Hi hui ting

It is the Chinese Almanac that provides the general good dates for the next yr. but those r very generic date that one size fits all, not accurate. To be accurate, the calculations have to go by bazi, which is person's birthday and time of birth.

The tong Shu for 2014 is not it yet. Will be out maybe next month so if you are only looking at general dates, you can post here again next mth

The tong Shu for 2014 will only be out hopefully in sept next mth, so can't check now if you only want general dates. The only way is using bazi to select, which is the accurate method, not tong Shu , as that is for mass consumption only

Yes the hotel will be fully booked. That's why i need to know the dates that are possible. is there another way to check it? Im thinking 3 may 2015 or 10 may 2015 for the wedding.

Hi Master Tong,

Just wondering If our parents will affect the year We are getting married? For example, my mom and my mother in law are both born in the year of rat and my husband and I are planning to hold our customary in 2014. I understand that rat will clash with horse, hence wondering will this affect us? My husband is born in the rabbit and I am born in the year of dragon. Thanks.

Hi Master Tong,

In a dilemma here.. :( My Master have gave us an auspicious date for my wedding which is on 1st June 2014 and we have settled the hotel already but my paternal grandma just passed away few days ago and the master at my grandma's wake told us that either to get married within 100 days or 3 yrs later. 100 days is too rush for us and 3 yrs is too long for us as we have already dated for 5 years now. However the master who gave us the date say its ok unless its direct family member.. *touch wood... Please advise if we should go frwd to hold this wedding? I have told my grandma about this and she knows about this. Please advise.

Firstly, me n the groom are born in the year of snake.
Our parents and siblings are born in all zodiac animals except rat and horse.
I have chosen to wed on 22 Nov 2014. Is that a good day for us?

Secondly, I'm the bride and was wondering when and how long exactly does my elder brother (rabbit) has to hide on my customary wedding day?
I hope you can provide some advice, thank you!

Please let me know if the 3 dates above are ok? i read somewhere that 22 Nov 2014 are not good for rabbits? Thanks much!

Hi m1_shell

The only way is using bazi to select if you don't want to wait for tong Shu. Anyway , tong Shu is inaccurate as those are generic dates only. For bazi selection of dates, I do charge for it as it is part of my consultation services.

24th oct to 21st nov is leap month, and Chinese usually don't hold wedding this month.

20th is not a good date for wedding purpose.

Yes usually within 100 days or 1 year later (some practice 3 yrs). If you ask me, 1 yr will suffice as this is a respect for the deceased. 3 yrs is too long as not practical. Touch wood, what if after 3 yrs, another elderly pass away??

That day clashes to rabbit, hence so long as both of you and all your parents are not rabbit will do. Good day or not will have to wait till tong Shu is out.

For those who are rabbit, they just have to hide till the groom or bride step into respective house, then they can come out. And all xiong di jie Mei, open car door boy and Mei Po etc cannot be rabbits

22/11 nov clashes to rabbit

27th dec is in the 岁破 month, meaning the month clash the year, not a good month for wedding

We are looking at 6 sep 2014 for solemnization , 5 oct or 26 oct 2014 for our chinese wedding.

Please kindly advise if it 2014 and the dates above are good? Our details are:
Groom: 20 may 1981 (rooster)
Bride: 2 July 1985 (ox)
Groom's parents: both dragon
Bride's parents: Goat & Monkey
