Hi Samantha,

Sorry for late reply, have been so busy with work, wedding prep and moving house!

I have already gone for my trial make-up with Kelly and even the PS! I like her alot. She's very nice and also her make-up. My FH likes it too. I have no regrets using her.

Both my bridal and evening gown are half laced. I love them alot and I'm glad that I chose Margaret Brides though she's pricier than most places. For all BTBs who love lace, I highly recommend Margaret.

Hi Samantha

I would really appreciate if you could send me some of your pics because I'm a MB bride too and she's recommended Kelly to me. I'm tempted to pay a bit more to engage Kenneth instead but Margaret reassured me that Kelly's good enough. Am still hesitant.

Would be good to see your make-up and especially hair-do as reference.

Thanks so much!!

walktheman,

Have you gone down to Margaret's yet? You should. If you would like to see photos, you should just pick up the latest copy of StyleWeddings or HerWorld Brides. There are a number of her gowns in full preview. They'll look as good on your FW as they do on the models because Margaret's tailoring skills are impeccable.

She has quite a good collection of OTR gowns. The German lace ones are very affordable to rent, in my opinion, if you consider her skills.

It's not true that she's good only for lace gowns. My gown would be full satin and with minimal lace details. And be prepared to top up for French lace.

Unfortunately my gown is in the process of being made. Can't help you with photo reference. The mag photos will show her style.

Good luck!

Hi, I just called in to enquire them about their gown and felt really strongly to have my feedback in there.

There is NO doubt that their dresses and design are really gorgeous. However I find the person attending to my call is rather snappy and short.

In the end, she kind of 'entertain' me with their high prices gown and 'take-it or leave it attitude. Sigh.

Hi Miss Lala,

You are not alone. I called them yesterday and got a similar attitude. Hope you will end up someone pleasant at the end of your bridal shopping. All the best...

Margaret's package is sort of tailored to what you need and what you don't need. So when I went down, she would sit with you and find out what you want. She would then scribble it on her flyer with her price. My package includes very little things but I think the all in package including photos but excluding rental of car would start from 5K.
But yes, she doesn't sound very approachable on the phone, but generally quite a nice person when you meet her. Not the friendliest but definitely not most impolite. I went down twice, seriously considering her. She uses very good materials. Her silks are of very fine quality.Different from the other bridal places I've checked out

Hi Jules,

You are right, when I went down to meet her, I find that she is a nice person. And yes, her gowns are of high quality. Very simple yet classy. I haven't decided whether to take her on. Like yourself, I only need very little things in the package. Which other bridal place might you consider? I'm also considering Silhouette which also allows for a mix-and-match of the items you require in the package.

Hi monkeymffin,

U got just tell Margaret what u want. In my case, my wedding was in Jan 07, she actually just provides the gown. The rest of the stuff like car, flowers, PS etc are recommended by her and at a discounted price.

Hi Monkeymuffin,

She was on my shortlist, am still deciding. Can you believe that I've seen more than 10 designers?? Most of the designers allow you to mix and match not just these 2. I did checkout Silhouette but decided not to take them on in the end. I'll most probably take on Silverlining because there's this photographer that I really like that gives me a 5% off if I am from Silverlining.

thanks kaye,
I told Margaret what I wanted. she quoted me a price. only drawback was tt she works with rather pricey MUA. when i din require evening makeup, she could only deduct $50. furthermore, i'm having a church wedding and the florist, Greenpoint, Margaret's working with, is pricey, too! I think if i get Greenpoint to do up my church decor, it's gonna burst my budget for sure.

Jules, which photographer you like with Silverlining? i'm actually thinking of using Photolanguage tt ties up with Margaret. Any
feedback?

For me, Silhouette and MB are both nice pple to work with. If the florist and photographer can tie in nicely, will be perfect.

Hey Monkeymuffin, I like tri-angles... And I get a 5% off! Heard Photolanguage is not too bad... Margaret will be tying up with this photographer called Jon Keng, I think their package details are not out yet, but I was considering Jon Keng as well. As for florist, you don't hv to use Margert's one. You can use anybody else. All u need is to mix and match 3 items to make up a package. So can be without florist and MUA. WG, EG and Suit? That's a package also.

Thanks jules,

havent seen tri-angles' work before. but went to check out their website jus now, looks like they've shot quite a no of celeb!

hee, you are right abt mix and match any 2 other svs. jus tt me no need for EG coz no banquet and man's suit actually thinking of tailor-making elsewhere. tt's y i'm so restricted.

any idea which other BS tri-angles tie up with, other than Silverlining?

I find that when I called them to enquire, they weren't very friendly (probably they are busy), but once you are there, Margaret is attentive and listens to what you like or dont like and offers constructive advice and criticism. I love her gowns very much. I have picked out a $2.8k french lace OTR gown. Many people said its over priced because its OTR and its a rental but its very beautiful and vintage looking. I love it!!

It's located at Jalan Tuakong, turn left after you see Killiney Kopitiam at Siglap. It's one of the white terrace houses on your left.

Margaret's stuffs are really of good quality. She might not sound v friendly over the phone but when you meet her in person, she's really attentive, professional and easy to talk to. Someone you know you can trust, which is very impt. So far my design sessions w her were great...she gave really good advice. Just attended an ex-col's wedding...she's a Margaret's bride too and both her white gown and evening gown looked really classy and elegant. Many guests were singing praises about them...and I secretly felt so glad I'm a Margaret's Bride too

Hi all Margaret Brides,

I'd like to know if I rent a WG from MB, will she allow me to use that for my pre-wedding outdoor shoot since I may dirty it with the beach et al? Or will it be solely used for my AD?

Can anyone enlighten me on that?

Thanks!

Hi Monkey Muffin, really, they've shot a lot of celebs?? I thought it was just Jamie and Glenn's wedding. I'm not sure what bridal studios they sign up with but you can ask them if they work with Tri Angles and if they do, they will tell u how much it is. Like Silhouette does work with them but its not advertised explicitly. I asked and they told me that it'll cost a bit more for them but they do work with Tri Angles.
By the way, sorry for my late reply.

Hi bianchibicicletta,

Been to Margaret Brides once, think she mentioned that you can use your actual WG during the pre-wedding outdoor shoot. Can also dry clean it for about $60 before your AD.

Just wondering if anyone has MTM EG with Margaret before and can share their experience? Thanks!

Hi,

I've narrowed down my search for bridal gown to either Margaret or Dang Bridal.

Seems to me that to have "to die for" gowns from Margaret, Top up amounts are necessary, even for over the rack gowns.

Has anyone taken their over the rack gowns without any top ups? I think they look too simple. Anyone has anything to share?

Also has anyone taken Margaret's over the rack evening gowns?

Somehow I feel that if I were to go for over the rack gowns, Dang would be a better choice.

Hi all MB,

I'm currently trying to decide between her and another BS. I really love lace, and her simple and elegant WGs. But I'm a bit worried about her MTM EG designs as I did not see many on display (prob because most MTM EG are to keep).

I would most prob like to have a CS for my EG and am wondering if anyone has done one with her? Did you like it?

Thanks!
