Hi all,
Just thought we’d share our experience with Yvonne Creative (YC). Initially, we had signed up with them at the BOWS fair after checking out several studios due to their reasonable pricing and we quite liked the dresses in their inventory; the shoots they had also looked really professional.
After the first meeting with Yvonne and Fiona, where they had taken our measurements and the designs we had shown them, we went for our first fitting session to try on the made-to-measure dress.
The dress was not what we had expected. It didn’t look like what we had presented at all and we felt as if our worst fears were being realized. We felt quite disappointed but despite this, we just smiled and nodded politely because we felt awkward about telling them that we really didn’t like it.
Not quite sure what to do, I typed a long text a few nights later to Yvonne explaining that we would like to change the dress as it just wasn’t what we had in mind. Little did we know that she had already started making a new dress for us already! Somehow, she had sensed that we were not comfortable with the first dress and had already started creating a new one from scratch for us.
Not only did her gesture touch us, the dress was simply breath taking on my bride-to-be, who honestly looked like a goddess in the dress (if I do say so myself). We both really liked it and the dress wasn’t even fully completed yet.
We then went on to choose the remaining 4-5 dresses for the pre-wedding shoot from the fairly large inventory of dresses in the three-storey building. Fiona was extremely helpful and patient with us, taking numerous dresses on and off the rack, helping my fiancée with her dress and then asking her to try another few more. I felt exhausted looking at her while I sat there “grading” the dresses, the usual torture most other grooms are subjected to (I’m kidding, it was actually quite fun to see my fiancée model so many dresses for me).
The subsequent fittings, the bridal car decorations, the suits, the flowers etc were all up to our expectations. It was a pleasure to work with them. Even the uncle who touched up our photos took extra time and effort to show us how he did it and did a marvelous job on the album. We actually learnt a thing or two from him about photo-shop (which was used mainly on me).
Overall, it was a good experience we had with them, with the exception of the initial jitters at the start. Ultimately though, honest communication with them yielded generally positive results. They genuinely understand that it’s every couple’s one special day and they went out of their way to make sure we were happy with the final product, which we were appreciative of.
Hope you guys find as much satisfaction with the studio as we did.
Cheers.
