Hi there! So far, from what i see on the forum, no fantastic thing was said bout fullerton. But I am considering between fullerton and intercontinental for my wedding dinner... and my FH likes fullerton.. Any advises or experiences to share? Esp more about fullerton since i have not been there for a wedding myself.

Just visited Fullerton yesterday. Both FH and I love the ballroom. Anyone care to share what additional perks we can neg for? esp re the wine corkage. Would be great if somebody can share photos too! =)

My email is [email protected]

Hi Maggie,
Whats the perk you had? Is your coordinator Agnes? Mine is ;) Agnes is very good and detail. Thumbs up.

I guess the package is still the same now, just that I managed to have the following changed :

- 30% parking
- Wavier of 30 bottles of duty paid wine OR 24 bottles of house wine (and if I bring in another 6 more bottles, wavier of corkage charge)
- Food testing for 8

Other than these prominent ones, I cannot remember cos I am overseas now ;)

Thanks morghanjess!

Is yours weekday or weekend? I havent decided which one to have.

My coordinator is supposed to be Agnes, but she was not free to meet us yesterday. So her catering sales adminstrator, Sherry, met up with us instead. Sherry is v nice too! =) Think end up if I sign, coordinator will be Agnes. So its great to hear that she's good.

I only managed to get 25% parking. And yes food tasting for 8. Wine wise is either 18 free or waiver for 36. Hmmm...so maybe I should neg for more wine perks...kekeke.

Hello Maggie,
Mine is on a weekend because we have a church service in the afternoon ;)

You should try to neg for more, but like the rest of the FBTB said, they do have certain limits. So do not be sad if you cannot get more, but rest assured that (and I believe), it is worth having AD there! ;)

I believed Sherry shown you the suite room as well right (if it is available), its really ENCHANTING!

hi! Anyone has done their food tasting and not pleased with some dishes? I heard e hotel allows second food tasting for some dishes wo paying? Is it true?? The hotel is so stingy and the pkg is not cheap so i better check & make sure food quality is good...or writing to the director will help?

In my case, the wedding coordinator did not tell the kitchen my requested change in dish for the prawn item. We were served with lotus root and prawn when we actually wanted wasabi. We realised the mistake only after we ate the lotus root and prawn... we told the kitchen and they immediately prepared wasabi prawn for us, on the spot.

The wedding coordinator previously told us that if we are not pleased with one dish, we can request for sampling an alternative dish on the food tasting day itself.. so I think it won't be a second food tasting day. It's like, full portion of the dish.. if dun like, then a bit of the alternative.

hi kiringal - better check with Fullerton on the latest pricing...cos mine may be outdated. I signed with them in Oct last year. For my solemnisation, I paid $4K - 4.5K to rent the East Garden. Can't remember the exact amt. ;p This includes everything you see there - flowers, sound system, set-up, covered chairs, gazebo. For dinner, i had 50 tables.. menu was $989+++ per table or something like that. Then you got to add in the cost for wine and beer consumption.

Ash, what do u mean by gazebo?
Is it the kind of tentage?
My wedding should be in May. I am a little worried, cos i expect to have 25-30 tables but i wan it on sunday. But the sunday min is 35 tables.

So got headache, any advise anyone?

Hi Kiringal,
Good morning.

What you can do if you really want 25-30 tables and to have it in Fullerton, is to top up/modify more items to your menu selection, so that the amount for 25-30 tables will meet the cost for 35 tables. Maybe this can help to ease your worries. But you will have to think if it is still within your budget. Alright ;)

yup...the gazebo in the East Garden is like a tentage, right in front. is there any way u can increase your guest list to 35 tables? else you can try to negotiate with the hotel to see if you can do 32 tables...or guarantee a certain amt of wine consumption? see if that's possible.

Hi Ash, can u pls send me your pictures as well. [email protected]

U had a outdoor dinner at e east garden? or just the solemnisation? my FH & I like e east garden but not too sure wats e arrangement like.. do they do up e decor etc?

Thx!

hi,

may i know if anyone has encountered a situation whereby you cannot meet the minimum number of tables for your wedding?

What happens then? Do u have to just accept the losses or does the hotel allow you to "spend" the un-used tables on the hotel's services and products (e.g buying wine, food and beverage vouchers)?

anyone knows?

hi junegroom, it will be stated in the contract on the amount of penalty you need to pay. I.e. the rental cost of the ballroom.

Hi JuneGroom, sometimes, you can negotiate to increase to value of the menu to the minimum revenue (rental cost of the ballroom. Every venue has a minimum revenue which they wil have to charge for the rental of the entire ballroom.

hi junegroom,

you can change your menu to a higher value or includes other things such as wine or beer to meet the min revenue that is stated in the contract.

hi junegroom,

i've signed up with the fullerton and our contract is for min revenue. just to let you know that there is a caveat to what you spend on, it can only be for food and beverage. ie. say you had excess money to spend and wanted a room for your bridal party, that spend won't count towards the min revenue.

So your options are limited to upgrading your menu or on alcohol (and their wines are way overpriced) so good luck!

Its been a long time, but thanks Ash for the photos and morghanjess for all the advice!

I've signed with The Fullerton! AD will be in Sept 2007. Really looking forward to it now. =)

Dear All

I am thinking of holding my wedding banquet at Fullerton. Would you mind sharing your experiences or photos with me? I am just worried about the cost.. But it would be a dream come true for me to hold it there

HiAll,
I've just completed my wedding at fullerton about a month ago.
The experience on the actual day...with reliable staff like Desmond and William (banquet Manager) who were there to keep the whole show going smoothly....made us forget that our wedding coordinator Evelyn Joseph was such a huge disappointment.
The service staff was good, we had fast and efficient service with checking in,...settling down in our bridal suite...getting good room service etc...It was a very nice and cosy hotel.
Well...maybe other brides had a better experience with Evelyn Joseph. But her insincere, and lukewarm service that was not forthcoming enough was a big black mark to our otherwise - wonderful wedding experience.
Good Luck to all...

Congrats seabreeze!!
Pls share your beautiful pics with us k

Is Evelyn really tat bad?!?!
She's also my coordinator wor... *scratch head*
My Ad will be in Jun next year.. Hopefully everything goes well...

Hi Seabreeze,

Congrats!! Glad to hear that you had a great time! How was the food at Fullerton? Is the quantity of food really small? How about the quality?

Thanks Thanks...

Hi seabreeze, congratulations! I hope you have enjoyed your wedding even though the coordinator wasn't good enough!

Hi nitestarz, the chocolate fountain will be served during the pre-dinner reception.

Hi happylife, where have you been? Been on holidays? Anyway glad to hear from you. I am thinking of having an after-dinner recept thing. May I know how much is the set up for the pre-dinner reception?

Hi nitestarz, I just came back on Wed from BKK after a week there. I'm not sure if they will serve after dinner cos it might be too late. The chocolate fountain is $20/pax(min 60 person). ;)

Hi pple,

Have not visited this thread for quite some time after I confirmed my booking with Fullerton since this June
happy.gif
Now I am looking for actual day videographer and somebody experience in doing live feed. Can past brides recommend me some reliable and good videographer as I understand most couples having their wedding at Fullerton will have live feed.

Thanks a million

I'm also considering doing live feed for my wedding. Haven't decided yet though cos understand from my videographer it may be troublesome. May need to get 2nd videographer - one to do the live feed, the other to continue running ard to film. Can past brides share their experience in this aspect?

Hi all,
New to this thread so appreciate your input

Had read all the good & bad comments about holding wedding banquet at Fullerton.
Anyone up there has picture of the wedding theme layout in this hotel? I personally had went to the ballroom and both my bf and I like the setting there. Hence considering this place. Any picts, kindly email me at [email protected]
Thanks!!

Hi JuneGroom,
To answer ur query on not able to meet the minimum no, of table on ur wedding, I had enquired most hotels, and most of them practise in this way:
No refund for sure for the tables, but instead, they will allow us to pack the dry food back.
Or they will portion those food to the existing invitees so that there will be no wastage of food.
Hope this helps. Or anyone can share their experience if this is not the usual way they do.

hi, i had my wedding at fullerton last month. my hubby and i are glad that we held the dinner there.

the coordinator, agnes chan and her colleague, sherry lim have been a great help during the wedding preparations. i would give agnes two thumbs up for her professionalism and patience with me, being a fussy bride to be..

during the AD, the banquet manager and the AV and lighting staff (whom i forgot the names) were also great help to my helpers.. they made the whole show run so fluidly..

based on my guests' feedback,
1)the service staff were prompt in responding to the guests.
2)jade was generous with the food portion.. in fact quite a number of my guests said they had double portions of each dish.. we were previously very concerned abt this after we heard so much abt the food portion.. but i guessed jade had stepped up its socks.. then the chef in charge of my dinner, whom we met during the food tasting, delivered his promises to make good our "complaints" about the food (during the food tasting)
3)the food was tasty to most of my guest except for a few who tot that the food was not up to their expectation..
4)the food was also served warm and timely..
5)ambience in the ballroom is fantastic needless to say..

all in all, my hubby and i had a great dinner and we are thankful for that!

hope you guys will have as much fun as we did.. =)

Hi Pandaliz,

I'm so glad that you had a great experience. And congrats to your big day!I am also going to hold it at Fullerton. Unfortunately, Agnes will no longer be my coordinator as she has had a change of job role. =(

Are you able to share any pics with me?

Thanks!
