bingqiling : My planner from OH told me they welcome progress payment , lol.
SCB xtrasaver ( current ) account's bank card double as debit and nets card. THis is the only NETS card at this moment that offers 0.5% cash rebate for all nets transcation. Thus, best action now is to pay off all other credit card bills using this net card, rather than cheque
Bingliqing & Tan Aimei,
from my understanding, most, is not all Credit cards exclude spending on Banquet for all their rewards program. Need to call up your CC to confirm. Citibank confirm banquet spending does not qualify for any rewards program. Except for this Manhantan Card, at least for now. CC promotions change every now and then.
Most credit card points rewards program is about 0.3% of the spending amount. Most cash rebates of the various CC of 3 or 5% , have to spend at selected merchants only. Only this Manhanttan card gives 5% rebate ( on spending above 3K in a mth's bill ) on ANYTHING.
So for the maximum cash rebate for wedding couples:
Get 2 Manhanttan cards, plan your Banquet Deposit , progress payments and balance payments ( of at least 3K to qualify for the 5%, over the different billing cycle. Bearing in mind that max cash rebate is $200 per billing quarter. And use the xtrasaver account nets card to pay off the bills for the 0.5% cash rebate.
And for other wedding expenses like furniture, buying of fittings for renovations like kitchen sink, lights, etc , payment for bridal package, etc, use the xtrasaver Debit card for 2% cash rebate ( capped at $300 cash rebate per mth ) . Do take note of the rebate percentage structure , eg 2% rebate , if there is a daily minimum balance of at least $6k.
I'm not working for any banks or credit card companies. Google for the details for the Manhanttan Card and xtrasaver account.
