Japelo, i'm going with tour.. cuz we would not wan to do so much research and see map to wlk like waste time thou might be fun and cheaper for F&E.

I'm going on the Oct. waiting for travel fair leh.. My aunt always book during fair, den she mentioned got those "first 10 or 100 pax" to book, will have disc or dono wad one...
 
those 1st 10 or 100 one, you got to go early to queue lei..

I should be booking mine at NATAS also.. Will be gng in Dec. I also think group tour easier. No need to worry about how to get from point A to B. But bad thing is less time to spend at each stop coz group tour always need to cover many places. most of the time is spent on the coach. Haa..
 
Japelo, ya bad is got to hurry.. but i'm ok with that... Dono how the weather will be like on Oct. I've checked the website it's like min 10 degree +/- now at most area.
 
oh.. i heard coldest is always Jan- Feb period.. haha.. Oct only like aircon? cuz now already 10 +/- wor.. Lols... i wanna visit those warehouse sales on winter clothings... =x
 
ended my wedding on the 5th june. used ballroom 1&2. angie was my coordinator. took my package from haze, changed to lindsay and then to angie and i requested angie to be my coordinator from then on cos i dont wanna keep changing.

she was good, in fact whatever she could help, she helped
i believed cos she had some of her difficulties as well with some of my requests lol.

was really nervous on that day and she kept me calm, the food was not too bad i heard, i had free flow beer and free flow red wine for my package :p and brought along 3 boxes of martell lol for those hardcore drinkers.

oh yah had my ROM in the function room as well but mine was 7pm so the solemnizer dint really have much time communicating as some of my guests already was waiting outside hehe so was abit rushing.

overall i had a gd experience with orchard hotel and really have to thanks angie cos she only took over halfway nearing to my wedding and we managed to work things out quite smoothly. though i would have preferred haze cos i took the package from her but i would like to wish her all the best in her career advancements.
 
oh yah i think i saw some coordinator bringing someone to view the ballroom on that day itself..

i had a instant print booth outside the ballroom and OH accomodated that and helped set up the booth.
 
was offered the day room as well till 8pm and extended till 10pm cos was really busy on that day.

and angie took the connecting room for us as well for overnight stay, she tried to get the late checkout but dint managed to do it..

for the av jus need to get a person to help, they have their staff there to play the stuffs..

so gd to have a day room, i try requesting for it but was turn down sighz...
 
yups i have a day room as well as a connecting room thats connected to my bridal suite. the bridal suite will be quite crowded on that day so actually some of the bros or sis can use the day rm to make up, bathe and rest etc.

u can try requesting again for a day rm i think shld be no problem one, its only the connecting room that angie has to confirm the availablity on the actual day itself..

my lucky dip only got the free wedding cards mah so i abit like not shiok so i requested the day room on the day i took my package itself..

My co-ordinator is Angie too, spoke to her a few times on the phone to arrange for foodtasting.. quite helpful and nice .. hahha will see her in person in July
 
they gave me connecting rm I didnt request. But i guess if u got that rm it must have connecting rm, else it is very small.. =)

I gave that rm to my sisters and one helpers day use rm downstairs to the brothers..
 
Michelle: you mean OH gave you an extra room connecting to bridal rm huh. Thats good. Dunno whether is that the standard case for each couple or not. If yes, that room my in-laws can stay for the night.
 
May I ask, usually when do we meet up with the hotel coordinator to discuss any details about our upcoming wedding? like 1 month or 3 months before actual day?
 
j3nnyzz: 2 to 3 months before, hotel coordinator will contact u about printing of wedding cards.

2 to 1 months before, will be food tasting, confirmation of tables and themes, etc..
 
i have checked their package online and realise their free flow beer is 3hrs.How come their beer not throughout the banquet? Is it enff from the experience of ex-OH bride?
 
Just wanna share my extremely unhappy experience with orchard hotel on my wedding night about 1 and half years ago. I held my wedding there cose the food and ambience was goood. But on the night of my wedding, I was not told that there would be maintainence and the water supply would be cut off at 1am. By the time I was done with the dinner and seeing off my guests and not to mention they require us to settle the bill on the night itself, it was already past midnight.
To my horror, there was no water for us to bath by the time we were ready for bed. We went to the reception and guess wat the filipino lady at the desk said. " We already left the letter on the bed informing that there will be no water." She was really rude and gave me a disgruntled face. Who will notice what is on the bed on your wedding night? My coordinator didn't even mentioned to us about this. They didn't have any contingency plan and told us to wait till 6am to bath. We were fuming mad and there was no apologies, follow up, rebate whatsoever. What a way to spoil the wedding night. Till this day, my husband and I are extremely disappointed with Orchard hotel as it was the most unromantic day of our lives. We wanted to check in to another hotel but decided against it we had too many barang barang. Good luck to those who booked OH and look out for any letter on the bed.
 
That's very irresposible of your coordinator.She should tell you beforehand of such matter. Especially you need to wash up before slp. Have you tried confronting her?

How about the dinner banquet itself? Was it smooth and did your guests felt it was good despite the water incident ?
 
My hubby and I were basically very disappointed and didn't feel like talking about it so we just left early in the morning at around 9am. The banquet was good i must agree. Guess we were the only ones affected by this water incident. Just don't assume a letter on your bed means something like well wishing from the hotel.

I guess if you only serve the free flow after the guest start to be sitted, say maybe 7.30, then the free flow ends maybe around 10.30 in which the dinner should be ending... Should be enuff?

Anyway anyone ever change the dessert to "orr ni" (Yam Paste and Ginkgo Nuts) for OH banquet? Is it nice?

anyone know when how long before our wedding should we go down to Tdragon to choose our wedding invites? will orchard hotel inform us to go down or we need to check with our coordinator ourself?

Dear All

I am OH btb 2012. My boyfriend attended his company function in OH recently and he received a really bad service from them. Now we are really worried that it will happen in our wedding and screw everything. How bad is the service?

- Two waiters were fighting in front of my boyfriend and his colleagues. Yes, literally fight. Pull shirt and punches.

- When asked to refill the drink on the cup, they simply ignore and forever never come back with the drink.

- They shows a super black face when asked to change a plate after dishes.

Although the manager is really friendly, according to my boyfriend. But the manager is alone. How is her good service possible to serve 25 tables in banquet?

So, Orchard Hotel Management, if you happen to read this, I hope that you will do something to improve your ground staff's customer service skills.

bingqiling: oh dear. sounds bad. My wedding is next month, I hope that won't happen. Any chance your bf manage to catch the manager's name?

Yes, I really hope that it won't happen. I asked him, he said he didn't manage to catch the manager name. And if your coordinator is Angie, she wasn't there. As ours is Angie.

Amy, I agree with you. That's why I hope that by this post here. Someone from OH will be able to take any necessary action to improve the customer service quality.

And when is yr big day?
 
bingqiling, mine is end october. guests' name not included so you have to write it yourself. What is printed on the card is both parents' name and your husband and your name plus your wedding date, venue, etc.

My coordinator is Xuan Ling. Anybody's wedding just over, care to share the service your guests are receiving?
 
Hihi, initially my coordinator was Lindsay but she resigned and Angie took over. We met her when we signed up at the roadshow and felt that she was kinda inexperienced and inflexible. Anyone's wedding over or coming soon and coordinator is Angie care to share your experience?
 

japelo, our AD is next year. So we have time to prepare and guest lists not yet out. Hopefully they will update their theme for next year.

And please comments on their service and everything after your big day.
