(2015) 2015 brides??

Hmm. Usually the bridal package if includes the AD photography. The AD photography may not be ur pre wedding photographer.

Cos the cost is higher. So they may get freelancer to do it. And the photos may not be as nice as expected. If u get what I mean.

So still better to source someone that u like his style of AD photography. :) must be able to capture the moments that u would like them to capture.

thanks for the info! 16k for mbs? thats alot... my fren went to check out the place and rec bad service, the rep made her wait for 30 mins and didnt offer an apology or a drink... mbs was 1 of choice until she told me that coz the hotel is far from the wedding venue, the only way to change is mbs open a meeting room there to change but need to share toilet with the public or cross the road in the wedding dress and head back to the hotel room to change...

What they offered the last time is that they have a bridal changing room. They can offer it to the brides to do their change. I think the only problem is when you have multiple weddings on the same day, so they can only offer the room to one couple.

If you all are really interested, can try asking Mbs to reserve the room for you?

Hahaha, i know he is preparing for the proposal already... Coz caught him researching on diamond rings... LOL. So I thought can start preparing after he proposes maybe by mid next year? Then I saw so many 2015 BTB already preparing, booked this and that already, faint. I would be "late" by a year at least! Think I better start reading forums now... Otherwise, no idea where and how to start! I only know must source for banquet place...

Actually depending on who's paying for the bulk of the wedding... If it's just my boyfriend or ourselves, will have to go quite budget too coz we are so broke after paying downpayment for the house... :( If have parents sponsorship then maybe can have nicer wedding hahaha.

That's good to hear that..congrats..

ya..you can read and discuss with the BTBs here to gain more info..or you can seek those "experienced" friends' or relatives' opinion..they can give you some ideas..=)

if you're looking for auspicious date..ya, you have to book early..good luck..

ya..we two pay for the whole wedding, so have to be budget..@@

Tulipkiss, you can start to shortlist all vendors first. After he proposed then go "shopping". :)

Haha true :p wish there's a standard list for things to do..
So after shortlisting those you're interested in, normally you ladies will then attend the wedding events held by the hotel/caterer/studio and book straightaway if price is right?

Yea, but since u guys alr booked ur hse, mayb u can suggest getting a joint ac to save regularly first. That's what we did before my bf proposed. ;) I suggested saving regularly for it to prepare for all the hse expenses but actually that will b where we will b paying for wedding frm cuz we don't have parents sponsorship..

Think most of us here are very kiasu, haha. Myself included. For us it's because of work commitments we can only choose specific months.. Out of these 2 months that we can take, we still have to choose from dates that the shifu gives.. So it only leaves us with abt less than a handful of dates to choose from. Hence we are more kiasu and decide to book early before all the dates we can have it is gone... Majority of the ppl will book ard 1 year in advance. But if u have specific dates or requirements or need to see the shifu then think advisable to start slightly more than a year at least. My cousin booked his 10mths before and didn't a mange to get his choice hotel cuz he was particular about the dates.

On the other hand, if u don't intend to consult a shifu and most weekends are fine with u I think 1 year is very safe. When I went to research in July, they still have weekend dates for most hotels that they are trying to clear. Some hotels offer extra perks for their wedding shows while trying to clear these dates. ;)

Hahah, I found some apps for wedding that has a checklist and a timeline for u to get things done! One was called Perfect Weddings. U can go check out too! But no need to follow too strictly. Think u can read around and roughly make amendments to it and customize it to ur own use.. :p it's quite cute

Thanks for the suggestion! I think a joint account for wedding would be good, esp to hint to him “faster propose!!” lol.

I guess you’re a teacher? :p so right now we should probably start off by choosing some preferred dates first. then shortlist hotels, attend the hotels’ wedding events.. and at the same time can check if the preferred dates are available?

Which shifu did you consult? :) Our families aren’t that superstitious, but personally I feel that it’s quite an exciting experience to consult a shifu for an auspicious date! Somehow will make the wedding date feels even more significant (if we use the shifu’s dates la) haha.

I heard about the pool platform solemnisation, i heard it cost 10+k for just the platform solemnisation... not sure if my friend is doing on the pool or beside it... I will share my thoughts and hopefully some pics as well...

day dream is a start! try to visualize what u want on the day and work from there.... and of course the budget... like how much u r willing to spend on the wedding bands, wedding gowns, pre-wedding shoot etc etc.... i quite kiasu, i actually bought a file and when i see sth i like, i print or tear off from the magazine and put it in the file...

There's an app called Wedding Planning Complete which seems quite comprehensive, you ladies can try :)
Had downloaded a wedding spreadsheet, gonna go through it as a checklist to see what kind of things i have to prepare and budget for!

Yah, it's $13,888++. The standard I checked previously would be solemnisation on the platform (JP and couple), guests would be seated by the side of the pool. Not sure whether got other types of combinations or packages anot..

Wow you're so garang! I normally view things online... so will probably screenshot or take photos of the magazine and save in photo folder instead..

maybe you can make arrangement to meet them and check out the venue or what they have to offer... my fren who is getting married there on 5 oct couldn't meet the minimum tables required so they came to a consensus of having to spend a minimum amount of money, think she only has less than 28 tables and the rest spend it on the after wedding party...

haha i teared it from my magazines plus it's the boyfriend suggested to have physical copies especially wedding gowns... so when I visit the bridal shop, i can show them what i like... :)

Possible to have 2 kinds of "cuisines" served at wedding lunches/receptions?
I would like to have a more western theme wedding. But my elderly relatives do not appreciate western food n I'm afraid they might most likely end up not eating anything :(

So a half-half, like maybe western for 20 tables, with fork n knife, n Chinese for 10 tables with chopsticks n spoon would be good..
Anyone seen this before?

Sounds interesting but not sure if it is feasible though.

Why don't you go for an international buffet instead? Both western and Chinese food can be served and they can enjoy what they like :)

I think they can do it. But usually western is buffet style. So gotta check with the hotel. Cos mine is half vegetarian and half Chinese. So they will charge accordingly.

International buffet?.. Then can I hold it at a hotel still? Coz I though hotels usually will have their standard 8/9/10-course packages..

Hahaha, yea.. To plan my honeymoon more conveniently I need to wed during the hols..

I consulted Master Long. :) I am not very superstitious either but my htb's parents are. Doesn't affect me much whether I ask or not so no harm I went to consult.

definitely... hotels provide international buffet... it's actually cheaper to have international buffet then having 8-9 course chinese dinner... i used to work in conrad when i was a teenager (17 - 21), i have never seen 20 tables of western and then 10 tables of chinese food... but i believe can try coz for muslim, they serve also 4 course meal on table together with chinese food...

Not too late , just that we planned early. Haha

Don't need wait until BF proposed la.... As long as you both have the same directions you can start plan your wedding.

My BF haven proposed too. We are still waiting for our house to be ready .. also estimate around 2015.
We had already went to Master for date selection. I had just chosen and custom made my proposal ring, can't trust guy in choosing this expensive stuff. haha i want my ring to be worthwhile and not disappointment. Also, both of us can enjoy the process in choosing the ring. So now waiting for the ring to be ready and let's see when he will "surprise" me with a proposal

Hi ChezzieL, I'm on quite a tight budget as well. AD 2015, BTO coming up 2016 (but usually pple says the flat will be ready abt a yr in adv.
The buffer time is not really enough to save up for reno and furnitures!

So what I do nw is to shortlist all the vendors, then next yr start to go for wedding shows/fairs.

how much budget do you all usually set aside? I have not do any budgeting yet.
House renovation will be clash in the same period of wedding, so I will hv a big burn hole too.

@Phoebenghx : at first was Michelle but she is not feeling well keep coughing than she ask her colleague Rei to assist. From there i had been liasing with Rei.
All staffs are good in explain the different aspect of diamonds ... however comes to opinion, Rei do not dare to give extra opinion. I understand her point because diamond is really very individual, some pple cares abt the size while other care about color. You can just set a budget and spect you want and they can try to find the diamonds that matches your requirement. For me, we give them the spect and budget to work on. Rei found 2-3 diamonds for me to choose from, I give my bf to make the final decision.

I see, your ring setting is with or without side diamonds? You chose super ideal cut or cushion brellia?
I kinda like filigree ring setting but not sure if it would add additional cost to the ring.
