What about ICI Wash & wear. Any comments? we are choosing that for most of our walls. Pentalite only if you like Matt look...may be harder to wash?? We used Jotun a long time ago when staying in University Hall of Residence. Quite good quality.

my contractor quoted me $1800 for painting a mansionette. He charges us extra for doing plastering for out 3 rooms upstairs(which i think is right) but the problem is that he charges us additional for painting the window grills, the 3 rooms, the doors, door frame. Is this the norm for all contractors to do so?

We're v pleased cos they actually came back again yesterday and did a great job touching up spots that our other contractors dirtied. He didn't charge us a cent extra and did all the extra work cheerfully. Really impressive workmanship too. Five stars for this painter from me!

Hi all, me and FH just got our house and prob starting reno works in couple of weeks. our ID is suppose to do our painting works for us and has quoted us 1300 for a 5 rm flat, ours is a brand new flat so just need to paint over as i tink HDB only paint like 1 coat for you and some of the plastering work can be seen against daylight.

seem to be a consensus that Jimmy from creation is really good ...does anyone else have other contacts to recommend?

Hi Gal,
$860 include max. 4 col. paint & services of the painting.

Hi Eong,
Thanks for yur compliment. we spend abt 28k for reno which include built in furniture. if u need to know more in detail, u can email me.

hi all,

just to warn everyone here, beware of Jimmy from Colour creation, their workmanship is suck BIG time, maybe its only happen to me or i am more particular about the finishing.

Don't let this Co paint your house, you'll be regret about it(very soon).

For painting and plastering the air-con piping and wiring which he promised guarantee workmanship (somemore he said if no good, don't pay) for >$1K, the works turn out to be sub $700 paint works which one of my fren house engage.
Everything you ask, they said ok and steady one before the deal, but after evrything will be "It's like that one" and tonnes of reasons.

The new color does not really cover over the wall, the ceiling not fully paint with lots of area that will shine on you at different angle and the plastering work just suck, I may doing better than that, too bad i do not have time.

so please don't call this Joker if you want to save your trouble and have a happy reno process, trust me he will ruin your happy moods of your new house.

Gan, no offend here.
I like your house renovation very much, but my piant just turn out to be suck.

yep, initialy i thought of calling him asking some Q, but he is aggresive want to see my place and give quotation.

and he gave lots of sweet promises and seem like very steady, but its turns out suck BIG time.

Jimmy from Colour Creation and Colour xxxx (not sure the name)from Clementi but you can see it from Straits Times Classified section.

i would be more careful in choosing the services in future, and hope all will not get involve in this situation.

hi you can call anyone but not jimmy from colour creation.
their workmanship really suck BIG time, i kanna one time and will remember forever.

they can promise anything you ask when they here for the deal, but after the lousy paint, they will give you tonne of reason why it turn out that way.
just beware of the recommendation you get from forum...

not a problem as long as not exposed to wheather and high humidity environment...

it is advisable to apply base/sealer coat before the paint coat

Hi stonesix, so sorry to hear your story too. We are considering to engage his service initially too. Is it possible to share with us some pics on the not-so-good outcome?

you cant tell from the picture...but you can easily by your naked eyes.

anyway, its consider bad to my expectation and for the $$ they charge.

the wiring pipe that he charge for plastering works, not done.
paint the color before the base fully dry, or maybe the speed to fast, the paint not fully covered. so you can see the white spot here and there.

the residue of paint not being clean up, i my
self have to clean it up and its a lot >(. DAMN.
paid aso much in the end have to work myself.

just engage other if you have better recommendation.

ermz... no photo to show but your concept is very similar to mine.

we used light brown for 3 walls and apple white for the other wall. for the ceiling, to differentiate between the dining and living room, we used white for the living room giving it a brighter look while sticking to apple white for the ceiling of the dining room giving it a darker look.

came out fabulous. very happy with the result. :D

dat's very interesting... i nvr thot of using colors to differentiate the ceilings... how i differentiate my dining and living rooms is the difference in my false ceilings... one side is L-Box, the other side is a dropped down false ceiling.

hmm... i find dat it's more or less the same. the only thing is for lavender mist from delux all series... it seems abit lighter than from the catalog.
