Really admire you David, you have the patience to answer repeated questions over and over again. If I were you, I would surely be frustrated when the answers are seemingly just a few posts away. Kudos to you.

16/05/2010 clashes to Monkey, which is you, so not advisable to use.

I will not know or be able to select general Tong Shu auspicious date for wedding for 2010 yet as the Tong Shu will only be out in July/Aug period. Right now, the only way and also the right and accurate way of doing it will be using Bazi to select dates. FYI, a date reflected auspicious in the Tong Shu may still be bad for both of you if the date chosen is not compatible wtih both your Bazi.

Hi Princess,

If you are getting married, 3 months before and after your own wedding, you are not suppose to attend another person's wedding, funeral, wakes, or child birth. Therefore, being brother is also impossible since they are not suppose to go to each other's wedding

Hi alvern,

This day clashes to Rooster,which is your dad, so not advisable to use.

For general Tong Shu dates in Nov, you might want to try 17/11/09 or 29/11/09

Hi Verine,

What range of months you are looking at?

For time of birth, if you are doing wedding dates selection using Bazi, then yes I will need that. It will be more accurate and precise as i will need to plot out your Bazi chart.

For general tong shu auspicious dates, only the animal sign is needed, and this is not accurate as an auspicious date indicated in the tong shu might be incompatible with your Bazi and hence render it inauspicious.

Hi Kladen,

The ROM date will be more impt as this is the day both of you become legally husband and wife. However, since wedding is such a major event in a person's life, we as Chinese, will want to choose auspicious dates for all wedding related activities including AD, Guo Da Li and An Chuan.

Is your ROM and Wedding Dinner on the same day?

pp, 20/5/2010 is not a good day for wedding. It can be good if it is compatible with your bazi, but in general terms, it is not.

26/12/09 will clash with Pig, so not advisable to use.

21/3/2010 will clash with Rat, so not advisable to use as well.

My selected wedding day is 30 Sep 2009.Is it true that we must avoid attending other's wedding, funeral, full month etc. a few months before and after my wedding? If so, what is the duration? Is this aplicable for close family members as well? My 2 sisters are pregnant now and will give birth in June and Aug respectively. Do i have to avoid their baby full month and can they attend my wedding?

I am born in the year of rat, and my husband is dragon.
My sisters are born in the year of pig and monkey.

Hi Kay,

Yes you are right. Normally 3 months before & after your own wedding, you are not suppose to attend other's wedding, funerals, wakes, or child birth.

Yes it applies to everyone, including your siblings. You will need to avoid their baby full month.

Strictly speaking, this is not part of Chinese Metaphysics. This is our Chinese belief. Nevertheless, it is still advisable to follow since it is easy and within our means to do so (and i am sure your sisters will understand too).

this date is a general good date for wedding and it doesn't clash to any of you. Therefore, if you are after only general good dates, this date can be used.

2/10 - Clashes to rabbit. Not advisable to use
9/10 - Bad day for wedding and all important activities.
16/10 - Not a good day for wedding
23/10 - Very good day but clashes to Rat (bride). Not advisable to use
30/10 - Not a general Tong Shu auspicious date for wedding

So is it the full month celebration to avoid or i cannot see them until 3 month after my wedding?

Because they might be doing their confinement in my house so its rather hard to avoid unless i move out.

And also, it's fine for them to attend my wedding since its them attending mine and not me attending their celebration?

Hi Verine,

For general auspicious dates, the Tong Shu is used. But these are very general dates only. It cannot be that a date good for marriage is good for everybody in this world. That is too simplistic.

The correct and authentic method of date selection is using Bazi to select dates. Using Bazi means the date selected must be compatible with both your Bazi, only then can we truly qualify a date to be auspicious. Therefore, a good date in the Tong Shu can still be considered inauspicious if it is not compatible with your Bazi.

Hope this clears your doubts ;)
 
Hi Joseph,

That is a taboo or Chinese belief. Feng Shui or Date selection has nothing to do with Chinese beliefs or culture. In fact, Qing Ming and 7th lunar month can be used for marriage by selecting an auspicious date. But it is our Chinese beliefs or traditions that says no no we cannot use this date.
