my wedding date is on 16 Dec 06.. so left abt 7+mths to go... seems like these days very few pple take MTM coz they worry that it will turn up to be a disaster which can b quite worrying so i m also keeping my fingers, toes crossed & pray real hard... hehehee... :p
actually hawaii is a nice place.. i went there b4 & u can do more than suntan lah.. go for eco-tours like volcano in big island & maui for super nice waves surfing.. ;)
japan is nice but expensive wor... as for the hard liquor, i tot got free waiver on cockage for duty-paid liquor? check your contract or coordinator to see if it is included for u...
 


hello superbee! yea, you're right abt MTM turning out opposite from what u asked for..hehe... thats why i am checking the BTB here on their results.. hopefully sophia is able to do a good MTM job... i'm not expecting very high la.. i can always opt for OTR lor.. hehe, but or i already have my ideal WG in mind lor.. hehe..

i'm most probably likely going europe la cos I know FH really hope to go there... Hawaii is nice ya?? good good...maybe next time can go there..hehe..

regarding liqour, yes, there is no corkage charge for hard liquor but need to be duty paid lor... i have a few duty free ones and my coord dun allow me to bring in lei...not even fill into decanters arh..

yup Japan's very nice. tt's y for those who are considerig going japan for honeymoon it's great...but try to go during the cherry blossom season instead...it's still chilly even when i went this time in april, decemeber winter will be worse...too cold..

Hi everyone

I am very interested to hold my wedding at Rasa. I believe most of the younger ppl likes the place coz its special and romantic. However, my bf parents said its too far.....and at first, my parents are supportive, they basically leave it to us to decide.....my dad only asked "can car go in ??" gee.....

But now, my dad told me he find Rasa too far, and asked why do we hold a wedding so far away.....he felt it will be very inconvenient for those who dun drive ...even if there are buses, others might still get upset or grumble.

I was so sad.....but I had tot it might be a bit inconvenient too and there are much more coordination work to do.

Anyone experience the same dilemma as me ? In the end, is it really that inconvenient ? Or it is actually better as long as there are buses provided ?

Really need advise for those who had hold wedding at Rasa, esp on the transportation part, whether there had been any complains etc ?

i used to face the same problem as you do now!! i like a carefree resort style wedding instead of the formal hotel style thus from the start, i already knew i wanted to do it at Rasa...

I almost gave up the idea bcos my BF says most of his elder relatives will find it troublesome to travel into this "small island".

However, later when we found out Rasa provides free coaches at the doorstep(to and fro), my BF was more relieved and thus go along with my "dream".

I did ask myself whether i am being difficult to ask my guests to travel so far to attend my wedding.. The answers I have tell me that it is honestly not that troublesome afterall...

1) for those who dun drive, it is likely they will take cab there. nowadays who will still dress up nicely and take train or bus to wedding?

2) i will place coaches(3 or 4) at all the relatives houses to fetch them(east/west/central). each coach take up 45 paxs max, thus for we are talking abt 130pax.

3) those who drive, great. they can drive in free. there is a map on the invitation card to tell u how to go in. if they think it is troublesome to find the place.... think abt going to hotels like Shangrila or Regent or copthorne waterfront in town, isnt it jus as difficult to travel there as well? train dun stop at the door step(i'm sure they dun take buses). So, whats to difficult abt Rasa? hey, dun forget abt the weekend traffic jam in town!!

4) hello, it is MY WEDDING...and we'll talking abt once in a lifetime event... for those who really cares for us, I don't think they will mind taking a little more effort to travel to our wedding. For those who still find it troublesome, I am really ok if they choose not to come. hey, we're in singapore, how far and long can the travelling be?

5) think of this as a special venue for your guest to experience... i hope my guests will enjoy the scenic view and a carefree wedding.. it'll be different from those that they attended a hundred times.

important thing is when u tell your parents abt the place, you need to emphasize that there will be coaches to go and fetch them and bring them back to their doorstep or a train station nearby.

P/S: must put the coach at the doorstep of the more senior relatives, this will make them feel good. Those younger relatives and friends can go to the coach whichever is nearer to them lor..

if not, there are also coaches at the hotel that will bring the guests to harbourfront MRT station. Tell your dad and mum that Rasa is the only resort style wedding in singapore.. If they have not visited the place for a long time, let them know the transport system there is "very advanced" liao...hehe..

Tell your BF you'll do a good job in arranging transport... u can get your friends to help coordinating this on the AD...

old people think it is far cos they have never been there.....it is actually not very far right??? from Jurong to Orchard, not far meh???? so whats the difference now that it is Jurong to sentosa???

good luck to you gal........ it will sure take some time for the elders to accept our "crazy idea", be calm and steady abt it ya!!

erica> my experience was.. family & relatives r quite ok with the location but it is my frens who say 'uh-so far' & no parking etc... but after i told them that i will allocate buses at 'strategic' places, they dun make noise already... i think u can tell ur dad that u can allocate buses at ur prefered location, maybe ur house downstair or near mrt for the pickup points.. hope it helps...

thanks for sharing. tat's what i tot leh.....i think it could be their perception tat sentosa is very ulu and far.....but after i came back from the wedding show, i think its really ok....not that inconvenient esp since there are coaches.

I was thinking i will still go ahead lor....i really dun wan to regret for the rest of my life just to make my guests feel convenient for 1 day .....and somemore, its not that inconvenient anyway

and i really like rasa's service, feel very at hm with the ppl there....my coordinator is perry, he's really good....gotta write him a compliment letter liao kekee....

I and my hb missed the Rasa show back in march, may I know if the set up at the siloso ballroom is much nicer than the one shown in the webby, I tot its nt tat nice lei...

We love the resort syle of Rasa, but my date is a Friday and our date is after march 07, the package shown is till march 2007. Can anyone share expeience with me? Thanks!

I went to their wedding show. I kind of prefer their siloso more than the pavilion coz i think siloso more grand lor.....and it makes up for their decor which is not tat impressive.....

But pavilion has full length windows so the views are better ..... its up to individual preference gee

hi suelynn > i can only say that the deco setup at Rasa is really so-so only. if you wanna make it impressive you really gotta top up or find your own florist for deorations...

the siloso ballroom looks more grand from pavillion...but if u prefer a more causal mood then pavillion should be more ideal...

why dun u try to arrange to peep at one of the actual weddings!!!

they do take in weddings for 2007 liao...mine is may 2007...hehe...

However, I feel you should still try talking to your parents or your BF's parents to make them understand that place "has improved over the years and is no longer that ulu".. maybe someday u can bring them in to walk walk or take a look la... no point you happy and the rest not happy right..... good luck gal!!

The date i wanted so much is 07/07/07. Taken up liao.

deposit paid was $2K.as for the deals we got...some of us here sign up during their wedding show few months back so would be 1 to 2 more items other than those already listed in their package; eg. 1 extra room if paying using UOB credit card....hope it helps...

can check with you what kind of shoes are you wearing during yoru AD? i'll be having my solemniization on the beach, hence thinking of what kind of shoes are conducive for walking without getting caught in the sand...
 
For those having solemnization at Rasa prior to dinner, will you be wearing the same gown as your 1st march-in ? got time to change anot huh, if I want different gown for solemnization and 1st march-in....

Do we need to wear veil for the solemnization ? And the gown, are u all wearing shorter ones or the longer types, with trains for solemnization ?

i b wearing the same coz i only got 1 WG & i rather spend more time to interact with my guests than 'fashion show' meaning keep changing gowns & no time to go around & talk to my guests...
i will also wear a veil coz i like the part where the pastor say 'u may kiss the bride now'.. hehehe...
my gown has train but it can b hooked up for a shorter train if neccessary...

me also still thinking abt this.... the first designer boutique i went to suggest that i make a 2pc set WG so i can easily switch into different "looks".... so for those of u who want to change can consider this idea

for me, i am not sure yet cos i have yet to select my gown. If I have spare cash I might wanna MTM a simpler gown without train for my solemnisation, then change into my main WG(ballgown) with train... hehe I am very clummsy...i will sure make a fool of myself if i wear the long WG... most importantly, I like to have a different look for each session if i can... i like to fashion show lei...hehe!!

hey macadamia! shoe shoe... i'll probably wear those wedges/platform with ribbon tie or those heels that tie at around my ankle with abt 1-2" of heel only for solemnisation cos my ideal dress will probably end at the ankle... Not too high or it'll be difficult to walk...hehe..

i was thinking of a shorter gown for rom, and a long train one for 1st march-in...i oso scared i will fall haha...i have 3 gowns and 1 kua for my AD, so a lot of clothes for me to change into...gonna be very busy that day ekekeeke....

For shoes, I like those who satin ribbons to tie around the ankle, very nice for rom....then have another silver pair (open-toe) for the rest of the gowns including kua.
 
erica!! same ideas, good good!! it tells me that i am not exactly troublsome!! hehe... i did think that having 3 gowns and 1 kua is actually quite a lot lor!! but i really like to wear all these beautiful dresses lei... its like my own little fashion show like that...hehe..

But I do understand it will be wasting time that we need to take "2 breaks" to change from 1st gown to WG then to EG....so..... timing is very important!! anyway now no more go table to table for yumsay right..so should have time la hor.. hehe...

erica, which BS are you with?? yea, i like those that tie at the ankle...jus feel more "feminine" lei... shoe for my WG and EG will be cream or blush cos my EG will be peach/pink!!!

i might not be having table to table shooting, even if have, shd be only wif those close frens or relatives...so i can hve some time here.

for morning, i'll wear a simple WG , then change to kua at mother's hse. for night, i'll be wearing a short tulle gown for rom, then change to wedding gown for 1st march-in (change during cocktail, my bf still the same suit so he can mingle with the guests). Then change to EG for 2nd march-in, champagne pouring and speech. Then take some photos with certain tables here. if got time, then do with all tables. Then change back to kua for sending guests off.,... hee....that's my fashion iterinary for the day.

I'm with Mr and Ms Wedding Club. Wanted to take Sophia initially, but budget burst liao, so cannot hee. I tot of whitelink and french bridal, but was waylaid by M&M while on my way to french bridal.....and in the end, signed up with M&M lor....tat's fate maybe muahahah.

My bf always say I'm daydreaming of being a princess....so now u know why I choose Rasa gee.....its a place closer to my dream wedding hehehe....

for mingling with guests, ya....i think is important too....coz they are the ones sharing our joy tat day.....i will spend some time during cocktail to mingle with them, half an hour before dinner start, then change to another gown, shd have enough time ba.

Honeymoon wise, we might be going Aussieland and NZ. I luv NZ hot-air balloons and their greenery yipee!!!

wow trixter the heel's alrdy quite high for me! is ur solemnisation on the sand? coz i'm not sure if i'll be able to walk properly on the sand with the kind of heels in ur picture! *thinking of heel sinking into the sand in my mind now*

i also like those that have a ribbon going around the ankle or something. heard from my sis-in-law that internatinal plaza custom makes any type of shoes we want, with whatever material we choose, and price is affordable too.

i'll be wearing a short dress... like a pom pom tutu i think. designer just drew one out for me last fri.. i'll be having ROM on during the matrimony too, hence will need to go onto stage to sign that kind.. short one more convenient also.. think i will only wear that and then change into EG. if i wear a short one for matrimony, dun really know when's an appropriate time to wear another full length white wedding gown! seems weird.. like "married again"kind of feeling. ha but just some personal feelings lar.

thinking whether i shd even walk barefooted on the sand for matrimony!

The stage for the Siloso Ballroom is at center of the ballroom. So the march in is rather short. If you put the stage on one end, the other end may not see anything.....

my solminsation will probably be at the waterfront lawn...it is not exactly "sandy" jus that there are some dry sand portion where the grass cannot grow out anymore.. if u visit Rasa and see the lawn area u will know what i mean.. so it should still be ok to walk on..the other time when i visited i was wearing heels and it was ok... let me try to cat walk again next time to double confirm...hehe..

the shoe u mentioned at int'l plaza, i suppose u r referring to leaping lizard?? yea, they can custom make but the price is not that "affordable" after all...

talking about short tulle dresses, i am thinking twice abt it cos it will make me look "so young and innocent" and it will make my FH look too old for me liao..hehe... when people look at me they'll think i'm like in my early twenties but i am actually in my mid 20s!! Haha...so i need somthing more "demure" aka mature lor..

but i really think a short tulle is really cute! i think erica will like that cos she wants to be a princess!!

btw, the short tulle is ok for ROM la then later change to main WG...i think we should at least wear a proper WG with those long train la...next time no chance to wear liao u know!! if u dun wear u dun regret huh.................

Hi hui jing, I'll be taking Siloso and I am also thinking whether to choose the short or long march-in. Hmm.....i guess leh, maybe long march-in for me coz I wanna wear the long train and have a long march-in ..... i dun like short march, not exciting lah hehe.. but for long march-in, tables at the back may not see clearly whats happening on stage and may feel left out lor....
 
ya i was thinking of taking the long march in too. cos i like to have a long train too... i be meeting the wedding coordinator tomorrow. Most prob will book tmr lah ... =) keep u ppl posted tmr!
 
Anyone looking for AD videographer ? I am interested in Chris of Hilo Productions, heard his works are very gd and his rates very reasonable....

So if more people are interested in him, maybe we can book together to ask for more perks hee ?

yup i know what you're talking about. we were deciding whether to use the sand or lawn area too... actually i liked the lawn area more initially, coz greener look more posh and elegant.. just that since we're having our holy matrimony at sunset, it'll be about an hour, and at the place the sun will be quite glaring for a while.. so chose the sand instead.

me ok with the ballroom march-in "length"", coz on the sand area, it will be quite long already.. gonna have bout 15 rows of chairs i think.. so agar agar can know the distance..

oh ok! my fiance just about 8 cm taller than me.. i 1.67m already.. hence rarely like to wear heels.. but heels really do make a person look more stylo and elegant. usu when i go work if want to have the stylo office look i only wear those 1 inch thin heels! always get cut from wearing covered shoes.. sigh..

haha actually i thought about it for quite long when designing my gown. my designer was saying now not many ppl are wearing short dresses...so since mine is on a beach, if wear will be quite special. i'm thinking of having a "fun" theme for my AD too, hence if i wear short, bridesmaids wear sundresses or something, i think will be quite fun! i wun be having normal photo albums.. will have indiv pcs displayed instead, at the reception area. so for photoshoot will take a few in a really grand and long one! saw those pong ping gathered ones that i like at the bridal during one of the try-ons i had there.

i dunno the name of the shoe shop acutally.. will have to go check with my sis-in-law.. oh i see.. hmm maybe can start looking around.. tom going to bridal to try EG.. will ask my designer what kind of shoes suit me!

aiyo woke up earlier coz need to go polling... thank God it's just next block.. me stay in Hougang!

they have quite a few areas right? there's (1) the green patch right in front of the hotel, furthest from the sea, near the pool.. then there's (2) the lawn we're talking about... and there's (3) the sand area by the sea.. hmm... how to describe? only got one sand area by the beach... hmmm... let me go search through my emails see if i have any pictures.. (oh there are more other areas i tnk)

found it.. *imagine stage at the spot at the end and rows of chairs on either side..* see the weird big shell in the middle of the pic? after bout 15 rows of chairs think the last row will end there.. the area in front of the shell is quite big..

I sent u an email. Btw, when did you enquire with Chris on his package ? The package he gave you stated clearly is valid till end of this month, yet when I asked him, he insists he cannot give me that package. He is charging me a much higher price.

I am not very happy on this. The package stated clearly that the price is valid till 31 May 06, and yet he refuse to stick to the package price. I feel he is very dishonest.

It is unreasonable. His reason 'It is when you enquire and not when you book. The quote is applicable for her only.'

I dont understand. If he can extend the package price to you by end of this month, shouldnt him be doing the same to the rest ? How can he charge different couple different pricing. Imagine 2 couples booking on the same day, and 1 gets a cheaper price and the higher higher price.

Somemore, he himself state on the package that prices are valid till this month, when I question him, he insists even if a new couple want to book with him immediately for a wedding this year, he still give the higher price. He simply dun give apologetic on the whole issue.

And imagine I am recommending 2 frens to book with him.

Sorry, I am not being angry with you or against you. I am just so upset with the way he conduct his business and treat his clients.
