Hi chilli-in-ketchup & lin,
The short march-in wasn't an issue for us. Infact, we hardly notice the 'length' of aisle that night. On actual day, our walking speed is much slower as the gowns that we are wearing will slow us down automatically. I was somehow glad that the aisle wasn't too long cause if its 2 or 3 times that distance, we will probably take more than 'a song time' to reach the stage and cut the cake.
I didnt really notice how long we took to walk up the stage as we engaged a wedding singer who sang our march-in song. The banquet manager will only let us in after the song started, that is the lyric came on, not music (he will peep from outside). But previously our coordinator told us that it takes around the time of 1 song to go up and cut the cake (still got to consider the time spent when we slow down for friends & relatives to throw the petals, the time spent on climbing the stair to the stage etc). Hee..
Another thing we like about Vanda was.. the tables were arranged in a manner, the tables weren't placed too far from the stage and the aisle. So everyone is able to see us march-in though they weren't seated at the tables next to the aisle. I been to some wedding dinners with high ceilings and long aisle, but most of the tables are placed away from the stage and aisle. And the guests seated away from the aisle, hardly see or know what going on.
After our dinner, we had some guests who told us that Vanda is quite different from those usual ballroom that they went to. Everyone like the 'open' concept for the recept area and yet private feel when they return to the ballroom. All these remarks made us feel good. Hee..
Guess we made the right choice in deciding our dinner venue @ Vanda.
