When to send our SAVE THE DATES?

hey people,

Just wondering... when did u send out your Save The Dates card prior to the big day?
Am working my schedule backwards to see when is the best time to have pre wed photos taken and use it as part of the cards.

My wedding is in March and I just sent mine out a couple of days ago. I guess just whenever you get a confirmed date then the formal invitation can follow closer to the date.

My AD is dec next year.
Planning to use pre wed photo as part of the save the dates cards so need to work time backwards to decide when to take the photos.
Plus, my job surrounds a lot of guests that will be holidaying during the year end hence I may need to inform them earlier cause they can book their flights way in advance.

Yup... Mine involves family flying in from overseas as well so I gave them maple time to prepare
