Hey RV1906, I'm getting married on 2 July 2016 at St Anne's... I got The Enchanted Tree to do my flowers for me.. a bit early, i know. But i didnt manage to get my first choice venue cause I wasn't early enough apparently.. so i've booked everything.. (kiasu)
kinda like their rustic look (if that's the kind that you're looking for)

May I know the procedure for actual day ?

1. Groom leave house to pick bride from her house.
2. Go to church
3. Leave church after reception to grooms house for tea ceremony
4. Brides place for tea ceremony.

Is the sequence correct ?

Thank you

Hi all, I am an organist based at Risen Christ but I frequently play for weddings at other Catholic churches. I can organise a small choir and can help you with choosing music, as well as the slides or booklets. Do feel free to contact me if you are looking for an organist for your wedding mass! My email is [email protected]

Service cos it is faster? :p

Haha, I wanted service too. My fiance is not catholic, but he's quite supportive and is fine with both. Just not sure if his side of the family will faint from it being so long. Haha! But my grandma is quite staunch; die die must mass.. Not sure how I'm gonna convince her otherwise.

Anyone manage to book a church before attending CEE? How's the process like? Can share?

Can book the church first, then give the necessary documents, then tell them that you will be doing the CEE later, as long as it's before the church wedding. Once you finish the CEE, take the cert to the church and show it to them.

I'm trying to book SFX for February 2017 but they've asked me wait till next week when then secretary returns.

One other question I have is how do you approach the priest whom you want to celebrate your mass for you? I go to OLSS so would like to ask the priest here, but the fiancé and I like the look of SFX church. Any advice is greatly appreciated :)

Ahh okay. My understanding is that you have to check with the church you're intending to hold it at, if you could have another celebrant for the mass. You might need to speak to the parish priest for this.

Then you will need to ask the intended celebrant whether he is able to celebrate it at SFX.

See if Sfx has the date that u want in feb, then ask if the priest from your church is available on that day to go to Sfx to celebrate for u.

Hi everyone,

I am planning to get marry mid 2017. Any recommendation for church to get marry? And will most church open to non-parishioner? As I understand that st. Mary of the angel will give priority to their own parishioner. Thank you :)

Hi Mag_B, usually they will advise you to have your wedding at your parish. St Mary of the Angels is a pretty popular church to get married at, hence I believe they decided to give priority to their own.

Hi Everyone,

I know it is a bit rush right now but I am planning to get married in end of April 2016. I understand that both my fiancee and myself needs to go for the Marriage Preparation course and CEE however right now it is too late for both of us to go for it. Was wondering if there is another way to it?

Would be glad if anyone who has encounter this kind of situation before for some advise.

Thank you and God Bless!

Perhaps you can consult ur parish priest instead?

I have just completed my CEE and it was booked at least half a year ago. Or you can contact CEE organisers and see if they can slot you in for the upcoming run?

Congrats on your completion of your CEE!

I just contacted the organisers however the slots in March are all full. What they did was to put me in waiting list under red color to show as urgent case.

Hi everyone,

Anyone knows how long would a wedding mass last? Would 2 hours be sufficient for the wedding lunch reception at the church or is it too rush?

wedding mass is abt 1hr 30mins max.
and the lunch reception at the church is between 2-3hrs.
for the reception is all depends on what u intend to hav in the programme.
some couples hav a short lunch and dinner later.
for others, its a later lunch with no dinner.
all depends on your preference. just enjoy the BIG day!

My grandma also insist on a mass. At first I wanted a service, but she said cannot. I heard that for a Catholic a mass is then consider a complete marriage ceremony. Service cannot. So I also considering.

I won't be having a dinner banquet.. just church wedding and lunch reception in church. just been told that i'll only be allowed to use the canteen for 2 hours only and am worried that it'll be too rush for my guests. :(

@owl_17 do ask the church secretary or the Parish Priest if you can extend the booking till 3 to 4hrs total.
If ur having mass in the morning (say 10am) it shld end by 12pm latest so u can hav lunch till 2 or 3pm.
I hav 3 couple frens who got married at Church of St Vincent de Paul and all 3 lasted till abt 3pm

My HTB sister did that, she had to hire a wedding planner in the end cos she didn't want her friends to miss the church portion cos they need to take care of lunch recept..

@pinktea thats perfectly fine if u wish to hav your lunch banquet at hotel instead of having it at church.
just ensure your guests know they hav to proceed directly to the hotel

@jiahui2805 u can do both on the same day provided your gate crash isnt to taxing on the groom.
most wedding i've attended, the couples do both (gate crash at 7 or 8am) then onto church by 10am

I'm in the midst of selecting my caterer now. Choosing between Rasel, Purplesage and Orange Clove. Anyone can help? I'm more in kind with Rasel especially they are having 10% discount now. Anyone has tried their food?
