just got my date not too long ago, now sourcing for venue and photographer.

i'm looking at around 35 tables. preferably below 1.1k for a saturday dinner. any hotels to recommend?

ok think i am more or less decided on jocelyn from 3 sessions..she is the most affordable and singing not bad too..kewei got surcharge le..best not to pay additional...
now i just have to find out jocelyn sounds like in chinese..heheheh

hmm i not sure how to update the spreadsheet..have to ask my bf for help...

just gotten the quotes from wedding harmony, they are out of my budget! *strikes them off my list*
 
another thing gals, i have decided to take out the wedding favors given by intercon for 25 tables..any suggestions on what can i exchange for in return?

i was thinking one more nite in the bridal suite..is tat ok? or better still, a complimentary table..is tat too much to ask?
 
Houseoflove : usually wedding favors they buy in bulk which costs abt 1bucks plus or less than a dollars. Dun think u can ask for a complimentary table but can try ur luck to request for additional bridal suite or helper room

im still sourcing on MUA. havent book a trial with cleo chang yet. intending to do so asap. my fren reco me another MUA too, have yet to contact her. kinda "halting" on the weddinf stuffs for now cos i m getting my hse keys in less than a month's time, so need to prep for my reno and stuff. PS is in July, so kinda clash into it. hopefully can cope!! =X

Shannie: hi~ welcome n congrats on getting ur date.. hmmm, have u shortlisted any hotels yet? u can take a look at the list of hotels and see which few suits ur budget and no. of tables then go recce and see which one u prefer best!

shanna: is contractor much cheaper? then like tat, u gotta liase w many other pple? for eg, bathroom pple, kitchen pple? or will e contractor do everything for u?
 
bem, i haven't try her yet. appt supposed to fix on 15 may but she change it to 5 jun. i dont mind her pushing the date cos my AD is in Jan.
 
bem: yah contractor will do all the reno, from hacking to flooring and cabinets and toilet but i think for electrical must get someone else.
 
Whitetea; mine is short CS and full lace, maybe thats why the difference? Also its not french lace, its the cheaper italian lace =)

dun mind sharing the package for Jiemei dresses if ur keen? I got abt 6 JM now. so I guess get in bulk is cheaper.

Blogshops like Lilypirates, Smooch, Love Bonito has some BM dresses. But the sizing is rather uniform.
 
Hi Shannie, i've been sourcing for sat dinner for 2012 previously too.

You may try holidayday inn orchard city center (maximum 38 tables if i remember correctly). $1138 per weekend dinner.

Novotel (min 30 tables) $1028 for 8 course.

Swissotel Merchant court estimated ard 1.1k too.

I din took up any cause mine was change to lunch instead...

as for jm dresses, i got 4 to make.. what colour theme are u looking at? i'm looking at peach...

Princesslyn: i went through her website before, think her makeup is quite dolly like and some of her hairstyles are nice..although my bf thinks its not impressive cos he says the make up very light, i do myself also same..but i thinking of going for a trial..how much does sanlia charge for trial?

Only thing is i alry have AD day package with MUA and they will only deduct $280 off if i source for it myself..
 
houseoflove, the other time when i enquire about trial, she mentioned that it was $150 but the price was quoted in Jan 2011. maybe price remains or have increased. maybe u can show her what type of makeup u looking at and she will try to do it for u. i had my ps at taiwan and i really love the hairstyle my mua did for me. make up also nice but what really impress me is the hairstyle which makes me look different in all different hairstyles. i hope sanlia can do the same too! the MUA they provide u skillful?
 
the price quoted to me in Jan 2011 was $580. not sure if price increased. best if u check with her the current price. i love the hairstyle that's why i decided to choose her.

oh $580 is quite cheap. i went thru her portfolio, her make-up quite natural and nice.

ya her make-up and hairdo is nice, but my BS also got give me mua hee but i wan 2nd and 3rd march-in make-up and change of hair do so still deciding.

for the evening gown then i thinking to rent another dress for 3rd march in but my BS wan to charge me $280 if mua stay for make-up and hairdo but i hear only touch up a bit and do a bit hairdo leh, so not worth paying $280

xrevlis, i not changing hairdo for 2nd march-in. i find not worth it cos like u say touch up a bit for makeup and hairdo just change a bit. anyway, i think no one can see the difference in your hairdo and makeup unless is a drastic change where people can really notice it. no point spending the extra few hundreds. save the money for honeymoon. haha....
 
xrevlis, i think sanlia charge about $80 more for 2nd march-in according to the rate she quote me the other time. but to pay another $80 more for simple touchup not worth it also. but the decision is still up to u if u need drastic changes to it.

ooh hiaz...haha they are so shrewd.

coz im doing church in the morning. then break till evening. 5pm I'll start the tea ceremony. so Im afraid the Make up may not last if the MUA starts at 3pm. Shld I opt for extra? really heart pain =X

princesslyn, actually i have not really had a chance to see how their make up are like as i have not gone through any of their photo albums..my coordinator recommend me elson, keith or chris i tink..

xrevlis, i signed up the package last mth..mine choice of OTR or MTM..
 

Chinzilla: Ya, it's only the 88 range. I have not seen e design though.. They say no topups allowed for the 98 range..
