I suppose Bali accepted rupiah bascially. Nt much places accepted USD when u shop

Hwever, if u r booking tour wif ur resort/hotel, they will charge u in USD. Tat was hw their practice was when i was there in end 2006

I juz back from my Bali trip..it was wonderful ..too bad we stayed for such a short period..
And i feel my tour driver wasnt v good

Btw anyone know for Tanah Lot 's floating temple we need to pay? 10kRP per pax? or we kenna chop although quite cheap but i don like kenna chop.. if so i wanna blacklist my tour driver..
and the seafood at Jimbaran so ex n not nice

had king prawns + fish + calamari + veg for 1 pax.. ~S$90

btw, airport tax now is 150k RP.
RP is widely used in Bali.. Din use any USD actually..even at the villa

SQ, Qantas, Eva Air n Garuda does have flight to Bali

Hwever, the flight timing from Sg to Bali via Qantas depart at 2200

For Eva Air, flight depart Sg for Taipei b4 gg to Bali

For SQ, the flight timing is 9.30am, 4pm or 720pm
(i juz paid $1096 for 2 tix to Bali in Sep)

Not so sure of Garuda. U can chk thou

If u r hiring any driver svc, u can tell them where u wan to go or u can ask them for places of interest to visit

I dun tink any budget airlines go Bali yet but u can try to source Tiger airway/Jetstar website to find out

I tink there r the famous Uluwatu temple. The Safari n the Volcano bah. Jimbaran is the place to eat seafood but personally i find the rest i went last time round nt worth the price i paid for

Oso, the only bad point to dine in open space in Bali is there is a lot of flies. U cant reali concentrate on ur meal

Found out tat Jetstar goes there, pretty cheap like $200 plus or less depending on the day of departure.

How far is Jimbaran away from Kuta by walking and transport?

Wow, u can nvr walk from Kuta to Jimbaran man

U can takes maybe 1 whole day, frm morning to nite juz to walk. As for tspt, its maybe at 30 mins or so bah

Its like 1 end to the other end

I didnt kw Jetstar goes Bali. I guess individual preference as i heard a lot of feedback on budget airline svc (delay etc)

Juz an additional info: if u decided to go ahead with SQ, most SQ flight to Bali had been pre-book till end of the yr

Unless u do nt mind taking late flight which is nt worthwhile le...

I had a hard time getting my flight seats too :< but luckily last min maybe got pple cancel tats y i can get

The best option for flight is garuda. If you fly budget, be prepared to spend a lot more on the waiting time as well as additional hotel stays due to the funny flight schedule. So far Garuda direct is $350 nett per person from Changi to Bali. 4.45pm and 7.45pm if i'm not wrong.

My suggestions to you is use simple English to communicate as Balinese r used to speaking in Malay n their English level might nt be as gd as S'porean

(Sorry, not trying to insult Balinese but its true tat sometimes they misunderstand our meaning)

My suggestions is to call them using ur IDD althou it cost but its worth it if it can get things done

By the way, my colleague told me there is some "Wisma" at Kuta area that's as cheap as around 70.000 rupiah per day, breakfast inclusive, some even have hot water and bathtub. Do you have any reference/recommendation?

Which are the better areas to stay in? Eg in terms of proximity to beach, beach views, scenic views?

Hi Jac,

We stayed in The Sanyas Sutie, www.sanyas-suite.com. It's located at Seminyak, we did not go to beach from the villa cos' our photographer brought us to a number of beaches during the photography session already.

The villa is nice and peaceful, you have your own pool, a living room and a small pantry. It's quite reasonably priced compared to other villas, we booked from Asiarooms.com. There is a small rice field opposite the hotel.

For scenic views, you may want to consider Ubud area, overlooking rice terrace. Although we did not stay in Ubud but we went there for a day trip. Hope the above helps.

Hi Lilo, you can consider staying at 2 different places, especially if you dun have a tour package, as the attractions are not very near from one to another. Kuta is more happening, near the Kuta beach and has long stretch of cafes, pubs, and shops. Nusa Dua is more serene.
