hi everyone, i have a swiss business advantage room at swissotel merchant court singapore with breakfast for one from 20 Feb (sun) to 23 Feb (wed), fully paid for 3 nights, hotel allows me to change name. it is a King bed, non smoking room. if a couple is coming, you just need to pay for additional breakfast at S$31++. It has been paid >S$1k, but we are selling at a big discount, do contact me fast !!
Hi to all ex-SMC brides & btb, I need some opinion about the food offered by SMC wedding menu..
Cos my htb's parents are very particular about food and they are concerned that the food was not prepared by a chinese restaurant.
So,was the lunch or dinner reception good???

I signed up during their show last yr but popular dates are being snapped up .. If u wan u got to check with them the date u want izzit still available if yes, go very early to book & nego. For more perks ... But do standby alternative dates if u have.
HX I think most of us took the package during fair.
I guess the norm is during fair there will have more perks.
like Phoebe says have a few dates in mind, cos during fair they do sales at super speed, that time i went there they have a board to state that which date have been taken up so u can decide before discussing.

and apparently was told tt all wkend dinner are already taken up for Oct/Nov/Dec 2011. Am glad I managed to book the wkday dinner though

I booked the date during the wedding show in March last year.. Initially wanted to have it on the 7th May but the ballroom was booked so i'll be having my solemnization on 7th May and wedding dinner on the 12th Nov.
So in the end, which date did u choose?

r u having ur solemnization at SMC as well?? Btw, do u or any BTB hv any concern with just 1 LCD projector? Tried asking for another one but they dun seems to encourage it even when we offer to pay..?!

Does anyone have any recommendation for a 3rd party who can do stage setup? I went down to Merchant Court and really do not like the stage although we have already booked wedding lunch banquet with them. Would like to know how much cost will incurred.
HX told me last yr that they will have a new theme this year, but before she left MC, I checked wth her. She said they are still waiting for management approval ??? which I do not think it will happen... =(

Regarding the 1 LCD projector issue, i do have my concern initially but i guess as i start my planning for my solemnization and my home reno.. i get so busy that i start to disregard the issue..hahahaha I guess it should be ok since many weddings have been held there b4 and they have no problem w having just 1 LCD projector

Hi piggylOve. Good to know that someone else told u too. But not sure when it is launching. Hopefully they can make it soon as we need to decide on the theme then I can let me Jie Meis know abt the colour theme. Btw congrats to ur ROM =)

Hi Jess and Btb, from Wat u gals said looks like it's really possible they will have new theme. Just a matter of time. Mine will be on 9 Oct 2011 luncheon. HX once told me it might be June for the launch....
Btb, personally I really don't like the red backdrop on the stage... It doesn't match with their current themes except oriental, which is a very common theme =p
And as for the projector, we worried abt it too. But we decide one is enough. Since renting of projector will be approx 1k plus the wiring so as to syncro with the current projector and sound system.

Hi all, I am searching for some hotels for our ROM and AD.. Have seen a number of hotels pricing and found Merchant Court price very resonable compare to other hotels we seen...
So I am thinking what's ur opinion?? I am asking for more information like how's the food and service?? is it good??

For wedding lunches, the accommodation will be the Swiss Advantage Room, which from pictures is very small. Are we able to or anyone tried to upgrade the room to that of the Bridal Suite?

Hi andrina, yup I was also thinking they would reserve the suite for people with dinner package, but I don't mind topping up a lil' $ for a bigger room though, hehe. At least the Studio seems much bigger and nicer than the Advantage Room.

Hi all, I just went and meet my new co-ordinator Lidia. She is very helpful and a nice lady =) gald that she will be the one overlooking my wedding. The price for upgrading to the studio at the price of $450/nite. Try to bargain for a cheaper rate if you can=p

There is not much of room for bargaining but u might wat 1 bottle of wine per table or free flow beer?

Thanks Btb... yes we do love the place. in fact, we've been there a few times for other weddings and so far no complaints on the food and service. Bridal suite is gorgeous and huge! Of all the other weddings we've attended at other hotels, SMC still leaves a good impression on us.
As for the weddings themes, I don't see much difference leh. There's still the Oriental, Enchanted Garden, Purple Passion (or something else but is definitely a purple theme), and can't remember the last one cos it didn't leave much impression on me. Hubby said the themes didnt really 'wow' him that much, but I still like the Enchanted Garden theme.

We haven't booked yet. We're still considering and keeping our options open since it'll be an additional $50/table for weddings after 31st March 2012. Need to recalulate our budget first cos there's still the home reno to settle.

anyway prices will always go up every year. anyway we've been informed of the 2012 package (which is 8-course instead of 9) and will be making our decision soon since it'll still be based on the 2011 package.
sigh... hubby has been too busy lately to sit down with me and discuss. Actually he's more fussy than me as I'm ok with anything.
