I've considered TAB before as their photos are really stunning! However, due to budget, we gave it a miss.

I'm a March 2017 bride too! I settled banquet, AD photog, AD videog as these are my priorities. Not done anything for bridal yet- oops!
Hihi, is better to start finding yr AD videographer and photographer now as it is easier to negotiate if you book early.
I signed with H&V photography and the photographer (Haige) is very prompt in replies even after deposit is made. He even explain the story behind each photo when we met him.
But my AD will be at feb 2017 so I have not work with him yet. Your choice =)
depends if you want what kind of wedding. If you are planning to have photoshoot and banquet then bridal shop makes sense.
Ala carte may cost more unless you are planning to have rom only and no photoshoot

I would advise you to take a look at their actual day portfolio first before making decision to use their photographer and videographer. Usually pre wed photographer are more exp with poses pictures rather than capturing the moment on AD. Hi everyone! I need recommendations for actual day videograpy n photography. Anyone would like to share? Also m thinking i might need to engage mua as my bridal boutique charge us 100 bucks per hr if earlier den 7 am. So if its cheaper to engage one, i may just forgo the mua in the packages. Any advice?

So far all the MUA's I've checked with have surcharges if it's early in the morning. My MUA charges $100 for a 7am appointment as well.
MUA's rates can range from as low as $500 to as high as $1,500.
My bridal room (the shop i signed my package with) charged me $50 an hour for hours earlier than 7am. I think $100 is too exp

JuzDream, thanks for sharing. I thought so too. Initially i thought it was a one time $100, but when i check the contract it was stated per hr so i got a shock!!! Should have read the terms clearly when i signed. Lesson learnt.
May I know when will be your wedding? I will be going for gown selection and pre makeup trial on 28 feb. I heard from my friend the makeup artist assigned to me is good. If possible, i can ask her for AD rates for you?

My MUA no surcharge for early. You can go Facebook search "Celest Ong bridal makeup". 2make up + 2 hairdo for about $500plus

Nice to gather so much feedback and tips on wedding preparations My wedding will be held on 18 Feb 2017 at Holiday Inn Orchard City Centre and I have also booked my bridal shop at the BOWS event, which is called France Paris. I will be going to Taiwan for my pre-wedding photoshoot. Did any of you booked France Paris or heard any feedback from those who have used them before? As I can't seem to find much comments and feedback about them online. They have just recently (think last year) opened a Singapore branch. Will appreciate any help/advice

My advice is that you either go for ala cart items or you go for reputable bridal shop that will charge between 3k to 4k or JB (Venus) that charge a range of RM4888 to RM5888 depending on your package.
I heard from my friends that bridal shops that charge less than 3k in Singapore would have many hidden cost at the back such as the cost in adding of photos or limited choice in gowns.

As of now, I have only confirmed the banquet at Crowne plaza hotel during the BOWS fair and signed up my wedding package with the wedding forestry which is a newly opened shop located at suntec. Has anyone attended wedding before at Crowne plaza? Is it good?

You may consider H&V photographer. I am engaging them for my 25 feb 2017 wedding.
He replies almost instantly and provides ariel view as well. Charges slightly cheaper than other photographers.

I'm actually considering that. Did some rough calculations.. i guess possibility that ala carte can be cheaper just that lesser photography time cos bridal studio usually do full day shoot..
I did consider doing ala carte before but there will be too many uncertainties on wedding day. Like what if the MUA cant make ot that day. What if the gown shop suddenly closes down on eve of wedding day?
The main reason why people goes to bridal shop is so that there will be a replacement avaliable and less likely to close down.
There are of coz examples of bridal shop closing downs but tat chance is lower many different factors into one.
However, i am going for bridal package and ala cart at the same time as the bridal shop do not have the type of gown i want so i need cusomise it. But if the place that is customising my gown close down, at least to have the bridal shop to depend on. My customise gown will cost $660 while bridal shop will cost 1.3k just to customise my gown

Hello, you may want to consider Lavitabrides. I am doing my customised gown there and they charge me half price of bridal studios. But their shop is at Sengkang hdb without a proper shop. So far, I like their service and heard they been doing this for 10 yrs
Yeah i agree! Id much rather my own photographer giving me all the photos than studios who charge you 95 for each additional piece and you end up spending a bomb..Yes I'm going to do that
But is actually negotiable for non edited photos at $40 which i gotten at some bridal shop.
Ps: no diff in pre edited and post edited photos. You can just photoshop yrself at most
Yeah.. I've yet to decide but I'm quite keen on going ala carte cos my photographer is willing to edit everything for me.. Considering package from studio is more for the sake of convenience, having everything arranged via one place.

I ended up buying my gown at a clearance sale! I may or may not sell it depending on how I feel after the wedding. Haha for my htb, we are going to make his suits as they can be reused for other functions so quite worth it.
It all depends on your budget. I know of friends who travel to Bangkok to do the same, it's almost half the price (or even less) than what you'll pay for in Singapore. A friend of mine even bought from h&m and Zara - they offer good value and have a range of cuts to fit most.

Ive attended 2 weddings at crowne plaza. For the second wedding that I attended, the food was cold and the soup was quite little that each guest only had a half filled bowl. Other than that, the food tastes okay. Service was not bad as well.

We just bought our bridal package from France Paris last sat, which i kinda regret now. It was the first booth we went to and we actually signed with them :/ After going back, then i realised the price is a bit on the high side. Then today, HTB's friend told him that FP takes mediocre photos. Now i really wonder what was i thinking back then! But i kinda like the lady who served us, she was really attentive to details and know what i want. Now, im keeping my fingers crossed that everything will go well and my money is well spent!

Hi Lynette, I also signed my bridal package (both overseas photoshoot and actual day) with France Paris. I was also worried like you as I can't really find a lot of reviews on them online. But I believe it depends on the photographer you choose as from what I understand, they will show you the photos taken by the different photographers and you can select from there. I have heard from my colleague who told me that France Paris's services are very good as well. My photoshoot is in October so will keep you updated after that

Anyways, i bought a package from one of the more reputable studios and realised that it is quite expensive given the content that I nego for. Do you all request for MUA trial makeup? and has anyone tried successfully asking for more stuff after package has signed and paid for?

Once yr date is confirmed, you can arrange choosing of gown and makeup trial at the same time.
Usually all price is easier to negotiate before signing package . I signed my package with another couple friend. So i gotten 37 photos instead of the standard 28 photos eg.
Thanks!! We didnt do much research before going down to the fair, HTB texted his friend about the package and he said it was ok so we signed. Actually the things that I missed out during the negotiation are all small stuff, just hoping that the bridal studio will throw in for me even that we signed when the fair was ending and they are all knocking off. *cross fingers*
