i went to tw for PS, i went to try on gown then let the PG decide, my brain was totally off during the day of PS.
For outdoor shoot you can consider punggol area for lalang, which is more nature and scenic. For indoor shoot you can consider children little museum/ british hainan cafe for something more fun & vintage

prior to PS, i went online to google for some tips and sample, maybe you can browse through:

do you usually visit the wedding showcase offered by the hotels and sign up during the show? is the perks better?
do we have to pay for wedding showcase as i see there is some upcoming showcase and requires a fee.

what are the perks that hotel usually offer?

some wedding showcase requires admission fee, some complimentary.. depending on the hotel/venue.
and yes, perks will be better than the normal package... they might add on free flow of beer/wine, 2nd night stay in bridal suite, complimentary food tasting or $xxx NETT off total bill etc..

u can discuss with the hotel coordinator first.. some will tell u what are the perks they gonna offer during the wedding show..

i signed up with Concorde Hotel last week with the wedding perks that they are going to offer in the upcoming wedding show on 10 May :)

Usually hotels will release the perks for wedding shows 1-2weeks prior to it. After much scouting and site visit, i will be confirming my venue at swissotel merchant court and the coordinator is very nice, he ask us to attend the upcoming wedding show and he will help to waive off the fee

Mm it actually depends. For mine I considered same? Because for bs, what's expensive are the photos. Usually ppl can buy it up to a few k more. Like for mine, although my pre is ex. But I get all the photos I need. So maybe u can research a bit there. It's tough for me to explain. Hahahha

Hi! I heard from my bf's mom that the tong shu will only be out this year Aug (not sure if it is lunar Aug because of the hungry ghost festival).

My bf and I are planning for 2015 Nov

Tong Shu are generic dates. If you want specific good dates for your wedding, you should calculate with your Bazi. You dont have to wait till Aug. Just go to the geomancer and they can do it for you.

We're planning our wedding for Dec 2015, and meeting the Geomancer tomorrow! :)
 
Yea don't need to wait for tong shu. I got my dates last year and my actual day is 21june15. He seemed to have a application on his phone and calculated our bazi and got the date.

I've got a photoshoot in japan so I'm wondering if there's any actual day bridal (gowns+photography) package for recommendation? Looking below $2k
 
Same for me.. my htb insist on waiting for his mom to ask for the date after the tong shu is out after this yr aug..

I guess I can't start with anything tho my bridal package is booked last year.

For Bridal Package
1) What kind of style you like ? ( ok, usually some of the brides don't know what they want, like me until now also which direction for gowns i like)
2) Think about what kind of package u want and its a must to be include in the package:: Full / AD package , Local or oversea prewedding shoots, etc...
3) Look at some gowns from the website and if you like their gown, go down to talk abt the package.

You can try to do both first .... then PG VG ... then....... gradually you will follow the flow already..

Hi all! My fiance and I decided on Oct 2015 for our banquet after consulting a family fortune teller. But ROM will be earlier next year cos our flat will be ready by mid 2015. Anyone here also doing ROM and banquet on different dates?

Hi all! My AD customary will be in December 2015 and my simple ROM at the office will be happening in December this year. Have settled the venue for the banquet. Now looking at bridal for pre-wedding shoot and AD..

I think the bridal part of the wedding is really the most difficult part and giving me such a headache.. Perhaps I'm just asking for it =\ Just gotta blame it on my own fussiness but I can't help it that I'm really particular about my AD gowns. Besides the fact that I must like the gowns I'm also very particular about the quality, the workmanship & that it has to be brand new and never been worn before by another bride.. My dilemma here is that if I take up an OTR package, will my gowns be guaranteed brand new and never been worn before by other brides? Can I trust the BS if they tell me the gown that I like is brand new?? So if I shouldn't trust what they say am I better off taking up their MTM package? Aside from the gowns I feel the MUA is also very much a concern. After all its my Big Day, I feel it's absolutely important that I can entrust it to my MUA to make me look pretty the way I want it. Signing up an all-in-one package with the BS also means that I risk having to deal with poor/bad after-sales service and experience after signing on the dotted line...and I'm worried sick just thinking about all these things.. Gosh I think I sound like a bridezilla already.

I'm not too concerned about the pre-wedding photos cos the album will just be chucked to the storeroom to collect dust after the wedding. If I want a nicer photoshoot I can jolly well find another opportunity to do it in future. What's important for me is the AD which I can't re-enact even if I want to.

Ladies, I need your advice. Do I seem ridiculous and over-reacting? Are my expectations way too high? Do I sound like I'm asking for the impossible here?
I don't know...all I know is I just want my money worth spent. Argh how now??:(

My ROM was in Jul last year & my customary will be in June next year :P
I have it in different year & dates :) so i don't think there's any issue. I thought doing it earlier before my house comes will release my stress.... but i think it does not helped at all as my house probably will come by last quarter this year >_< So i will have to be stressed with house reno + customary ...
Now my hotel is booked .. i have yet to find a bridal studio for the pre-wedding & actual day ... headache...

If your plan to ROM is just to submit the cert to HDB, you can check with HDB indicating you have already booked your hotel in Oct so will provide the marriage certificate to them after you held your wedding. I have friends doing that too.

Btw ladies, what is the market price for bridal packages (actual day + prewedding shoot)? Is it min 3-4k?

Is it very important to have a videographer on your AD? Cos the bridal shop i signed up with doesnt include that.. and i have to pay about $1800 extra just for the video!!!
Mine includes pre-wedding + AD shoot..

2 x Groom's suit

The confusing part is the videography in which the price scared the hell out of me cos its so exp!! I have to pay extra $1800 just for the videography??!
Does BS usually include the videography in the package or they dont?

BTBs pls advise!!

Dont worry your concerns are not new, I'm sure many brides have that concern as well. I will say that you cannot trust the BS to tell you that the gown has never been worn by another bride and will be kept for you. From their point of view, if between the time of your selection till your wedding date, they can rent the gown out to someone else, it is more resource efficient for them. And some BS might also charge you a fee for "booking" the gown because they cannot sell it to other brides, these are all opportunity costs to them. The premium you end up paying, you might be better off taking the MTM package.

As for MUA, I guess researching and trial session is very important so that you can relate your concerns and expectations to your MUA :)

Hi @reecia If you want videography on AD it will be at least around 4.5k and above.

@janice87 I don't think they include, for those that include, the package price is usually higher so in a sense they have already factored the price into the package cost. My friend topped up 2k for hers so I guess 1.8k should be around the standard pricing.

I think its usually 3.5k and above, JB BS is definitely cheaper but I guess you will have to factor in the travel costs everything you go in.

Hello! I've recently booked with Swissotel Merchant Court.

Thanks so much for your good advice, you make perfect sense when you put it this way. I've so far just been browsing the internet for reviews and pictures...yet to make a trip down to any of the BS. Gotta do my due diligence and research well before I actually drop by. Do you have any recommended BS with good reputation and service?

And how is your preparation coming along? :) Have you settled the date yet?
