Cheongsam


hi new here. does mama misse rent CS also? my BS don't have nice ones so thinking of rentng for PS and actual day to send off my guests. can also advise me the mama misse operating hours? tks a lot!

mama misse opens @ 11.30am - 7.30pm (Mon - Fri) & 11.30am - 4.30pm (Sat).

you can call 62211865 to check if they rent their CS before you go.

anyway, their price is quite reasonable & affordable... maybe you can consider to get one n keep for future use, for work or dinner.
 
hi chinoiserie, i have just tailored made my cs today. i agree the price is reasonable and the lady who serve me is approachable & friendly too. hopefully my cs will turn out fantastic!

I called Mama & Misse, the lady said they are located at Int'l Plaza #02-10. The lady said they offer CS at $150-$200+, anyone know if this comes with beading?
 
hi klybtb, don't worry... your CS will sure turn out nice. i just collected mine last friday and i am very satisfied with the CS. it fits just like a second skin...

hidy, why don't you check with them again whether it comes with beading? my CS doesn't come with beading, but the fabric is velvet roses on chiffon with satin lining on the inside. it costs me $280.

I am also looking for CS now coz i am thinking of wearing a CS for my ROM and actual day tea ceremony. But so far couldn't find any good shop for CS until i found this thread. hehehe!

I just want to share all the places i checked out when I made my cheongsam. Hopefully it eases the search for others...
1. IRIS Fashion Design Lucky Chinatow #02-22 62273490 . This is the cheapest quoted $150(with satin fabric). Not much designs to choose from.
2.Perfect Art #01-49 Shaw Tower 62991695
I made mine here. It costs $150 for workmanship. Not designs to choose from
3. d-element #03-09 Amara 62214344
abt $300 upwards with fabric. a designer will work on it with you have have 2 fittings.
4. Mama &Misse - as per above. they have off-the-rack stuff too.
5. Joan's attic -Far East Plaza 67337368
abt $300 upwards with fabric. a designer will work on it with you too. I like her designs.. very contemporary n classy.
6. Theres also a shop on 2nd floor of far east which sells off-the rack cheongsam. designs are quite nice too.

i gave them 3 wks allowance, but they finished before that. But should give some allowance in case need to alter somemore.

Looking for mtm cheongsum for mum to wear on my AD.. so far only been to Lady Xiang at Centrepoint. As dont know where else to go for mtm, cant make any comprasion..are they actually good? Any comments?

Btw, there used to be one cheongsum boutique at the bugis Junction few years back.. any idea where are they now? Not very sure is the shop named Ted collection?:p Anyone know pls advice & do share some comments on them if any.

The tiong bahru shops is called Nelson at block 58 jst next to the Tiong bahru market...dunno what's the rd name..charges depends on design i think... mine was 300+ ...not that cheap.

sigh. i made the biggest mistake yday. i walked into a shop during lunch yday n bot a CS on impulse. now heart v pain. its 600+ n its not even embroidered. reli regret big time.
 
i can't really remember how much i spent on the material but its less than $100 (I didn't use french lace though). There are no designs to choose from, its just a tailor rather than a designer, but its easy, just show them designs from magazines that you like.. and the lady will draw out to make sure its what you want before starting to work on it.

forgot to mention they have limited fabrics to choose from, so you might need to get from Arab street (where i got mine) or from people's park centre

Cringe: Your CS is really beautiful! I like the colours. How long do they take to finish the CS and most importantly, was the fit good?
