My mum always said durian is good for health, dunno it is good for BB too! Ping, then u can tell ur MIL to let u eat more durian, haha...
 
Jas, my MIL used to allow me to eat, but now she sings a different song!

Recently after she ate 4 seeds, her tongue got swollen and she suffered constant pain for a few days and nights. She's convinced it's becoz the durian is "poisonous". She told me now I got bb inside so shld think of bb's health and don't play-play go eat durian!

As for FIL, he thinks that bb will be born with bad rashes/ bad skin condition if mtb eats durian. He still allows me to eat 1 seed or so if I insist but I didn't. 1 or 2 seeds really cannot satisfy me leh becoz I'm very greedy.

Not sure how durian is good for bb, but can confirm durian is fattening for adult lor, becoz last time my mum will eat a lot and she'll put on weight by end of the season. Now she controls to prevent her weight from increasing!

Ping, eat in moderately should b OK lah but not satisfying hoh, he he he ... if need to tahan, then have to loh as BB will b out very very soon, then u can have lots lots of durian liau ..
 
aiyoh... my aunt used to makan lots of durian when she was carrying my cousin. Ate so much that my aunt suffered from boils (but then dunno if it's because of the durians). So when she gave birth to my cousin, she also suffered from boils. Poor thing but luckily only for a while.
Old wife tales = durian is heaty so kena boils lor...????
 
Elaine, old wife tales also saying don't take 'cooling' stuffs during pregnant .. but eating anything with limitation should be oK lah .

actually i thought a lot of people say durian very "du" and cannot take too much at one go..never hear people say durian is good for health leh..anyway, any good or bad thing must eat moderately lah...

susan, me only know how to eat, dunno how to choose or open durians lah. ;p Have even only been to the durian plantation once only as afraid mosquitoes.

Durians are definitely fattening and heaty, that's why i dare not eat much! But now can get durians anytime anywhere and so...cheap! $0.50 per durian! My my...

heard that some people crave for certain food during their pregnancy... any of the mommies here experience such cravings?
 
eccentric, my fren who is 5 months pregnancy craves for durians. Even went restaurant for dinner she will ask for durian pudding for dessert.

hehe..from the internet lah..."google" it and all info come out..haha...actually hor, when my late mummy carried me, she too craved for durian! she cycled far far to buy durian to eat..keke...heng i dun have bad skin or anything...but then when she carried me, she also drank lots of soya bean lah..people say baby will be born with fair skin, so she wanna tried..and there might be some truth in it cos i'm the fairest among my siblings..kekek...

Elaine, I'm feeling normal, no cravings at all .. just don't like fish at the beginning stage but I'm Ok with fish now.

Elaine, wah, sounds like u're preggie leh, he he he .. at initial stage, our appetite is damn good one .. er, hard to find Penang CKT in S'pore leh, along Katong road, there's a Penang restaurant but I've not tried .. there's also Penang buffet @ Copthorne King's Hotel

Jas, when u're preggie, your cravings can be the other way round .. my co-worker, she likes fried chicken very much before preggie but when preggie leh, she hated chicken but then after labor, she likes chicken again .. these are all hormonal change ..

luckily I and Ping are OK .. save trouble for our hubbies ...

oh... i adore ramli burger too! Everytime i head back to kl, sure makan one! Cant find any here that taste just as good hor. CKT... also craving long long time, dunno how to DIY. Heard there's a hotel serving it at $12 per plate!

Think "soaps" is the no. 1 outrageous thing to crave for. No. 2 and 3 got to be toothpaste and grounded coffee beans (those black coffee beans after u steep in hot water to make coffee). Heard that my relatives got this kind of craving. eeewww... yucks...

Susan, u very cute, ask eccentric to eat triple share, skali she come back fat fat, hahaha! But it's true that there's certain food u just can't find in S'pore (taste very different).

Last time I also go back KL monthly to eat the following: ckt, bak-kut-teh, nasi lemak, Penang-style prawn mee, cantonese style "Yun-Yong", Hokkien mee, wan ton mee and of course my mum's home-cooked meals!
