HI Ashes, i just got their Wedding Gown, mine is a full lace with a slightly bigger trail. Its at S$2500. I beleive the cost varies with the type of wedding gown that you take.
So you got to ask whichever designer that served you.

By the way, i was keen to loan / rent the kua from Silhoutte for photo shoot.... do u think they will allow?

I will go for my 1st measurement either end of this mth or beginning of next mth.

err...i dunno whats her name wor, she is not very tall, and looked kinda 'experienced', saw her sewing some embriodery, might be a designer?

Nik nik, the gown which i like is a full lace gown too! and it has a corset inside, which i like. hehe! have seached some BS at tanjong pagar, cannot even find one similiar to it... hai~~

HI Sanza and Ashes,

I didnt buy the gown, its only a rental fee.

Mine was not with any corset inside,so i actually bought a corset for it.

I dont have any pic as yet, cos i didnt take any picture during my 1st trial. Will go back end of this month or early next month for my 1st measurement, so maybe by then will take soem picts.

Once again, u girls need to check with the designer directly on the rates and prices... really depend on the design of the gown.

hi girls!

I've just signed up with Silhouette and was advice to go select my gown soon (my AD is in Sep 09). is it too early? Mine is a OTR package.

Also, i understand that one i select the gown now i cannot change my mind if i see a nicer one in future, is this true? anyone managed to change their minds? as i quite often have problem making up my mind..i really need advice on this...hehe

thanks in advance!!

hi lala,
nope, it won't be too early to choose your OTR gown as the nicer ones would have normally been booked way in advance. So if you see a gown that you really like, then i would suggest that you book it cos if other brides book the gown, you won't be able to get it as Silh doesn't recycle the gowns among brides.

yes, you cannot change the gown that you've chosen....so make sure the gown you've chosen is one that you like. same advice as i've said - make sure the gown you've chosen is really the gown.

Silhouette brides, what if you are unable to select the gown you want, can you wait until the next batch of gowns come in or have to MTM, how much to top up to the package if you choose MTM later on? Thanks!

hi jasmine

yes you can wait till the next collection to select but from what i understand from them, the next collection will only be launched next year in may?? so not too sure if that will be in time for your wedding.

jasmine,
personally i feel silhouette's otr gowns r of quite high standards in terms of deisgn..so should be able to find one that suits you..good luck!

for me, i'm just worried i cannot make up my mind...too many cuttings necklines etc to choose from!

juztea

lala, you can alter the shape of the necklines from th existing, which is what I'm doing actually.

jac, 13th will be the first official appt, to talk about design of my MTM EG. So exciting... Hope you've decided on your hairstyle, its such a tough decision, but i'm keeping my hair really long just in case i might want to go for the really long hair look.

thanks lala and jac, I have not signed on yet. Still want to see 1 or 2 more options before deciding. Asking that question cos my friend signed up with another bridal shop on OTR package and she has difficulty finding a dress that truly wow her. She signed on with that bridal shop mainly cos she love their photography.

hi jasmine,
have you been to Silh yet?
The OTR options for Silh is limited but it seems like most of us who took off the rack managed to find what we love (yes, love!) from what they have to offer....i agree with lala - silh's gowns are of the high quality type
do go to your shortlisted shops to see which one is likely to have your dream gown
happy.gif

lala,
looking forward to your pics!
happy.gif

juztea,
have u decided on what type of EG you want? and the colour?
I haven't decided on my hairstyle...but i did cut out some pics of the hairstyle that i like and prefer and will discuss with my MUA...most likey will ask my MUA to do the kind of hairstyle she did for the models for the recent wedding show...my fiance and I love their hairstyle!
what do you mean by the long hair look?? like just leaving the hair au naturale?

hi laa laa,
i'll recommend Caroline!
happy.gif
She's fabulous to work with!
i think there's a new designer there...think her name is Mel?
actually if you ask me what's caroline style, i have no idea cos during designing sessions, she'll just listen to my ideas and then discuss until we finalise on something i like
happy.gif

mei,
i'm slowly looking at pics online...don't have time to go to shops to see...think to save the hassle, i will most prob do the dress at Silh?
your hair still short? i thought since your MUA did a good job for your PS, your hair length should be fine...did she say anything abt your hair length?
my hair is getting so thick!! so i always go to my hairstylist and each time i go there, seems like my hair length shortened quite a bit...

I made an appointment with Silhouette this Saturday. Kinda excited to view their collection!
May I know if their prices are inclusive of GST already? My AD is in Jun 09, may I know when does photoshoot usually takes place and how long does it takes to get the gowns ready for photoshoot if say I want to MTM my evening gown? My HTB is having his reservist in Mar 09 and will like to do the shoot before his reservist when he has to cut his hair shorter.

lala,
i went to the wedding show too! love their gowns!! i like their Cheongsam a lot even though i'm not a CS person
happy.gif

jasmine,
yes their prices are inclusive of GST. i think the MTM EG can be done in 3months? best to check with the designer as its dependent on the detailings required....i think the photoshoot can be done like 3-6 months before your actual day and finally, 50% of deposit is to be paid.

I went to Silhouette for an appointment with Caroline today. Quite like their OTR gowns tho I will want to make alterations like more lace, ribbons etc. Are their prices quite fixed? I'm only getting gown & suit, flowers etc. For OTR is $3800. MTM +$700. The gown I like is with big train.

I'm still planning to visit a few more BS before I fix on the BS. By the way, the pricing is for us to keep the gown? I'm not planning to keep the gown... will call Caroline to confirm this...

chewiegranolarbar,
i believe the prices of Silh are pretty standard
happy.gif

yep, the price is for rental....
I think MUAs that tie up with Silh are not bad...the models during the bridal show at Raffles Hotel look pretty good...i love their hairdo! Perhaps you can ask Caroline to recommend based on the type of makeup you are looking for....

so have you decided on Silh?

Hi Jac, yes, I went down with FH yesterday and more or less decided. Bringing girlfriends over on Tues to choose the dress and seal the deal. FH may make his suit elsewhere so Caroline will reduce the price accordingly.

Any Sil brides here who used their MUA? Pls suggest!
happy.gif

I forgot to ask to see their kwa yesterday. Must remember to ask on Tues..

Hi chewiegranolabar, I was at Sil yesterday too with my girlfriends to look at their gowns. You are quoted 3.8K for what kind of gown? I tried a tulle gowns with embroidery and Minda quoted me 4.9K for OTR WG and MTM EG, MTM Suit, flowers and makeup. Forgot to ask if veil is included.

Hi Jasmine, I'm not getting MTM EG. I'm getting OTR gown (from the recent bridal show, think maybe duchess satin with a huge huge train), MTM suit, flowers, make up for $3.8k. May be dropping the suit (less $480)

Includes kwa, vest, jewellery. I think veil is included too ba... Yours includes photography?

Sil brides who have Minda as their designer can share with me your experiences? I was served by Minda when I went to Sil, just wondering if I sign with Sil, will I continue to be served by Minda or I can choose the designer? I have two acquantaince who were with Caroline and they have good experiences with her.

HI Jasmine,
My designer is Minda.
she is great. very patient and advices are always very relevant and has good taste!!!

She is the boss of the shop, so i guess in terms of design ability, creativity, and service should not differ at all.

I have good experience with her so far! Again designers are very personal also, so u have to work with someone that u are comfortable with. for me Minda works out well. so If u prefer Caroline, i'm sure u can make ur next appt with her.
