Think they have a wedding luncheon on tmr, 11 June. The couple topped up for the deco. Angela told us when we were there last weekend, but i forgot which theme liao.

hi Marriott brides,

do remember to apply for the Marriott Rewards card from their international web site. I have my banquet last year and given points that is enough for us to redeem 7 nights stay in US or 1 night stay in Europe (incl. Athens, Paris, Rome, London)/ Asia for your honeymoon

Though I found marriott was quite stingy on their perks, but afterall I still find that all we needed were provided. e.g. like free flow of beer, redeem 6 bottles of wine, free projector, free helper's room, given sufficient invitation cards, free flower petals for march-in, cocktail area is decorated with ribbons, the cocktail also have some mixed nuts provided. and just mentioned, we are given 1N stay in Marriott if we visit Europe.

Also, the AV technician was very nice and gave us great help while selecting our music. Made an appointment with him, he got a long list of songs and good recommendations.

We worked with Angela and Christine for our wedding, they are very nice and accommodating.

Lemoncake, thankf for d info. U mean u negotiate and got free flow of beer?? How many tables did u have? Weekdays or weekends? Cos i'm still @ d deciding stage though my coordinator, Stephanie has tentatively blocked dates for me. Nexy yr package only comes wif 20L of beer plus 10L(under additional perks if i want).

Hi Gintonic,

Mine was a weekday with 36 tables, that time they promote 42 tables to be eligible for free flow of beer, at the end they changed the number to 36 during the wedding show. between, really worth getting their house wine, many of our friends and colleagues commented the wine taste very good and even asked about the name and brand. because it was a weekday, consumption of wine and beer was quite low. Actually Angela told me that weekday wedding usually consumes less beer and wine, so 30L of beer is enough.

Last time I was deciding between Hotel Intercontinental and Marriott too. Both are as good, but HI didn't give me perks, charge me for every items.

Hi Lemoncake, are u given a card upon yr Rewards registeration?? i have applied but so far no news of the card leh.

I register it online, so waited quite a few months to receive the card from the HQ in USA. Remember to give the number and show the card to your coordinator. Also, the account statement is sent to us like every 6 months. So I have my banquet at the end of last year, but I only received all the points 2 days ago.

Hi Pearly,

about 1 month before you wedding, the coordinator would call you up to arrange for a meeting. The meet up is to figure out what kind of set up you want, timing of the wedding process, like when to do the 1st and 2nd march-in, how many out fits you want to change and when to change. Then you would be asked about the colour of lighting you want to have, like purple for march-in, pink for 1st half, orange for 2nd march-in, room light for 2nd half. actually i only mentioned that i want to have "petal shower" during the 1st march-in, then my coordinator said she can request for the extra petals (since they need these for our table decor). Maybe you have to wait till this meeting then arrange with your coordinator

Act. never attend any wedding @ Marriott before so not too sure abt how the whole feeling will be like. Wow.. at least you gave me a headstart on what to expect. Really appreciated.

Btw which theme did you choose?

Hi Gin,

It's the Marriott card. I think when you sign up with the hotel, they'll give it to you. Since you would already have to spend quite a bit, so don't worry about the minimum spending part.

Stephanie told me it's 3 Marriott for every US$..

I'm not sure. Really cos I'm only thinking of using the points after the banquet. As for now, we have no points. Only can use the card as a member.

Hi all, i went to view their favours. They have chopsticks, magnets, tea bags and wedding bells. i chose magnets cos the figurings r cute!!!

Hi gals

I went for the Marriott show on last sat. The new favours were very nice especially the bells and magnets. There will be new themes next year and the VIP set-up for the tables are very nice.

Not sure what are the new themes cos was told by Stephine that there are new themes coming out next year. I only saw the VIP tables set up in red and gold theme, especially like the gold theme as it look very elegant and classy.

Hi pei,

My friend had planned some games for her guests at her banquet. Well it was quite happening cos it actually boost up that mood and everybody was like part of that special memory. Well of cos, you got to prepare some prizes otherwise no one will bother you, hahaa! Well for my friend, hers was like some questions &amp; answers games as well as some riddles etc. Though it may sound common but the guests were rather proactive and work as a team among each table to join in..Quite nice!
