The Fullerton Hotel Singapore

hey vivan,
i dun have pics of it. I actually didnt view the ballroom cos I was overseas but my FH did. Guess you can check out the pic at: http://www.fullertonhotel.com/en/meetings/WeddingsAtTheFullerton.html

From what I gather the ballroom is quite ok except for the flight of stairs from the entrance leading to the ballroom itself. I think it's rather special.

If you want pics, i'll actually be attending a wedding there a week and a half from now so just let me know i'll arm myself with a cam then

Hi everyone,

I'm also having my wedding at FULLERTON on dec 2008. So far for sharon is still ok la...but like wat she told everyone...she is busy and will onli contact us 2 mths before our wedding. I'm anxious to know more too but since she already say she will be busy than no point for us to disturb her too rite(at least she tell us before hand)??

yes sharon that really true. yah better dun disturb her.. What do you want to know? perhaps I can help u ask her since we've been contacting each other abt my event?

That's the thing, Sharon is "ok", and just that. popprincesstrin, have you thought of what theme to use for your wedding at fullerton?

hey dart, are u referring the theme given by them? I havent quite gone thru all the themes cos she showed me only 2 (a candle one and another with crystals / some chandelier like thing as centrepiece) for my ROM next month. I'll be going for the one with the tall candlesticks as the centrepiece for all my tables. She's giving me this pink / purple plus a bit of silver colour theme for my ROM this yr. The room will be decorated with gerberras. I will want to go for a colour theme next yr since she was saying the decor / theme may change for wedding next yr. Btw, I got the lovely bi-fold invitation cards (with the rose paper exterior) for my ROM this yr. Have u decided on urs?

Hi Everyone,
I'm having my wedding at Fullerton ballroom this Dec. But planning it from overseas. Would like to know what kind of decorations are provided by the hotel. Does Fullerton have a theme? And I wouldn't be able to do any food tasting so any recommendations on the dishes to choose from? Thanks everyone!

Hi JSG, there r quite a few themes to choose from frankly. It depends on what you want really. just to be fair, I wld say the co-ordinator has been quite accommodating to my wants n I've made slight modifications here n there. I havent quite tried the food as yet cos mine's next yr but I'll be attending a wedding there in a week's time. perhaps i'll b able to contribute my 2 cents' worth then!

So theme do you gers pick?? i dun even know wat type of theme they have...i'm so clueless for my own wedding...

hey sharon, wait for her to contact you. She'll show you the pics with all the themes n decor in there
happy.gif
I do have a colour theme in mind already so if fullerton is unable to accommodate based on the themes they have, I'll probably get my own stuff

Hey BTB...fullerton is having a wedding show on 1st nov 2008...faster go to their website to print the form and register...seat are on 1st come 1st served basis...

hey popprincesstrin, so wat theme u have in mind?? remember to tell us more on the wedding u will be attending soon...

hey sharon, mine's most likely going to be a colour theme for AD. I wasnt thinking of doing a colour theme for my ROM but I think it will most likely end up as pink and purple cos of the colours of my favours (i got my favours on my own) and I think sharon was nice enough to offer flowers and decor in pink and purple in addition to the basic decor I will be having based on the thing I have chosen from her book.

Not sure if I will be attending the wedding show cos I have more or less worked out my AD details with her so and I dun really want to make comparisons between what I was given by and they actually offer during the show.

Hi

I called fullerton 2 days ago wanted to book 03 jan 2010 but they said they are not open for bookings yet.

My initial wedding date was 03 jan 2009.

Last year october I tried calling them, sending them emails and even went down personally to check on the dates. Again and again they tell me its not open for bookings. Being kiasu i called them almost everyweek. Until near december, they told me that the couple booked the date LONG TIME AGO. I was very disappointed with them and did a complaint.

This time round they tell me the same thing, "first come, first serve". I can't possibly be sitting outside their wedding banquet department and wait for them to let me book the date i want.

The worst part is they can't tell me when they are going to accept bookings for 2010.

Can any kind soul please advise me on this.

Hi Vanilla,

May i know who is the person you are toking to regarding all the abv bookings? My advise is, you can try to call sharon yeo, she is the sales manager and i think she will give you a better ans.

Maybe the package isn't out yet or they r holding the date for someone else who may have called earlier. It's quite strange actually cos I booked my dinner for nov 09 in June this yr. Try again after F1 cos catering sales is very busy with F1 and they are moving office.

Hey sharon, the wedding I attended was really lovely. I tot the only sad thing was tt the ballroom was kinda longish so if the guests seated on the extreme ends prob wldnt be able to see the stage itself. If you are having ard 35 tables then I guess ur guests wldnt land up in the extreme ends. Although the one I attended was 40 tables,it was rather spacious. Food was individually plated by the wait staff serving the table (nt the lazy susan type). Drinks were served continuously i.e. if ur glass is empty, they'll serve another drink but I understand from Sharon they do not do this unless it is requested by the hosts (cos it can burn a big hole in the pocket). I alone had 4 glasses of wine that nite. decor wise for VIP table is this candle chandler thing (which I think may be the same one I'll b having for ROM) and alternate table had this silk bouquet in the middle of the table perched in a VERY tall vase. My fren sarcastically commented tt he wldnt know when the vase will topple over when a wait staff asked if he could remove it. Kinda dangerous but very nice! All tables (includ. the cocktail n reception) were scattered with very nice rose petals. Probably the best wedding I attended this week (I had 3..)

Hi Sharon,

I din really ask for the names cos i called them afew times. And do you think i can call their main banquet line to make appointment with sharon? I think i wana go down personally to talk to her and believe the chances is higher to book the date i want. "CROSSED MY FINGER"

Hi popprincesstrin

Since they tell me that they are not open for 2010 bookings i doubt anyone else would have booked the date. If its dat case, i will be extremely disappointed with fullerton. ANW i'm gonna try to contact sharon to make appointment with her.

Hi popprincesstrin, glad to know that u have enjoy the dinner there...
happy.gif

Hmmm...i guess what i'm worried now is the food. Cos i dun seems to get positive feekback for the food that they are serving. So if the food up to standard? Ya...i also realise that the room is kind of long so ppl sitting at the corner will nt get to see the stage. We can onli rely on the screen than. Cos i have gt a videographer that will do a "live-video" for mi...

Hi Vanilla,
Do you have sharon's contact? Need us to provide you wif it?

Hi Sharon

I don't have her direct number. I actually intend to call the wedding banquet line to look for her.

Another thing is i read alot of feedback about her. Do you think she will entertain me when i call her? Kind of worried. I don't mind going down tho.

Hi Vanilla,

I have her number. But i dunno is it right to post it here. I think u can email mi? my email is [email protected]. Than i give u the DID.

I personally feel tat she is quite ok. Cos last yr when i called up to book the date, the date that i wanted is already nt available. So i asked her to check what other dates is available and we juz manage to get all the available dates within the range we wanted and check which is the best dates among all those provided by her. So overall i still think tat she is quite friendly. And she also keep on telling us that she is beri sorry that she is always nt available(beri busy wif other couples wedding).

popprincesstrin, guess it's better to check with her if you can bring in your own things. From what i know, it's best that you use everything that Fullerton has.

hey dart, I have actually spoken to Sharon abt that so I guess it's ok. We got our favours from US and will be using the ones we have
happy.gif
Hey Vanilla, I suggest you wait till F1's over cos the poor gal's really busy. I think it's quite bad cos I have amendments for my banquet event order next week and I havent receive the amended copy. Alternatively, you can call one of her assistants, Val?

Hi there,

I just came in to this thread as my friend asked me to come in to find out more. I heard there uis a wedding show coming up in November. Anyone going for this show? Heard their service ratio is 1 to 1 which i think is good.

hey dart, oh, it's e ROM thing I'm talking abt. Sorry for the confusion. Oh yes, when will u be getting married? have u settled on ur themes etc? I'll be having my ROM like in 2 days! argh!

hey yoghurt lover, I signed with them already so I'm not sure whether I'm going or not though I dun mind going down to 'kpo' (but I dun think they'll need an 'extra' hanging ard..). The show is on 1st Nov if I m not wrong. Better sign up asap!

Thanks Popprincess. Was wondering if i can go on the day to sign instead of signing up now as i might have to work that day and don't wish to waste money paying for the show and end up not going.

Hi, yoghurt lover...i'm not sure if u can sign up on that day itself... cos i will be goin and they will actually send you a mailer one week in advance and you have to bring it along to the wedding show. So i guess u better call up fullerton to check 1st...

Hi popprincesstrin, congrats on ur ROM...enjoy ur day and keep us updated on ur very impt day k...

Hey Sharon! Sorry for the delay. Yes I enjoyed my ROM although there were tiny hiccups here and there. I didnt remember my bouquet but Sharon got me one in time. Phew! it's really lovely. The food was great and most of the guests enjoyed the food. THe desert was great too. I was quite worried initially cos the guest I invited that day were rather particular with their food. It must have been quite satisfying cos even my mum gave the nod for the hotel (she had initially told me to look for another hotel just in case Fullerton wasn't up to expectations and just forgo the 5k deposit etc). Dun laugh at me k.. I didnt even dare to look at my bf during the entire thing just in case I burst out laughing! I'll be posting my pics up on multiply http://trinachang.multiply.com . Should be up in an hr!

Hey popprincesstrin, thanks so much for the information and u really make mi feel more "an xin" nw. Cos i was so worried abt the food, was so afaid that it is not up to standard.

Saw your photos. A beri pretty lady indeed. Enjoy.

Hey Sharon dun worry abt the food. Initially I heard that Fullerton's food was horrible but after attending a wedding dinner there in sep and having my own function there recently, that's prob going to be the least of my concerns. Which menu will u be choosing? have u decided?

Hmmm...actually i'm still considering...haven really decide on which menu to choose. Have u decide on urs? Which are the dishes which u think are very nice?

I got my favours from mymms.com, costs abt sgd 10 odd per tin
happy.gif

hey sharon, i think mine's prob a diff menu next yr (i'm not sure) but the wedding i attended served the palladian menu (if I am not wrong). The deser -- yam pure with caramel banana was especially interesting and I think it appealed to me cos i've got sweet tooth. The roast chicken was very good too ( They had also the rice with foie gras which I tot was interesting but I would have preferred the foie gras in smaller pieces (like melt in the mouth u noe). The only complaint I have is prob the veg which doesnt taste very tender. Frankly, I dun think one can go seriously wrong with the choices of food but do make sure u have a gd mix of dishes
happy.gif

Hi popprincesstrin, thanks so much for sharing. I really think that they have quite alot of unique and special dishes which u dun see it else where.*Thumbs Up*
Ur comments would really help mi in choosing the dishes for my AD.

how come no one has Rendall as their coordinator? my HTB and I feel that he is very pro too...and we had sign up for the wedding show in nov so as to enjoy more perks....wld be getting Rendall as my coordinator definitely!

Hi everyone, any idea if i were to take up fullerton wedding dinner package and intending to hold my solemnisation on the same day (eg a couple of hrs before the dinner), will fullerton throw in a free room for the solemnisation to take place?

btw popprincesstrin, can send mi your ROM package as well? [email protected]

Thanks!

Hi,

i got rendall as my coordinator. he is very prompt to replying our emails etc. my concern is the food portion. heard comments tt it is rather small. mine is a lunch wedding. i don wan my guests to leave still feeling hungry...we will get an earful from my in laws...

anyone can comment on their food portion..

<babiebreath> my plan is similar as urs, only mine is a luncheon and urs a diner...rendall (my coordinator) did tell me there wld be additional cost...but nevertheless, u still can try ur luck asking for a free one...

I m also doing my solemization on the same day.rendall shared that the roof garden comes with the straits room. I am using the ballroom and there is a charge if i wan to use roof garden. He suggested doing my solemization either on the stage or foyer
