I took my local PS in Mar and just recently went for photo selection.. my PG is jackson (think this is how u spell his name) and although he is quite new to MDW i think his skills are good!!! heard he is now leading the whole photography team at MDW. i had a really hard time choosing my photos haha. hope this helps... havent been to the forum for some time and realise that it's pretty active! have fun for your PS!

Hi All, i'm contemplating whether to take from MDW. Love the style they take the photo. But they seems quite pushy to close the sales. Not sure if they are reliable. Any comments?

1stly juz some info to share:
if anyone looking for suit - be it extra for groom or for the fathers, can go take a look at G2000. noticed currently there seem to be some suit set on sales ($199 a set). furthermore, if u r safra member, there will be additional 15% discount.
2nd-ly, wann ask if any1 knows wat's MDW MUA rates for AD mums/jiemeis make-up + hairdos ?

inamess - thanks for your reply! I actually requested for David based on recommendation given earlier but they told me it depends on the photographer's availability.. special request need to pay $300.. so see how and if it's jackson then also ok..

HX - my AD is in Oct and i did my shoot 6 mths before wedding as per my coord's advice =) yup definitely not to worry if it's jackson. in fact MDW is quite consistent in terms of shooting style. While i was choosing my photos i glanced at the couples next to me who were also choosing their photos and it was taken by David. pretty similar shoots / angle. must say i wasn't disappointed by my photos and jackson is very willing to try new places and styles too! i chose a more lifestyle place which I think no one in MDW has been to before and jackson did a very good job at capturing the shots there.. so 安心å§! =)

Hi, i had recently sign up a package with MDW during at W&T fair at a price of $3288 (local shoot). Not sure if its worth the price?? Any feedback?

i went to W&T there, too, and the sales lady told me the price is 3xxx and was offered 28xx but I didn't take it finally coz I haven't decide for photoshot yet.

the package offered was $3688 initially, after bargaining they finally offered us with $3288.
Package consist of 1 big album with crystal cover of 35pcs, 1 mini small album with 30pcs, 2 table top, 1 big one or 3 in 1 frame up, 100 thank you cards, 3 outdoor location, 3gowns for outdoor shoot + 1 casual. my HTB got 2 tuxedo suit, 2 father's coat, car deco,... thats mainly photoshoot. AD got 1 wedding gown, 1 evening gown, 1 ROM, 1 kwa... ummm what ya think?!
some told me its quite ok, some said i can demand for more... im quite uncertain thou!

hi anglicious, ur deal is so much better than mine. i signed in Feb'11 roadshow at Vivo. $3888 , similar to yours. But i only have 30pcs. I do not have 2 father coats.

to be frank they are quite hard sell..i rather i told them initially i just want to see and check prices den when want to leave, say can pay $360 deposit and consider take the package (after go down shop to view or swop for AD gown rental) if dun wan pay $1k deposit to book package.
when i went Satinne, they told me my price can be used to include car as well..sigh...

godbird, im kind of regret when loveforever mentioned she could get the offer at $2.8K++.. awww.. yeah agreed to the hardselling part. I was there at the W&T fair hoping to look around but when i sat at their counter and intend to leave, they told me i wont be able to get the same offer if i go back to them later on thus it left me with hesitation.
the mini album is really those 4R kind. yesh, same pose.

godbird - the pose in the small album will be the same as big album. Just that it will be one photo per page, no fanciful layout. You can try request for father coat since they provide it for others. I recall your package also includes the $300 voucher and extra EG?
Regardless of whether your package is cheaper or more expensive, somehow they will "earn back" while you choose the photos...unless you totally dun do any top up....

Ee, totally agreed with you. Owell, there's nothing we can do since we alredi sign up. I doubt we can still bargain for anymore stuff.

ya, i think angelicious really got herself a good deal...
i signed up for the HK package and halfway through i wanted to change to local photoshoot due to work commitments n my coordinator actually offered me $4,088!!
all along i thought she is quite nice but think after all, they r jus v commercialised n wadz more i have lesser bargainning power since i have signed with them already... haiz..

the one i said i think not more than 3.5k, i forgot already and i think only PS in Sg, but i didn't ask them anymore becoz I'm looking for ROM package only.

when they quoted me $4,088 for SG PS, i got a shock too.. was quite sianz, cos i know she is trying to earn her commission..
think d main diff now is i m their existing customer le n like wad EE said, they r trying to gain mkt share...
btw, i understand they dont provide necklace for AD.... where do u gals intend to source from?

i chose and paid deposit under pressure from her during bridal show as i rem they said a nice way of wasting their time although i specific clearly i want to check the price and package but they have a style of immediately taking and writing the invoice, siilar to Romantic life.
what is left is hope to get gd quality.

Wintumnsky, I think you can borrow from the make up artist (at a price) or if your parents/in-laws are giving jewelry, you can wear that on the day instead. More meaningful

Wintumnsky, i was also thinking where to source for AD necklace as i do not have my own jewellery to wear. Understand that can rent from MDW but didn't feel like spending anymore. Thought of leaving it just bare....and just wear the earrings that i borrow will do....

noir...thats terrible..i really love their photos thats why i signed up with them..so sorry to hear that your photos didnt turn out good..

i paid $20 for entrance into sentosa..not sure it's charge by no. of person or by vehicle...there were 6 of us in the car...
i think if you plan to take PS in Jan 2012, you can inform them 3 mths in advance...just call their direct line and ask for your coordinator will do.

b rose: Rachel's ok. just bear in mind that it's her 'character' that sometime she'll display a black face when too busy/stress.
eg. I kept asking to try more AD gown be deciding so she haf to go up & dwn to search for new gown. half way I notice her face as if turn black.
impt thing is, as long as can understand that's her 'pattern' then dun b over bother by it; it's ok being under her care.

godbird: i suppose ur's local shoot? I suppose min 3mth b4 PS should be quite ok cos they dun need to book e la mer yatch like for HK shoot(only need book MUA & PG).
i done my HK shoot in Nov10, & only informed them in Jun10.
Basically, time line is:
1-2 mth b4 PS an interview/sharing session would be arranged so as for them to understand what u like/dislike.
cos is HK PS, gowns are selected in HK outlet 1or2 day b4 PS day. overall took abt 3hr for selection of 3 diff gowns. btw do note that e groom suit are choosen/measure in sg.
for sg local PS, might haf to ask other how diff e timeline's like.

b rose> yup, AD's in June so have done PS in Nov10 at HK, selected pic 2 wk after (in Dec10) & after rounds of reviewing, finally gotten ablums/stuff recently.
btw do note I think Rachel's off day is usually Wed.

haf to agree their co so call policies all r super rigid. till now i'm still finding it hard to accept tat we have to pay up way b4 our AD ends. well, guess this fact can't be amended regardless of e 'generations' of couples complaining to them... juz to share, wat I did was to use e certain bank CC 0% IPP to clear the payment n 'spread' out e cost.
