I think Euzart prefers MTM too, but I don't think he is insistent about it. I signed the OTR package first, if I don't see something I like, then I'll MTM.

Actually I am v tempted to MTM, but I scared there is something OTR which I will like too.

kass: Cos me and fiance are play safe pple.. haha.. we wanna pay for something that we see that we confirm like, choose a gown which we already like then just do some slight modifications to reach our ideals.. Cos if mtm, it's really difficult for us to visualize e end product n we're just afraid that wat we've envisioned will be different from what the designer has envisioned..

Why not u just look through the OTR WG, if u see something u really like, then that'll be great! For EG, i think it's usually tougher to choose OTR because colours are very individual thing..

pinkglove: yeah, I'll probably see if I can find a WG in good condition. More importantly, I hope I can find something I like ;) Not sure if I have to topup if I pick a new dress though.

cow cow: i didn't think of that! I must ask if I can use the credits to MTM. Hee, thanks for reminding me!

These 2 weeks are extremely busy at work and I usually knock off after 7pm so I most probably won't be able to join you girls. Have fun!

Just wondering, do you get HTB involved in everything or do you source for everything den narrow down on what you like before you pass it over to him to look at? Not sure how i should do it... hmmm....

prisci11a - key word is designate! We look at what are the key things to settle and we will split the load, with me leading the reseach for BS, banquet, and HTB leading in PS PG, AD PG/VG. So we do research, then come together to talk about our research findings and make the decision together (except for BS - I made the decision!)

prisci11a, you have to discuss this through with your fiance to see wheres your comfort level.. for me, i will do all the research while fiance will look at ther quotes. we will visit the places together and i will scrutinized every single details provided while fiance will reason if the package provided are worth their cost.

So eventually we will come to our consesus. For floral and decorative stuff, fiance will hand it to me while i hand the $$ solving to him. All bargainings will be done by me while fiance will tell me what he wanted before hand.

i will do most of the research and find out the quotes...then after i have narrowed down the choices, i will pass it to him...but in the end, i will persuade him what i want...hehehe...
cause he always says that in a wedding, the bride is always the main role, hubby is only supporting role...hehehe...

yeap.. same for me too.. did all the research, get quotes, reply emails.. and pass the info to him.. We will discuss and go down to have a look before coming to a decision..

Yeah, seems like majority of the work is done by the women! I think it's cuz man are generally more laid back, so they take their time, while we are more kancheong, so end up the women end up doing most of the work.

At the beginning it was like that too, then I got fed up that I was doing most of the work, so we discussed and decided the split the research. Esp the PG, I rather leave it to him to do, cuz he's so particular about the style, so far nothing I've showed him really impressed him. Since he so particular, so the best is to ask him to recommend what he already shortlisted.

In my case.. .coz my hubby did all the ROM stuffs, I just have to turn up for my solemnization. So now, the wedding tasks are one me plus also coz he isnt in town to assist.

the rest are moving too fast for me to catch up with them. I am planing to have mine in June and i have not decide on anything yet.. Still looking ard for quotations.. Frankly, i do not have much budget to play with..

I'm not hiring, but we'll probably ask our friends to do a short performance or something, since my HTB is a bassist in a drum and bass band.

As for recommendations, it depends on what u are looking for and their musical style. Yours Truly (Tay Kewei) is really popular, but there are plenty others too.

I am the one co-ordinating regarding the deco and guests for my solemnization as well. fiance just have to invite the JP will do.. as long as he is able to get a JP for my specific time i will be glad enough..

pinkglove, i haven meet the designer yet. I called fiance's friend and he asked me not to worry and assured that my gowns will be ready for my solemnization and AD.. He said maybe by then they already have newer gowns and i no need to MTM le.. hehe... fiance know I very vain one.. so i will definitely come out with reasons to MTM my gown.. hehehe...

hi gals, need some advice. planning for the big day in 2011 but hasn't finalised the date yet. is it too early to start looking for gown 1 year in advance? when shopping for gown will the bridal studios make u pay $$$ to try on the gowns?

Nope, we don't need to pay to try on gowns...but have to make an appointment first

i think most bridal studios prefer you to make an appointment before going to try on their gowns...
for me, i first browsed through wedding magazines to find out which bridal studios offer the kind of dresses i love...
then, i will visit each of those bridal studios and try on their gowns...from there, i will choose the bridal studio that offers the kind of gowns i love the most...
i went down three times before i signed a package with my bridal studio...hehehe...

welcome joy, If u wanna try on gowns, it's best that u book appointments, then u can be sure tat there'll b available fitting rooms for u to try on gowns.. and I went to quite a couple of BS before deciding my BS too. If u go to those one stop BS, muz b firm to not sign on e spot cos there's no harm in looking at more varieties before confirming =)
