Margaret Brides

Hi Ng HL

Hmm... yar, it's a little like that. But for me, i am very clear of what I want for the bodice so no problem. But for the bottom, i didn't really liked any of the 3 proposals she had. So in the end, i flipped through the magazines and passed the design i liked to her. Margaret would then advise if suitable and make the necessary adjustments to the design. I also had the feeling that I am doing the thinking for her... but I supposed it's better this way too as I will be getting exactly the gown I wanted

Thanks Tougei...I will also do my own research and show her what I like...

Based on the sketches she showed me, I cant really imagine what the gown will look like in the end...I guess its more of showing her actual pictures and confirming it.

hi all,u gals r more lucky than me s i have a bad experience with Margaret Brides. I went there to ordered a ring pillow from them & the lady boss's assistant make a mistake s she thought the ring pillow plus embroidery will be cost $100 and so we thought s well & i have paid $50 of deposit. After half an hour later, the lasy boss called & said her assistant had made a mistake regarding bout the price. The embroidery should cost $100 exclude the ring pillow so total should be $158. I find it 2 ex & expect her 2 refund me the $ by cheque but her reply is since i dont want her service anymore i should go down personally 2 get back my $ if not tats it. Her service really upset me.

Hi, I'm on the brink of signing with Margaret. A few reasons I'm choosing her: 1. She is not pushy, unlike some of the other BS around, which can be scary and irritating. 2. Her studio is beautiful, I love the all-white get-up, makes me feel like a princess on a pedestal-impt since you'll be there many times over the next few months. 3. I liked her frankness. She can come across as a little stand-offish, but I actually liked it, cos it meant she won't try to bullshit me.
Agree that the prices are a little steep as compared to some other BS, but I'm willing to pay for quality and someone I'm comfortable with.
I'm not using lace though, I'm going for Indian silk. Going in a little blind cos she doesn't really have many Indian silk gowns. She seems to have a nice vision of what I want. Cross fingers!!!

hi all, i am a margaretbrides. Ya one of the reason why I have signed up with Margaret is also becos of her shop's deco. I believe the deco reflects the working attitude of the person as well.I have been to other bridal shops, look like market place. Gowns were old and yellowish with beads dangling. I even have to queue up to try a gown. It was terrible. This is also the reason why I choose designer's wedding gown to those one stop bridal shop. Margaret only serves one customer at one time, I can feel the personal touch in her though sometimes I find her gan chiong type but she is v efficient.

future bridezilla, mine is lace back gown though i like the halter neck gown that she has advertised in the mag. oh there will be 3 fitting before your photo shoot. Final fitting will be a week before your AD. I already had my photo shoot. And waiting for my AD. hehehe. Enjoy your gown fitting process. Cheers.

hi girls,

I wanted Kenneth Lee as my MUA, but he is not available on my wedding date. Can i find out if anyone has their make up done by other MUAs who ties up with Margaret ? Appreciate if you can share your photos with me. Thanks

Hi Moo....

For mine, Margaret recommended Sharon Tan to me. I find her not bad, she does my ROM make up... I looked very natural... And plus, i m comfortable with her..

Hmm... Hapict, it depends on the package....

Most of the thing, her package is for rental if u want to buy think got to pay extra.

Hi all

I have also signed up with Margaret...waiting to go for my fitting..v excited about how the gown will look = )

btw, I get to keep my gown and I intend to sell it after my wedding in Dec...am wondering whether any brides would be interested.

Hi gals, do you all know whether MB has a OTR package? How much is that? I went down last month targeting the $5k MTM package, but now on hindsight the OTR might be more suitable for me as my AD wld likely be too near for her to accept a MTM order from me. And I like one of her gowns that I tried when I went down, so was thinking if the OTR is reasonable, can considering taking a OTR package instead.

hi mintee

I think Margaret may have OTR. Why not call her to check? BTW, when is your AD ? I think Margaret only needs about 2 months to produce a gown...but then again, i am not sure what her workload is like now.

hi moomoocow, Margaret told me her schedule very full and my AD (not fixed yet) cld be too short a notice for her to MTM. That's why I've dropped the idea of MTM from her and considering OTR now.

didn't call cos they are not opened (for business) when I'm free to call. either too early or too late.

Hi Sharon,

Her package is mixed and match one.

Basic price of the EG is $1,000
WG => depends on which one you choose
MUA => $450
Flowers => $350
Men's suit => $400

Other details, u got to check with her. Coz I rent the wedding gown, took up the MUA, flowers & Photography with her.

I had already email her to ask for the packages...bt stil no reply yet...Hopefully I'll get her mail soon!

Hi Sharon,

No problem. I just hope the prices dun change so much coz they were quoted to me early this yr.

Y dun u go down to her place and check it out urself? Coz she s not those pushy type like some bridal shops in Tg Pagar.

Anyway, when i went for my gown alteration last Sunday, she was limping coz she hurt her right foot.

Hope this helps.

Hi Girls,
I am also a MB. My wedding was 3 months ago and I am very very pleased with what MB did.
The gowns were beautiful... gorgeous, the make up how I wanted, the flowers were just perfect... they are very good specially the car deco... and Benny is simply a professional...love his candid shoots. I am not tired of looking at the pictures.

This is what i paid:
WG + EG: 2500
Flowers 250 (no photostudio bouquet)
Make up 350(no photostudio)
Photography 2300 (only actual day)

I highly recommend Margaret, greenpoint flowers, Sharon Tan (MUA)and Benny.

Hope this help

Hi Sharon,

Dun overstress urself on this lah. Just a piece of advice, when u check out the bridal salons, please dun go with the husband/future husband.

1. Got the excuse to siam when the sales ppl gets too pushy.

2. Generally MEN DUN LIKE such shopping and they get restless unless they really enjoy the process.(Speaking from my own experience)

Abt BV, I heard from an accquaintance that the boss quite attitude, she treat ppl differently depending on the couple's profession & earning power.

hey kaye... I gt e same feeling abt bv after seeing e reviews... of cos there is always gd n bad abt a bs... bt if its bcos judging u of ur statues den its quite unforgivable lorz... I jus brought a We**ing Instyle mag n there is lots of lacy gowns in it...mayb u gals wanna buy one copy... starting to love lacy even more... keekee!
I think I might b one of e more lucky gal as my hubby is one in a thousand guy dat likes to shop... n we enjoy doing everything together... so its nt soo much a problem for me...

Hi Sharon,

U re lucky that you have a husband that loves to shop! I like lace coz i find them romantic, womanly & versatile. Since, it has been around for ages, its a classic too.... I wish that I could afford a full laced gown....

So, how s the outcome of your bridal shopping?

Hallo Happywife!

Hehe... coz both of us are customers of Margaret & Benny mah...

I doubt i have the same venue as you!

My venue for wedding is at Noble House on 27 Jan 07.

What abt yours?

hei ladies,

heyo...

i'm getting married in sept 07 and getting a bit stressed over BGs coz i have NOT started on anything! o_O

surfed by MB and lurve lurve her designs. i;m looking for something in duchess satin. any comments on how her satin gowns are like? saw u gals commenting on her lace gowns. but im not quite a fan of lace :p

My wedding was just over in October. =)

I now have a full french chantilly lace wedding gown from Margaret Brides to sell, if anyone is keen. It's as good as new and very, very gorgeous.

It's a bustier gown with sweetheart neckline and a see-through lace back. It's full french lace from top to toe, with quite a long train.

I MTM it with Margaret for $3,500. Am willing to let go at a much cheaper price at $2,000. Price negotiable.

Those who dream of wearing a full french lace gown that's so nice, don't think you can get cheaper than this anywhere, so you might want to consider.

Will upload pictures once ready. =)

hi phyllis

my wedding has just over last, i used kelly, she is very good, at first i thought was too heavy on me cos i dont do make up often, but it just turned out great during photos & on my wedding day, everyone was praising non stop about my makeup & hairdo.. & not forgeting margaret`s designs..

i love my lace gown, margaret designed a full chantilly lace gown with slightly puffy skirt for me, it costs S$6800 to keep, my hubby insisted that i should keep my Wedding gown.

my mum & five of my bridesmaids love to come along with me whenever i went for fittings cos they found margaret`s shop is so nice & comfortable & they are never sick of helping me to dress up of course with margaret`s help in the fitting room. we had alot of fun actually spending time with her.. i will recommend margaret if any brides love lace or i think simple clean cut gown too is her speciality... cos in her shop, i saw many clean gowns without laces & they are georgous too but i prefer the more lacy one...

i have no regret at all in taking whatever margaret has recommeded me.. like kelly for makeup/hairdo, greenpoint flowers for flowers oh yes & my hubby`s suit from oxford tailor.
