Advice needed on F&E trip to Italy !!!

Hi,

I will be going to Berlin for business in May and will be able to extend 5 days. I plan to go to Rome/Florence.

Anyone can suggest the best route to travel.

My husband and I are looking to go Italy for our honeymoon in December!

suggestions please! Should we tour the around Italy or just stick to rome and Venice! I heard Venice floods during that period. Is it advicable?

December not a good time to go Cinque Terre... could be dangerous too. and it is usually rainy...

depends on how many days u hv. i did a 11day trip. I went to venice / rome / florence / milan

Not just stick to rome / florence.. based there, go to the outskirts... like pisa / vienna etc...

will april be a good month to visit italy?

and i'm going to ask a stupid question: how many winter jackets should we bring to change out in a 14 day trip?

want to backpack but i think i will just overpack.

Yes April is a good month to visit Italy. You do not need thick winter jackets if you are going in April, just a normal jacket will do. Temperature around 18 degree which is like walking in aircon room. I went in April last year and Milan and Rome is warm. I only bring one jacket for my 19 days trip :-)

dun overpack too much cos it's not a luggage friendly place..... it's steps and uneven ground... =S.....i backpacked italy + greece last june with hubby...can check out my blog at tangtang-land.blogspot.com (archive june 2011) for pixs and more info...=)

Hi, I'm planning for a holiday to Italy.

Been thinking of visiting Rome, Venice, Florence and Milan. Not sure if to squeeze in Paris.
Is 14 days enough? Anyone had similiar trips before to share/advise?

It's going to be my first trip there and am not sure if to go with travel agent or F&E though the latter is much more preferred..

Anyone can help? Thanks!

I think generally Europe are best to travel free and easy. That's the only way u can enjoy local authentic food and enjoy the attractions at ur own pace without the feeling of being rushed from places to places. Can try downloading applications with offline maps to ur smart phones. Quite reliable. Manage to navigate my way around without getting lost.

Hi jopiglet, thanks for your reply! Yeah I'm digging some old threads in the forum. Seems like F&E isn't that difficult cept for the travelling to the various citties.
Thanks for the suggestion! will take a look on the apps available. You happen to have any to suggest?

Hello! U can download "triposo". I think is according to countries. It has offline maps which you can use ur phone's GPS to navigate. And it offers a list of attractions to visit and restaurants which you can categorize according to most popular or those nearest to you. Oh, and also, there's no need to buy data plan or use auto roaming. ;)

Thank you so much jopiglet for the advise! Appreciate it!

we did our F&E Italy trip in 2011 .. it was so fun, the best country we had went ( compared to Paris, London, Japan ... ). Here's our detailed itinerary .. and some of pics we took during the trip.
