Hi Kris Tine,

Did you just sign the package or quite some time back? The package Sharon and Ignatius showed me are + 2% 1.

Hi Jennifer,

I was told if you have lesser tables, maybe around 20, then lesser tables will be placed at the sides of the stage and therefore the stage can be extended. Dunnoe whether will incur more cost or not. I think Anabelle's idea is good too.

Hi BanGa,

I signed up in Jan'07.. my package was 728nett for weekend..which was before the announcement of GST increase. Maybe this is why i am able to get 728nett + 1% instead...

Hi Celine08,

I think it is better to make 1 as someone from Rendezvous will show you around and tell you more about their packages and such if you do so.

Also, you wont know whether there would be a wedding banquet on the day that you'll be going down. This is to allow you to see the actual setup of the ballroom if there is a banquet going on.

I think those who have done food tasting or AD over can advise. Sorry not done mine yet. Can't advise anything on food.

Hi winniethepoohz,

For the 2007 package, there are 2 themes offered. Glittering and flower theme. You can refer to the previous posts for the pics taken for the actual setup.

Hi there, I've been to HR to view the ballroom.
Dont really like it as the layout of the floor plan is a "T" shaped. Meaning there will be 2-3 tables being blocked and guests have to get out of the seats in order to view the projector (near the entrance) Have took a few pics and would like to share with u all.

Hi Nana,

I agree with you that some of the guest view will be blocked. I've tried going to the inner most tables and look at the projector from there, not the whole table guests will be blocked.

Anyway, I think that ballroom is not that suitable for more than 22 tables setup as it seems quite cramp. 20 tables would be ideal.

Hi Annabelle,

I had my food tasting on Sun, overall the food was good, the portion is average, quite alright. i tasted Shanghai Ramen with Hot Sauce which was very good.. but i am considering to change to e-fu noodles as it is the 'norm'.. why we wanted to change is because the dish looks abit like "Zha Jiang Mian".. but the taste is good.. really good.. the same goes for "Sichuan Pancake with Vanilla Sauce".. it looks like a big pc of biscuit cut into 10 portions.. but once we tasted it.. the taste is superb!!!

So now we are in a fix to select btw "good food" vs "presentation of the food"

Anyone selected the above 2 dishes? Any comments?

I'll be going for my food tasting on 7 sept. I will keep all of you updated too. ( :

Kristine, my menu is different from yours...my dessert is yam paste with ginko nuts and my noodle is ee-hu noodle. so cant give you comments. but you describe till so yummy. heh.

Hi Kristine,

I thought of getting ee-fu noodles as I love them... but when u tell me that the ramen is nice... I thought of switching it back... As for the dessert... I wanted to get the Mango & Pomelo.. if I remember correctly.. and now thinking of the pancake as well... is the presentation really that bad for the ramen and pancake..

nono.. the presentation is ok.. just that shanghai ramen is something new for me..

We are so used to the normal menu, so with changes, we have many doubts.. like will pple think yr menu is cheaper.. will they like the taste of it.. will the actual day food taste as good and so on.. the pancake is just a big rectangular shaped biscuit with red bean stuffing and cut into 10 pcs.. same thing is that it is something new.. when it comes to dessert, most of us were full and wasnt really attracted to the pancake, but after trying it, we were grabbing for more =)

After checking with my friends, they recommend me to choose good food instead of following the normal menu.. what matters for the guest most is the food actually =) but i am still contemplating to change it to ee-fu noodles as i love them as well =)

dear all,

I went for my food tasting last sat. Food was good and our parents are happy with most of the dishes. We are only making changes to the chicken. Hopefully the standard of food will be the same on AD too. ( :

yea. My parents felt that the noodle is abit oily but yet it can't be too dry so we left it as it is.

The yam paste was great. We love it. ( :

My chicken dish was the peking chicken but we are changing it to the crispy chicken with thai chilli cos the peking chicken is wrapped with aluminium foil so can be quite "difficult" to eat for the guests.

Hi,

just to share with u people... I decided to book HR. At first, I was also deciding on NCQ or HR. These are my personal idea:

1).It depends on the number of guests u are inviting as HR can only hold up to 24 tables.

2) Location. I feel that HR is more accessible in terms of people staying in NEL etc. as it is near Dhoby Ghaut interchange.

3)HR has only 1 venue, so no other people will be holding dinner at the same time at the same hotel as sometimes some blurr people may go to the wrong place.

4)Personally i find the building of HR looks better but NCQ has a good view from their suite.
