That is a super bad date (Po Ri). the tong shu for 2014 will only be out next yr Aug, so if you are looking at only general tong shu dates, can only advise after next yr Aug. right now only way is using bazi to select.

Usually by time tong shu is out, most good weekend dates for hotel will be gone..

Usually I year will do, as a respect for the deceased. 3 yrs is bit too long as not practical (esp if all 4 grandparents are still ard, if u get what I mean..). So ultimately it still depends on your family belief

8th is not a good date. 1st March doesnt clash to any of you, hence potentially a good date but can only wait till tong shu is out then can check if it is general good date or not. Hope this helps

As groom is born Pig yr, 2013 snake yr (after 4th feb 2013) is a bad yr for ROM/wedding. And 2/2 is a Po Ri, super bad day. Hence Jan ok?

But the only jan weekend (latest i can go before 4th feb) will be 19th Jan. Else if weekdays, then latest will be 31st Jan.

May I know what is the significance of an chuang? Why must we an chuang? Can we skip this?
And may I know how the an chuang date and timing is calculated? Does it need to be based on bazi like the wedding date? Or can I just look at the calendar and see which date is good for an chuang and an chuang at any hr of the day?

It is to bless the couple with many children. It is our chinese custom, hence if you ask me, so long as we are chinese, we should do it since this is our traditional custom. If you dont want to do it, it is really up to you to decide

there are 2 ways to do it. By bazi and by tong shu, same as wedding date

From what I know the 2014 Tong Shu will only be out after Jul/Aug 2013.

You got to check using Bazi.

You mention 6th Sept 13 & the month of Nov 13 is not good for wedding. My gf have her bazi calculate by 2 different shifu but they both give her 6th Sept for wedding date. Why is that so? I have mine calculated & I got my date at 13th Nov which you mention that the month is not good for wedding. I am placing the deposit for the wedding dinner this week so should I have it recalculated again?
 
Hi Elysia

I am referring to general tong Shu dates. If you have the dates calculated using bazi, it overrides tong Shu n that day may b good for you. So there is no need to check for any general dates anymore.

For Nov, that month clash with the year, not a good month. I suggest other months if possible.

And 6th sept is a pig day, clashes with snake yr. hence this date we call a year breaker day. Generally not a gd day...

Is it true that if my FH's paternal grandparent pass away, we are to either get married within 100 days or only do so after 3 years?

Or is it up to the family or of a certain ethnic group only?

If so, does ROM count?

Yes it is true. But most practice 1 year now as 3 years is too long and most of time, not practical. It is our Chinese belief/culture to do so, as a respect for the deceased. Usually both ROM and Customary (basically red events)

- 08/09, 09/09, 12/09, 14/09, 20/09, 21/09, 25/09, 06/10, 19/10, 28/10,

** note that these are general tong Shu dates only and a good date in the tong Shu can still be deemed as inauspicious for the couple if the date and e couple's bazi are not compatible**

The tong shu for 2014 is not out yet. Will only be out in Aug this year. The only way to select now will be using Bazi to select, but i do charge for it as it is part of my consultation service, else will be unfair to my paying clients

Not sure if you could advise. Is it true that if I were to hold my wedding before my friend's she is not able to attend mine unless it's more than 100 days away i.e 'red events' will clash?

How about Bai Shi attending 'red events'?

Yes correct. Applies for both red and white events. 100 days before and after your wedding, cannot attend other's wedding, wakes and baby shower/child birth

** Note that these r general tong shu good dates only. Couple's bazi is not taken into consideration and the dates can still turn out to be inauspicious if the date and bazi are not compatible **

The year we born fan tai shui in snake year and zodiac clash with our parent, is there anyway to "counter" it? If we strictly want to proceed in this year?

If your zodiac clash with the year, then ideally u should not get married that yr. you cannot counter it. If no choice, the best will b to rom first in a gd yr n customary in that yr. at least u are officially married in a better yr
