My Dream Wedding

babytulip: if i'm not wrong, it's correct that u only have PS fitting at HK side. & i believe there should not be any prob in finding ur fav gown over at HK.
see wat the others (who went already) said bah...

btw m curious who's ur coordinator?

hi Babytulip: I guess trying the gowns where they'll take photos to show you how each gown you will look in photos referring to when u r trying for your actual day gown?

For photoshoot in HK, we dont try the gown in SG as the gowns in SG and HK are diff. There will be a interview session in SG with your coordinator before you go off to HK, to better understand what you want, the style of photo, hairstyle, makeup and other needs, the coordinator will also let you know what you need to prepare and bring along for the shoot.

Gowns in HK shouldnt be a great pro as they have a large range for you to choose from, alot more than SG, infact most of us have trouble choosing from the large range of gowns. The coordinators in HK are very professional and very sharp, they will know what kind of gowns suit you better and not to worry about cant find the gown that you like in the 3 hrs as they will still attend to you after the 3 hrs

As for altering the gown to your size, they will straight away get the tailor to alter for u and let you try on after u have chosen your gowns. It takes about 15 mins or so for them to alter.

Most MDW staffs in SG are pretty good too, very attentive and will try to help whenever possible... maybe there's some miscommunication?

Oh... yah.. maybe it really is a miscomm. I was so worried when she sounded so reluctant to let me try the gowns.

To add on cos my HTB not in sg so i only have limited days to choose for interview when he flies in for the weekends but she keep saying that she's very busy with exhibition etc on the days i provided so i get the feeling like she's not very accomodating, and its more like i'm trying to please her more than she's trying to make things easy for me..

So Trina, how did you prepare for your PS before gg to HK? And anything to prepare before gg for interview? My coordinator didn't tell me to prepare anything for the interview... so dunno what to expect.

Hi babytulip: Not to worry, it shld be just miscomm, they are very helpful to every customer. As for trying for the gowns in SG, usually is be nearer to the AD then will be the gown trying session or unless u want to do a MTM gown like in my case it will be 6 to 8 mths before

For the interview, maybe u can try asking her to get other coordinator to do the interview instead if he/she is really not free?

For the interview, I didnt really prepare anythg, apart frm telling them what type of hairstyle/photo feel i want infact I didnt even do much research as I felt at that time, the professional would know better then me what is gd n looks great on me. if u want u can start to do research on hairstyle, makeup n even gowns so u can show it during the interview, u can also bring them over to HK if needed.

Then when u reach HK, on the day of the shoot, it would be gd if u can comm with the MUA, PG n VG again. For my case, my PG, VG and MUA did comm with me before they start the session. Tell them what u want, they will advise accordingly suit or not suit. They are very friendly ppl

Relax and enjoy yourself for the photoshoot

Dont worry too much ya n be a happy bride

My friend said her cousin who signed with MDW has very nice EG. Think their gowns are nice photoshoot seem very 'standard'.

Didnt appeal to me. Besides, they don't seem to have designer in the shop? Designer seems to be in HK and therefore not sure can MTM anot if cannot find any OTR that you like.

Hi BabyTulip,
u dun have to feel worried abt the process of selecting gowns in HK. In fact, I felt the gown fitting session in HK helped me select the styles that suited me. As most of the gowns in HK are different from Singapore, the coordinators in Singapore probably felt that it is not necessary to try them here as it might waste ur time.

Whaleywhale:

Actually on contrary, MDW's photoshoot was wat attracted me in the first place and ive no regrets.

At first i wanted to find a Taiwan photoshoot ie Julia Wedding News but luckily i didnt. Firstly, the scenery was so so on the albums i previewed. Secondly, if it rains, they will not bring u out to the scenic places and u have to take the photoshoot outside the studio. Thirdly, there were hidden costs such as paying more for change of gowns selected. Fourthly, u have to lug the gowns chosen in Singapore to Taiwan and lug them back. Wat a waste of luggage space!

Anyway, i was surprised that my actual day gowns look nicer than wat i chose for photoshoot in HK. Therefore, i'm really happy in choosing MDW.

pinkpt> How long do you roughly took to choose your gowns in HK? Do you think 3 hrs is ok? And, so they alter on the spot for you or do you see the finished product on your PS date?

Hi Jean,
i think 3 hrs should be sufficient. Wat time r u reaching there? For me, i reached the studio about 6-7pm in the evening and chose the gowns until 9 plus. I guess if u r earlier, u can choose until u r satisfied. As it was already late, i only saw the altered gown on the day of PS.

wow..dats fast! so its really like what my coordinator says? that the ple at HK are very experienced and usually spot-on on what suits u?

Anyway, how many gowns did your roughly tried on? My appt was pushed back to late afternoon sadly.

yup the HK staffs are very experience and usually take those that suits for u to try but of course u can ask them for those cut which u like too for u to try on
happy.gif

I tried almost 20 or so till too many choices so i stopped. My appt was at 5.30pm, tried till around 7plus then the gowns sent to alter then tried on again b4 ending the session.

Thanks Trina...I am not so worried now after hearing from you.

thanks Trina...
understand that there are certain places where they can stop by (on the way back to studio) for ps as well. do we get to choose the places? as i saw from some sample albums a few venues i like n don like. but MDW tell me that it depends on where they like stop.

for MDW brides who already had their actual day, did u engage MDW's photographer for your actual day? if yes, who is ur photographer?

Y didnt you take the AD package? you have a better lobang somewhere else?

Tentatively I may just have a very simple ROM ceremony, without wedding dinner and so on...but havent really decided yet ba, so I just sign up the photoshoot first?

Great to hear that you had fun! tt's the most impt thing about the photo shoot =)
no sweat, melting make up.. aircon everywhere...

have yet to set my AD. most prob will be end of 2011.

It sounds great that some BTB have such a good experience. My experience with MDW has been an extremely poor one though.
My husband and I also signed a package with MDW for S$3688. We were very attracted to the photography then though all the gowns were OTR and there was no MTM. This was a local package with 30 poses included.

What was disappointing was the coordinator from MDW failed in her promise to meet our deadlines for photo selection, album layout and finally printing of album, which resulted in the album only being ready 5months after our AD!
We had a tight schedule as both my husband and I worked overseas and it was difficult to find time in Singapore to organise the wedding.

Sadly, we found the coordinator very insincere and full of excuses in all our past interactions.
There were so many incidents where the coordinator was not accommodating, fabricated lies and keeps rejecting me and my husband's requests.

To all BTB, please make sure the contract states clearly everything you want and especially the coordinator is someone whom you feel is sincere.
