Hi
Just to share, I am currently using a Bosch Maxx Classic. The model no is WAE20260 and I've attached a photo of it from the Bosch Singapore website. I've been using it for the last 2 yrs.
So far, for our clothing, which includes sweaty clothes from the gym, we use the Easy Care - Intensive cycle which takes about 1hr 22 min (with Rinse Plus). It washes at 40oC and spins at 800rpm. You can choose higher temp if you want to, but that works for us. Our clothes are hung on bamboo poles indoors at the balcony and they are hung out in the afternoon and dry by the next afternoon. I have never used anything more than 800rpm to spin my clothes.
For delicate clothing (esp my blouses, I just hand wash them).
Some tips for washing and drying your clothes:
- Do not stuff the machine full with clothes. The maximum amt of clothes I put into the machine (when the clothes are dry) is that the machine drum should not be more than 3/4 full. If you overstuff the machine, the clothes can't wash properly and it will not be clean, no matter what washing machine you use.
- Get a suitable detergent. Some detergents are too bubbly while others don't work well for some washing machines. I find that the Orange coloured liquid Dynamo detergent works very well with my Bosch front loader.
- Make sure you have sufficient space to hang your clothing, otherwise if the clothes are hung too closely together, they won't dry properly and they will have a funky odour.
If you have seriously soiled (and smelly) clothes, get this detergent call Napisan. Put a bit of it in a pail, soak the clothing in there overnight and then the next day, put it into the washing machine with all the other clothing. The smelly clothing will have no traces of odour. I did that for my hubby's sleeping clothes which started smelling of him

You can buy Napisan from selected NTUC Unity stores (not all of them carry it).
This is the Napisan if you are interested.
IMHO, dryers are the ones that take up a huge amount of electricity.
Hope this helps!
