Hi Danrene/Meiling,

Good Idea!
so when the MUA meet u, can tell her its already applied ourselves so can do without it.
happy.gif

guess i will do it at home before going.

anw my package is abt the same as most of you've said.
for btbs who are considering MDW, i would say try and bargain as much as u can.
before i signed, i still wanted to visit one more BS so i wasn't persuaded to sign at MDW until after 3hours when they really start to make the package much more attractive to me.
they increased my photos by over 10 pieces of the initial 20 odd pieces.
and gave me a voucher to offset photos or package price.
after netting with the voucher my package cost ard 3788(w/o gst).
and for small items if u need jus get them to throw in, tink they will so that u will sign with them. so these are easy to get.
its the price and photos u gotta work on.

yup. it is much cheaper to get the ampoules ourselves... during AD also need at least 2 vitals...

true, bargain is the key. That time we also sat down for nearly 3hrs plus... i'm interested but hubby feels too ex. I more into quality, he more into perks. haha~

going for the PS fitting in early March. anything to look out for?

was wondering if we can delay paying 100% of the package just before the photoshoot? don't really feel comfortable to pay off all during the fitting.

advise please!

Hello Cherry and Serene!

I did asked before, and thought of delay but was rejected. Have to make full payment before PS.
But you can try asking again...

Cherry, ur march ps fitting is also your first interview right?
Take note of the locations that you wish to go, what type of gowns are you looking for, what type of photography style you want, any props that you wish to have... u can prepare your own props too...

Hi Cherry, they once mentioned, on the day of interview we must pay the rest. Well, we can try that again, I probably will. haha. I'm pretty sure I will tarnish their reputation if they dont do a good job.

oops.

actually is it a must to use ampoule? i bought tonnes in the end its kept in the drawer. :s

Hi Meiling and Danrene!

Haha, then probably I will try to ask. We are just worried they won't do a good job after collecting the payment. Hehe.

@DanreNe For ampoule, mdw told us during PS don't need cos MUA will be following us throughout... oh ya, my MUA stayed till the last makeup and she went back mdw, so my night shoot she wasn't around.
However, mua asked us to apply on that day cos it makes our makeup last longer and indeed it is true... under the hot sun, the most my face is very shiny and all she needs to do is just to blot away the oil and the makeup is still very good.

@Cherry don't worry. my coordinator told me they wont tarnish their own reputation as words spread very fast. I wanted to make the last payment after the photos are out but she reassure me that everything will be fine and indeed it is. haha.

oh ya, if you gals wanna view my ps pics, can add me at fb. [email protected]
*i'm not a pretty bride but at least the photos turns out good lah. lol*

hihi Meiling.. I added you..wanted to see the photos from MDW as like their photos online.
can anyone let me know their pre-wedding package?
[email protected]

something to share: i already saw MDW photos on website, so wanted to check them out at suntec last week.. Jackson was the one who served us and we are very comfy with him, then later Carol (sales) came and served us together.. in my opinion, Carol's concern is really on sales.. when I told her that this is my first BS only and my concern is bridal gowns, she tried to show me some photos of gowns, and i told none of it interests me at that point, and I prefer to go to their shop to see, and immediately, she showed a disinterested face...

I personally like their photos, but upset by the service at that point of moment. So trying to see more photos; and see if it is worth for me to continue to use them.

Christine, i gave u the access to the pre wedding album.

Jackson is really a very nice chap... he is one of the photographer...

So you still deciding to sign with them?

Yup yup! Jackson is a very nice chap! I had my photoshoot with him. He's really good and you'll feel very comfortable when out taking photos with him! =D

Just went to view photos .. Super satisfied with his photography skill! Now just have to look forward to the end products of album and frames. =)

So far I think MDW's service is quite good! There are horror stories that people mentioned here, but I also read about horror stories about other Bridal studio in other forum pages when i was doing my research while deciding on Bridal Studio.. Me and HTB decided on MDW because we both felt comfortable. So my opinion is both of you must feel comfortable with the studio then you choose it.

Oh yeah .. one thing I forgot to mention is about their gowns and tux. For tux wise the choice is quite limited (But they always say how fanciful can a groom's outfit be compared to the bride's =p). My HTB is quite vain .. haha .. so he complained a bit but its not that bad.

Initially I wasn't very satisfied with the gown fitting process. Though I manage to choose something I like in the end, but the starting part was a bit too rush. Feel that they just want to get it over and done while for me as a bride, I would want to slowly see and decide which makes me more comfortable and I really like it before choosing.

So after that we made a feedback about the uncomfortable part and they took note of it and promise my AD fitting will be of what I requested. And they did apologize sincerely for making us feeling uncomfortable.

I havent go for my AD fitting yet, its going to be in June. So I hope they keep their promise.

Beside this small hiccup, everything else in terms of service is really good so far.

I guess every bridal shops sure will bound to have some horror stories... it also depends of individuals standards and expectations.

I just love going down to their flag shop... so homely. haha~

Agreed, their tux selection are quite limited.
My hubby is a bigger size person and he tried quite a few during his PS selection, so when we went down during our AD selection, they told him that actually he had tried all during PS. hahaha~~

But he is ok with it cos he still able to find something that he like...

Hi All,

I'm having my wedding March 2013!
happy.gif
However, after reading through all the forums, i realise everyone goes for Photoshoots, videography and bridal gowns in a package. I would like to do something slightly different. Non of the games, powerpoint presentations etc...

Would anyone be kind enough to recommend a bridal shop/seamstress that can do a simple wedding gown? Something like this: http://pinterest.com/pin/84231455500624213/

As it is going to be a lunch wedding, i thought it would be practical to just have:
- One MTM white wedding gown (as the above link)
- One suit for the Groom
- Bouquet for Bride
- Car decorations
- Free lance photographer for AD (what is the standard $$ nowadays? I don't need them to print. Just need the raw CD)
- Free lance videographer for AD (what is the standard $$? Same, no need to make into a video. Just the raw footage professionally shot)
-MUA and hair stylist once in the morning (any to recommend?)

Hope to get some ideas! Thanks!

Hi Thanks for the info! Will keep.

@MeGal, Budget for gown can be up to SGD 1000+? Really not sure how much it would cost for an elegant, unique, yet minimalist look. No train, no poofy can can look. I'm already saving much on no prewedding photoshoots so i'd prefer to put more effort into this.

Hi everyone,
is anyone here interested in overseas wedding shoot? Am doing some research and was wondering if MDW would be a good choice as the package to Japan/Newzealand cost about 6K after adding everything up and a package to paris adds up to about 8K.... I've scanned through the archives and seems like there's not a lot of take ups on overseas shoots.. if there are, they're mostly taiwan or hk.. anyone else interested in overseas shoot? mind sharing your views/package?

Hi everyone,

i am new to here. I have found out a lot negative feedback from you guys.

I have experienced through my friend they had 120% satisfied with the service. What they agree, they can deliver more than they expected.

@Rainie, you mentioned your coordinator was M....
I am not sure how many coordinator name M.... but i everytime acc my friend the whole process. Her Coordinator is M..... but we found is very promising. Quite energetic what she was doing. May be depend on ppl point of view.

My friend have satisfied the package and services. I felt the same because i acc her every visits.

I have visited more than 6 BS with my friend before she signed the package. Their gown are the best suit for my friend. Other BS only offer old gown for outdoor shooting. Totally no choice at all.

For AMK BS only have 3-4 type of groom Jackets from my another friend experience. I may be too afraid of get the wrong package so i survey through my friends and visited with them.

Actually i have signed last month with them and i also look for M..... same as my friend. She is willing to share & advice. She got share with us, every customer have different taste on their gown. Some want very grand, some want simple and nice, some want mermaid type. ..... Also shared their knowledge, PS gown need to match the location we choose. So they have prepare some gown which can match best from their experience. This is their advice she said, if i don't like them i can anytime say it out what type i like.

One more thing i understand prices are different and packages varies, if i am not wrong, it depends on when we sign. Sometimes roadshow normally they offer more thing and more discount bcos lots of competitor out there.

@DanreNe, i agree with you because we need to do some research and homework to get better offer and discount for pose, and free gift. That's why i most of the time acc my friend.

Me & my hubby really satisfied same as my friend so far.

i will further update you guys.
hope they won't disappoint me

Everywhere bound to have negative reviews. It's up to individual to believes or not...

Since day 1 when we signed the package till now, it have been 1 yr plus and it is really a very wonderful experience. My AD is just in 2 weeks time and after AD, i still want to continue the bonding with the staffs there. It is just so joyful to pop down to their shop during all our interviews, fittings, collection etc... and mostly will ended up chatting over there...

Will definitely intro more friends over there... Price might be steep but the amount is worth cos it is a lifetime event.

Too bad they don't have family shoot but i still hope i can go back yearly for a photoshoot! =D

Actually i don't feel like commenting anymore.. Jus want to get it over.. whether like it or not.

Jus to clarify, there is no right or wrong comments here.. Is all base on individual experience n feel. Total I hv signed up 3 PS packages with 3 different BS, 1 overseas PS, 1 local indoor PS n 1 outdoor PS MDW. So base on my 3 experiences, I giv my comments.

I don't think I will recommend MDW to my friends. But if u don't mind spending $, no budget n not much expectation go ahead.

Negatives always spread faster than the positives ones. Normally we tend to vent our frustration over the forum.

Probably there are some lucky few who really got better services. BUT you never know.. probably some MDW staff are lingering here.. lol

godbirdie

well, For mine, it is not a pleasant experience from the moment i was being "hardsell" to sign the package and disappointed when we can't get something we like when choosing the gowns/suits for PS, esp at at steep price.Had to request for change of coordinator. Can only hope that the follow up can be better from MDW..is water under bridge..cos even my current colleague who signed up have negative experiences..

As for 'spies", there is no doubts in almost every forum for bridal boutiques, not to forget hotels as well..

danrene

New Member
haa godbird, but dont forget there might be wreckers from other BS also...

All our experiences differs. if it happens that both the coordinator and the BTB happened to be foul mood that day, there goes.. tho all of us have the mindset that they suppose to serve us customers, whether they are happy or not.

Update you gals again after my interview, mid April. Seeya ard~

Hi all BTB out there,

Did any of you rent the kwa w phoenix n dragon design ($680)at MDW or look for other source?

ice03

Hi Meiling,

they only give me a day & evening gown, n a selection btwn tea-dress or rom gown. If i like the kwa i have to rent it from them. Which design did they let u choose for the kwa?

meilingg

Oh... My ROM was on a different day thus i managed to get them to throw in a ROM gown too.

For Kua, i wasn't given any design to choose, i only try for sizes.
