you have signed the contract with the BS already? Simply make sure that everything is written down in black and white. Do your research too before negotiating, like are there extra charges if u decide to change the WG that u have chosen, any top ups for magazine style album etc...and the issue of poses vs pages...
Yeah, try to keep an open mind....i believe if you are always cordial to them and are reasonable, then they'll treat you back in the same nice way....

the deal seems quite good esp since u are mtm ur WG and EG. Oh, i thot u'll be taking OTR....
Check with them
- how much is the top up for per photo
- what kind of digital cam they are using for ur AD; if the PG is their in-house PG or freelancer
- check with how much top up u will have to pay when adding sequins/beads/lace to ur gown....i understand that there can be quite a big sum of $$ to top up if u want to add lace to ur gown. Personally I'll be most concerned abt this cos its THE gown

and that it can cost a lot to have the gown of ur dream
- the cost of the ampoule
- any additional costs if need to retake PS cos it rained
- bouquet for PS - real or artificial flowers
- what if the photos are not satisfactory
- make sure that all photos they return to u (PS and AD) are high resolution

Then see if there's anything in the package that u dun need and see if can negotiate to exchange for photos or something else.
Basically, try to uncover the hidden costs in the package.

Abt the PG, there shld be quite a few PG...so make sure u view their portfolio and see which PG's style u like best....
Rem, must make sure all these things which they are offering must be written down black and white...cos I read that some terms were reneged after the package was signed....

Hi gals. Sorry tat I din join in the discussion. Busy with my mock exam. Luckily I managed to pass it (though only marginally). Now must study harder for the real exam liao.

Will be getting pay increment next week, think I confirm hit the 8K ceiling liao. So that means I can't buy directly from HDB liao. So I'm only left with the options of buying resale or private property liao. But the problem is I not tat cash rich yet leh. Wat a headache!!!

maybe just to add on to Jac 's list of FAQ -- you can ask them about price per pose and price per page..some studio charge by per pose per page
i also heard some studio charge extra if you need digital touch up/layout or otherwise....
 
Hi gals

I was sick last week. Stil haven't fully recovered. Realised it's due to my new office location. So cold. grr..grr..grr... Fingers can go numb and the numbness stayed even after leaving the building to makan. Pengz. We have to build our immune system man!! Cant fall sick again.

I went for my first gown fitting on Monday. So glad can find the WG and EGs that are suitable for me. Glad I jio a friend to see for me too. She's like my image consultant. haha!! Luckily I can find gowns suitable for me cos I don't have MTM in my package. Heng ah! Both my HTB n friend love the gowns that we have chosen. *Ding Dong Ding Dong Ding Dong Ding Dong!!*

I am abit slow. Only starting to feel the excitement after the gown fitting, not during. Keke.

The hearts are actually candies rite? oh, they look so sweet!! Two hearts would be good, represent both of you. But one heart also looks very nice. If you decide to put two hearts, better make sure they are angled properly, else might look weird, cos if further apart, they look like eyes? Unless you want to make them look like dreamy eyes? keke. Or mayb you can let the other heart's pointed area touch the other heart's pointed area? Got symmetry.

florabliss are you from private sector? what my fren did was to request to 'postpone' the increment until they settled buying the flat from hdb, also resale but at least they got the 40K grant plus the housing loan from hdb. maybe you can consider that lor..

For me at HIPV, the things they have given me is quite comprehensive... so I have nothing more to ask for... =D

Usually you have to bargain more otherwise they will just give whatever they proposed... For my ROM i held it at GCW... it's a disaster coz they refused to give in as well...

I even booked their promenade area at an extra cost coz i really liked it alot... but on the actual day it rained and worst thing is I still have to pay for it... my goodness... in the end we ended having the solemnization at the function room... which was not what we wanted at all... haiz...

I think it all depends on your coordinator... haiz...

I can sense panic attacks in all the March BTB here (including myself)... Hahaha..

To Sweetlady, I'm kinda in a similar boat as you. This MIL issue is kinda sensitive and seems like it's not as easy to handle as i thought.. (which i do not understand why, ain't wedding preps are suppose to be happy and fun?) Dont understand why must they complicate matters to such extent..

I've just confirmed my BS too, but even so my first fitting is only in Jun. Guess there's never too late =)

I think it depends on what you want for your gown and photoshoot etc. just shop around to at least find out what type of gown you prefer. Work out your budget at the same time, so that you can strike out the BS whose price too steep for you

Hi Truff,

For the tradditional chinese wedding cake, you can get from a shop near Hong Lim market, they have quite a large varity. For the english type we bought banganwan solo wedding card to save trouble. Hope it helps

hi anette, I think your package is quite good my friend also signed there and is about the same price as yours. I think Jac is right, you can check out on those that she have listed and most importantly make sure everything is in black and white including top-up photo cost, MTM gown type, AD photography number of photos. You can try and ask them for parent jacket and another jacket for your FB. My friend asked for that.
 
Dear all pretty BTBs, very impressed with your speed of the threads! Looks like everyone's making progress.

For me, I've tried to do some comparison, hopefully to save some bucks. Brought FH to check out 2 photographers and 2 BS. Am impressed that he can differentiate the better one. So in the end, we've settled for Tan Yoong for BS and Kelvin Koh from Lighted Pixels for AD and Pre-Wed shoots!!

In fact FH is so impressed with Tan Yoong that he's asked him to do a cheongsam for our Tea Ceremony!

Now I am just more excited and determined to lose weight to fit into those pretty gowns!

Gers, any of u having banquet at Grand Copthorne? I feel so paranoid by my consultant. after we went thru everything, fr menu to stage deco to ballrm deco then yest night, he called me n tell me he nvr block the day for me n theres another couple infront of us ZZZZZZZZZZZZ.........so angry
