Auspicious colors is not important for wedding purpose. And to find out your auspicious colors, the whole Bazi will have to be taken into consideration, not just the animal signs alone.

FYI, a date reflected auspicious in the Tong Shu may still be bad for both of you if the date chosen is not compatible wtih both your Bazi.

I've consulted you earlier on my "tricky situation" where I'm trapped between the before & after 3 months of sibling wedding.

I've also noted the 2011 (Rabbit Yr) is not a good year for Groom (Rooster) for marriage. And that the transition date between 2 animal signs is not CNY. It is the Li Chun, which is Lunar 4th/5th Feb every year.

Since Groom sister will be married on 13 Nov 2010(Lunar Oct 8th 2010), the earliest I can get married is 14 Feb 2011 or Lunar Jan 9th 2011??

The above 2 dates has past CNY 2011 but still consider Tiger Year right? Until ard March 8th 2011(Lunar Feb 4th 2011) then it will turned Rabbit Year.

Which means if I can get married in between these 2 dates, it will be ok right?

Pls advise me so that I can solve alot of problems that I'm strucked now. Thanks alot!

Is it true that there is no way to check auspicious dates more than one year away?

Last year around May 2009, me fiance and I approached a fengshui master, asking for auspicious dates for our wedding in Dec 2010. He used electronic tong shu.

Recently my relative bought the tong shu for 2010, and he checked our dates, and told us it is actually a very bad date for marriage.

I am quite confused now. And am not very sure who to believe.

Would you be able to advise me?

The transition date between 2 animal signs is 4th/5th Feb every yr on the English calendar (NOT the lunar calendar)

Hence you might need to "re-calculate" the dates again

The tong shu is out every year around 7th lunar month period...and by then, most hotels will be pretty packed for the following year, esp for weekends dinner dates

It is not true. Date selection using tong shu is not accurate and for mass consumption only. think of it...if tong shu states that this date is a good day,does it mean the whole world is good? In real life, on a tong shu bad day, there are many people earning millions on this day. and on a tong shu good day, there are many going bankrupt on this day too!

tong shu is very generic only and many of the info in the tong shu is inaccuarate. For real date selection methods, we have to use your bazi (birth data) to calculate to ensure that date is specifically good for both of you.. Bazi vs Tong Shu method is just like MTM via Off The Rack gowns

And using Bazi method, i can select dates for ANY year. I've just started to do so for 2012 dates this week.

For your case, this shows that tong shu is not accurate. Coz every publications of tong shu you buy, as well as getting it online, all tell different things! One tong shu says this date good, the other says this date bad

Hope you get my idea..which is one of the reasons why tong shu is inconsistent and not accurate.

I can't advise you who to believe coz i don't know the actual situation. But if you can't change the banquet, it will be hard for you to do anything too if the date turns out to be really bad.

for guo da li, if our auspicious timing is from 1-3pm, does this means we hv to do e exchange of dowry and stuff etc w/in the 2 hrs. As we will be sending our invites personally to relatives' hse with the xi-bing. Can my hubby come to my hse ard 1pm, then we will go to relatives' pl tgt before heading back to my hse again to collect the dowry stuff to his place. Is that ok?

I previously asked about the possibilities of checking for auspicious dates one year away, and you mentioned about the Bazi method being better than the Tong shu method.

However, my relative was able to calculate using our bazi. He said he can use our bazi and refer to the tong shu.

In this case, is it accurate?

It means that your hubby will have to step into your house within the 2 hrs timing to deliver the bridal gifts. There is no "time limit" as to when you must finish it. Delivering the "Xi Bing" to relatives is "free & easy" timing. Not possible to finish everything in 2 hours

Normally i will advise you to avoid getting married in 7th lunar month. However, in Chinese Metaphysics, you can get married in 7th lunar month. Date selection does not take into consideration chinese customs. It is a form of astrology. But as Chinese, we tend to avoid this month unless everyone in both sides of your family etc are ok with it.

This is a general tong shu good date for wedding and don't clash to any of you (clash to Rat). If you looking at only general dates, then this date is ok.

However, i can't tell if it is specifically good for both of you as both your Bazi (birthday and time of birth) is not taken into consideration yet.

It is not that the Bazi method is better than the Tong Shu method. Bazi method is the right and authentic method to select a wedding date that is specifically good for both of you. Tong Shu method is just a general good day only, and does not specifically 'tailored made" for both of you. Hence if the date and Bazi is not compatible, it is still considered a bad day, no matter what the tong shu says.

I have no idea how your relative did it, hence tobe fair to him, i cannot comment anything. However, if you use Bazi to select, then why do you need the tong shu for?

Only 12th Feb does not clash to anyone. The rest all clashes to you or your parents.

Also i got a friend who is a rooster (bride) marrying a pig (groom), since 2011 is not a good year, is 2010 ok or is it really better to wait till 2012?
 
Hi Master Tong, For delivering on new bed/mattress, do we need to follow the auspicious date? I am born in the year of dog (1982) and my hubby is in the year of monkey (1980). is 25th to 27th Nov a gd day to deliver it??

For 1st Jan 2011, that is a general tong shu good day. It clash to Dog (which is none of you). You can use this date if you are only looking at general dates only.

Only 17 Nov 2010 is a general tong shu good date and don't clash to any of you.

For Jan 2011, here are some general dates you can use:

- 06/01, 14/01, 18/01, 26/01, 30/01

Note that Bazi is not taken into consideration yet.Hope this helps

2-jul 2011 //Does not clash to anyone
7-jul 2011 //Clash to Snake. Cannot use.

Hence only 2 July does not clash to anyone. However, to know if it is a general tong shu good date, we have to wait for the tong shu to be out in July/Aug period.

For your friend, 2012 will be better. 2011 is Rabbit yr, and will clash to Rooster, hence not a good yr for marriage.

10 Oct 2010 is by default not an ideal date for wedding (despite the nice nos). I won't advise my clients to use this date. Choose other dates if possible

ROM is more important than Customary. So yes,it is necessary to pick a good date for ROM than for Customary wedding. ROM is the date both of you become husband and wife, not customary. Customary is just tea ceremony, fetch the bride and banquet. This is our Chinese customs only. In real life, after your ROM, both of you are already husband and wife, regardless if you have a customary wedding or not.

hope you can help us out here with our confusion.
what are the info required in getting an auspicious date?
we got a 29 oct 2010 by using only bride and groom's date of birth and time (bride: goat groom: rooster)

then another master actually advised us that october is not a month to get married at all (ROM and customary together) as it is an odd number month in the lunar new year.

now this master uses our date of birth and parent's date of birth but he didnt use our time of birth.

pls advise on what is goin on. and if 29 october is still suitable for us?

bride's parents: dad - goat /mum - pig
groom's parents: dad - rooster /mum - tiger
