Hi Finally Married, actually recent BTOs (Coral Spring, Punngol Vista, etc.) did not have 100% take-up rate.. maybe u can call HDB to check if there is any way for you to choose from the remaining units.. check this out:

i guess HDB will be launching some DBSS projects & BTOs this year.. if u dun mind staying with in-laws then can try applying coz need to wait another 3 years..
i tried 8 times before i managed to get this unit at Bedok.. guess somehow the computerised system seems to recognise you after many attempts.. hehe.. believe your queue no will get much smaller soon!

thebsea, ya. i think alot of venues might haf alrdy been booked. so better hurry to check out hotel venues & availiability first.
meiting, the range from PG/VG can cost frm about $800 onwards. If u r looking for those more popular, then PG price will cost abt $1.5k - $2k onwards... I m not sure of VG price coz I dun intend to get one

Hey ladies ;-)
I am new to this site. Just got engaged 2 months ago, and am planning for our wedding in Jan 09, in Singapore.
I have no much idea about planning, and have not done much yet except receiving a few proposals from hotels in Singapore. Both fiance and I live in HK, so quite difficult to plan for this wedding. Also, out of touch with wedding scene in Singapore, so very happy to find this website, and hope to get ideas, etc for you ladies. Any recommendations would be great.
I am getting stressed when I think of ALL THE THINGS to prepare.. As I said above, I have not even confirm the banquet places, and no bridal salon and wedding dresses yet. Should I panic? I am also studying for my work exam, so really stressful.
I was reading the thread above, but many abbreviations. I guess MTM means made to measure, EG and WG means evening gown and wedding gown. What is VG, PG?
Any ideas/recommendation would be great!

Your banquet venue has a high ceiling and column-less ballroom. The chandeliers also very nice!!
As for PG and VG, i got mine while surfing their website listed in sgbrides.

A PG fee can range from 1k to 5k; VG from 1k to 3k.. So it really depends on your preference on style, budget and click-ability with them!

desjo> I also just selected my gowns. For both WG & EG are all ball gowns to suit my theme of the fairytale, grand feel kind. My WG is white with a long train. If u have gone for the style weddings fair , most prob you have seen it before. As for my EG, i think some will find it nice, some will not. The 1st time, myself, my hubby and my frens look at it. We were like "ok lor", but after looking at it awhile, we actually find it very nice and perfect for the theme. I understand how you feel. This is actually the 2nd time i selecting my gowns. After the 1st selection, when i go back I am afraid that there might be something nicer and more suitable. Will the gowns give me the effect i want. So i went back to select again. I think most imptly you have to decide what kind of feel u want for your AD.

frennie, guess u better start sourcing ur AD venue soon.. coz ppl usually book 1 year in advance.. i do have the quotes for wedding packages at various hotels.. can share with you if you need.. =)

You have the same AD as me. Im the 1 who booked HIPV on that day. hehe What is your budget?? I think there is about 5 BTB here having the same AD. Its best you act fast or you might have problem getting the place you wanted.
Im also have solemnization on my AD. but still think if I should do it before the banquet or after the 1st March in.
My sister told me that she attended a banquet where the couple have thje solemnization on the stage after the 1st March-in. She said that the place was so noisy that the JP have to ask the ppl to lower their voice. Scary!! But I really wanted all my friends and relative to witness my happiness le. So troubled!
Any advise!!

I hope to decide fast as well, but my HTB is the one tight on work schedule so things are delayed. Dat is why I am kinda frustrated as things don;t seems to be moving. So there might be possibility that the wedding be push back to a later date...

u can request for it to be before ur wedding cocktail. the hotel should be able to arrange a function room (FOC)for you to hold ur solemnization before the banquet dinner.

I've also attended a banquet where the couple had their solemnization on-stage after 1st March-in and sad to say, i also experienced the same thing with ur sis. Either ppl are chatting away or doing their own thing... Tat's one of the reason i intend to hv mine before the banquet. Also to make it more like a private and intimate affair, only very close relatives and frens are invited. Prob ard 30 pax max..
