Realistically...I tink our flats will be ready ard 2010 Jan-Mar. What we see are oni the structure...wat abt the installations like utilities supplies? safety checks? testings? Not to forget the progress of the construction are not equal..i believe they will oni officially hand us the key when the 4 blks r rdy... So.. we shld look at the slowest building blk to be realistic..

haha, kwoni, in the construction industry, from piling, external structure building, internal wall structure building, electrical and plumbing installation are all done by different department. i.e to say, while you see the blk being built up, the electrical and plumbing engineers are there to oversee the electrical and pipe installation.

everyone are doing their own job and they will be doing all this concurrently. also, contractors will not wait till all 4 blk are ready then hand over the keys to u. once any of the blk is ready with all the installations and check done, they will release the keys to u. this is the usual practice hdb is doing all these years.

based on my experience, to be frank, i have confidence the blks can be ready in 2009. the first blk of keys could be released from june 2009 onwards. like wat i say earlier, unless due to unforseen circumstances...

safety checks will be very fast. if the contractors are efficient, in fact within a week they can finish all the checks.

yes, i agree with edwin, the tasks are usually carried concurrently..In resource planning and project management, they will be planning and taking in consideration the critical path and also float-time before another have to be carried to meet the deadline..

As edwin had mentioned, unless due to unforeseen circumstances, the project may be delayed..

In the meanwhile, let's look forward to 2009/2010 ya..cheers~

oh...my fiancee and i got no other choice, when we applied in April last year, tat was the highest unit left..hope i can get used to it as my current house is 3 times the height than my future.. ;p

yayap, you r right edwin..as we had tried in vain balloting for other areas, but to no avail and just nice there was a WIS for Sembawang and the area was quite good, thus we decided to give it a shot for this WIS..

I heard that HDB has removed WIS recently right?

ya raynard, WIS has been removed. infact, last feb is the last WIS held by HDB. I was there to queue for 3 days 2 nights. got a very front number yet cant get any unit i like. sad.

april was the first bi monthly ballot/WIS. they will release the area for pple to ballot, after which den follow by WIS for anybody if there is still flat available.

why do u think sembawang is gd? haha... i mean there are also other area like sengkang or pg

hi edwin, my bad..i remembered wrongly, i went down for the WIS on the 23rd July..hehe..

Sengkang and pg is no go for me, as my bro is staying there now and it's really very very far...Sembawang is still ok as it's near to yishun, woodlands and amk..moreover quite a lot of repuatable companies are at amk, so if i want a change of job, it is still quite accessible..and furthermore, it's so near my camp, jus a stone throw away..haha, so during reservist also quite good.. ;p

my priority was actually commonwealth,queenstown area, but tried balloting couple of times and failed, so since there was a WIS for sembawang at that time and my fiancee and i discussed abt it and felt it's rather a good buy, so we went for it..

What abt you?

actually sengkang and punggol i dun think its far, rather i should say more in accessible. amk-sengkang in fact is even nearer than from sembawang. but when u tot of the mrt... getting to sengkang would take really a longger time. thou our sem green is more further inside, but the accessibility to amk or even town area is better, tat is why prefer sembawang more than skgang/punggol.

i nearly got a unit in amk. very sad, cause i got a very front number for the last WIS for matured estate. It was like, a few minutes away from the last unit. when it was my turn to choose, it was already taken when it was near my turn. some uncivilised pple actually jump queue during some commotion tat night when pple start queuing outside hdb. very frustrated as the unit could have been mine. but nevertheless, it was history. just hope to look forwards to the sem green. anyway, the most consolating thing is that the unit is much more cheaper than in amk one. haha...

our blk is going up soon. the 3rd floor is on its way and i think in no time... probably by the end of this yr, it could have reached 15th-16th level. maybe some of u guys could be able to see ur own unit being built.haha...

You are so lucky to get 16th floor when you applied in last April... Me and bf applied during the BTO stage in last last Sep and we are not able to get anything higher then the 10th floor wor... thanks for all your updates on the flat's construction... will keep an eye on this forum for your update cos when its gg to build my level I hope to go and take a look... frankly, I only went to the site once before i submit my BTO application (when it was only a grass patch with a HDB signboard hahaha)...

hi xiaofeizhu, I think when u applied that time, you should have a number quite behind right? tat y u unable to choose a unit more higher than 10th storey. I think also you are getting the unit facing the park. that layout is more hot i suppose...cause got baywindow. haha..for me i didnt get the bay window one. when i bought it, only left with the unit on the opp side.

nevertheless... dun worry.. things should be progressing well..

Anyone have opinion on the much speculated "North shore MRT line"?

If really have, I think it will be an underground line. Any existing town in the north with emtpy plot of land beside the MRT stands a chance to be the North line interchange.

I really hope that line be at Sembawang so it can be link to the north-east line and east line. May it will link to the west line also.

Having this north shore line will help public to access remaining of the island faster and more working option.

Seems like there will be an interchange in SBW MRT linking to north east and east area.

But not sure is this the actual future new MRT line or map. looks congested but definitely very convenient..
