bland food, rushed program etc etc. is it the guest who gives angpow who is more important, or the feel of yourself walking down more important?

actually i thought the more famed places, usually the food is not as nice haha.

hope it helps above.

iamken> do you have contacts for the printer, wine and projector? can share?

Well said candymix!!

But I would like to add that old bird co-ordinators have more 'power' and 'say'.... for example mine is Eng Yan who is also the Asst Director of caterings...... she has been able to bend some rules plus extra concessions for our requirements.

candymix.... I went to JB for printing... much much cheaper.... you can read my postings under wedding cards forum... under T&T printing thread............. forget about T-Dragon recommended by the hotel... bloody blood suckers... very money-face.

Wine.... one of my business associates is a wine dealer... hinted to him about my wedding... and will be sponsoring free wines.

Projectors... I will rent from Conrad, as I do not want to risk getting outside projectors which may be incompatible.

actually i thought janice was new and because of that and she needed to meet her numbers, mgmt give her a chance so she could make concessions to us. but well, so long as we are happy with what we got, thats good.

try not to compare perks and feel lose out or anything, does us no gd.

wah, their projectors are steep leh. i think i will source from outside though..just get the specs..

so good, free wines..they have several printers right? cos not very keen on going in jb..

That why I need to print in JB... save some money to pay for the projectors rental.... hahaaa

The other printers recommended by Conrad are so-so... either too expensive, or limited printing style capability.

hi ken and candymix, guess what u guys said make senses....

but.. my hubby n i signed up for marriott instead... where my sister held her wedding few yrs ago... had the same coordinator as hers.. =)

Hi, does anyone has contacts for projectors rental?
My bf and I are considering going for Conrad, (coordinator is Janice too...she's new to the hotel...2 mths old i think) but projectors are not included... and it'll cost us over 1k for 2 projectors from the hotel. Is this common? Serveral hotels we went throw in projectors f.o.c.

Hi iynaw05..... hey marriott is good too... hear of good food and service... good choice.

xiaodingdang.... can't help you on the outsourced projectors, as I am using Conrad's too. For Conrad's projectors, I am not suppose to reveal my contract details..... what i can 'hint' to you is that for you to read carefully my second message posted on 24th Sept on this thread.

Good luck.

yup marriott is good too. wanted to hold mine there but the min tables req is 40 for my date... =(

i think i get ur hint....perhaps i can try bargaining for abit more from mine..

BTW, just to share, i had dinner at Conrad last night... Wanted to try out the food before signing the agreement...esp after hearing some mixes of comments on the quality of food... Personally, the food is pretty well done i must say...though the service wasn't v attentive...

and also, there was this wedding held last night... the couple used black and red theme.. i was suprise how good it looked...had tot that it'll be too dull and dark... but the combination made the ballroom looked classy and cosy... & sexy too... ehhee... however, it kind of covered the 'glam' of those dressed in black...

anyone here intending to use the black and red theme?

hi xiaodingdang

i'm intending to rent projectors outside for my banquet next year. U might wanna check out this website that does projector rental at a fraction of the hotel's price.

http://projector4rentdotsg

do replace the dot with the actual .
i don post often but see ppl post like that
i suppose there must be a restriction about posting URL here
Hope it helps

Hi xiao dingdang...... did you dine at the restaurant? My food tasting was done there... yeah, the staff there not so fantastic. Food was good.

But no worries, on actual night, the banquet manager will be there to oversee the staff.... so I assume it will turn out alright.

I will be using the champagne theme. Really wanted the scarlet.... but after viewing a few real weddings, I personally feel that the ballroom is rather dull and dim under the scarlet theme. Maybe it is just me.

Thanks Samuel!
the prices on their website is soooo attractive... which mth are u holding ur banquet next yr? at conrad too?

Hi Ken, yup i dine at the restaurant that night.
my initial intention was also to use the champagne theme....hmmmmm.... shall decide on a nearer date to my wedding... depending on my wedding gown too.. =)

Hi,
Just sharing my experience with u gers here.
I attended my brother's wedding dinner on Monday nite. The staff there are friendly and helpful.
Manager willing to compromise alot of request we've made last minutes. =)
Although the package not cheap but their service is great.

Hi all,

personally i feel that it's best to visit conrad to experience the ambiance, service that they have before looking at their package. Coz I can say that their package is definitely not the most attractive...u might not consider the place without visiting just by looking at the cost per table and perks they offer.. in actually fact, the perks offered by the hotels can negotiate..so voice down to the cost per table when comparing with package .. My suggestion is to go down and experience it yourself whether you like the place then work on yr budget see which fits the most. =)

That was my experience before i confirm Conrad..i'm a BTB jul 2010! what won me over was firstly their service then the foyer and ballroom...and i heard good comments abt their food as well especially the 'second dish'... =) You guys can look for my coordinator eng yan if you are keen..friendly and helpful. Most of all, she's efficient. Me and HTB are both a bit fussy when it comes to service but we are very pleased with her. =)

i agree with the services of conrad not too bad. quite flexible compare to some other hotel i laise with before i confirm with conrad. my AD is next mth!!!

Congrats sters! I saw both themes before .. one is a grand setting.. another is a dreamy one.. =) maybe you can factor in yr EG when deciding the theme.. =)

hey dreamer, i haven seen the scarlet theme but my HTB thinking to have something diff... my evening gown is gold/champagne.. that is also y we tempted to use scarlet theme.. any suggestion>?!!!

which is grand?

Black and Gold matches well and gives a grand touch. If you are looking for a grand feel, go for the scarlet theme or ask if can change the sash to gold also nice.. I suggest u discuss with your coordinator to explore any other available options.

Hi xiaodingdang,

mine will be 2010 Sep, still a long way to go, at conrad too.
Will engage the projector service outside in order to save that few hundred dollars which is quite a hefty sum of $$$.

If u r not particular, mayb u can give it a try
happy.gif

hi dreamer11, is there black n gold theme? i'd thought that there's only the red n black or white n gold theme... can mix huh? can email me pics of the scarlet theme?

hi samuel, i shld be confirming mine nov 2010, 2 mths from urs... let me know ur feedback on the outsourced projectors aft ur wedding can?
happy.gif

hey dreamer, can send me pics of scarlet theme too?

im a conrad oct btb 2010!

xiaodingdang: yes you can mix their themes...

hmm...black and gold is nice...

hi xiaodingdang, i am not sure if can mix gold with black but should be ok cos i think i saw a mix of white n scarlet theme.. turns out the sash like pink shade.. talk to your coordinator ya..

Candymix, i cant post the pics here leh cos they are very big.. u wanna drop ur email so i email to you? else u go try google them and u should be able to view some.. =)
