I signed up at the bridal show too.. i am also a Jan'08 bride. i ahvent really thot of which theme to take.. but i think oriental service is quite good, food is quite nice... at least most of my friends who went for a wedding dinner in oriental has good comments abt the service and food.. so that's pretty encouraging...

She didn't reply my email after 1 wk & I fwd to her again then she reply say never receive. And I wonder why my email tracking said it has been read. So now I'm not sure if I can trust Oriental with my wedding....

hi Ahbao....i didn't have Bethany as a coordinator..but i had my share of frustrations in email n replies with them. But i've already signed up with them n having my wedding in oct 07. They are absolutely terrible at replies. in fact, my first experience was thru their main email system. I never got a reply thus i gave them a miss. In the end, i thought i should give it a last shot n had to call them up to chase for replies. If u read thru the thread, u will see elaboration of my experiences. Quite worryin if u ask mi..however, the manager now seem to be more on top of things....i email him, he will call mi back. but the coordinator..well i've yet to hear her voice or seen her!Haha

I am a BTB and have signed up for my wedding with The Oriental in March 08.I must say my FH and I am very impressed by the service rendered by the Wedding Sales team during the Wedding Fair. I was actually recommended by a few friends to hold my wedding there..I was reluctant at first..But my doubts were certainly assured when I met Bethany. Not only were her response prompt but it was her friendly personality that made me and my fiance choose the hotel as the AD venue. That was why I was quite shocked when I heard this feedback.

They were fast in their reply with attachment of quotation when I emailed to their main email system. It's only the problem of making an appointment to view the site.
As I couldn't reach her on phone, I left a message with her colleague & also a voicemail with my contact number & sent an email stating my hp number too. Then she replied my email saying my hp number was muffled in the voicemail. Can't she call if she saw the email? Not very sincere...
Then now the incident of claiming she didn't receive my email when my tracking system states it has been read the next morning after I sent it. Either my outlook got problem or someone not honest!

And i hope my coming meeting with Bethany will be as good as snoop's!
i guess it's heng sway though i've heard from insiders that they are indeed one of the slower ones in terms of reply n followups. they dont even drop u a note after the first meeting to followup on what was discussed!...other hotels do that...it is no doubt a nice plc..hopefully they dont screw up anything.
Ahbao maybe you can consider asking for Sandy? I love that girl, she's always very prompt in replying my emails and her follow up is great.

wahhh..kentia!..the pix are out already? now i'm really pissed la. coz i requested for it from the manager previously. My hubby din go for the show and he is overseas thus i'd like to fwd it to him. he said it will be available in 2wks n will fwd to mi then. i left that aside n waited but till now no news! i just emailed Sandy to have the pic...i hope they will forward to me n reply me. Dont understand why are they so forgetful in my case!..am i not an important customer?!grrrr..wait till my wedding day is over, they are so gonna get a complain from me n fellow industry guests!Grrrr

Ice.. yea.. I saw the Dream theme and I was like.. wah.. so black. It looks much nicer in real life. Told Sandy to let me know when there's weddings with the new themes so that I can go down to have a look.

Actually my coordinator is yiwen but bethany have served me too. Tink she is alrite as well. Although they may a bit slow in replying but they are so obliging. My gf just signed up with swissotel, its so hard to talk to them and very hard to negiotiate.........
Yiwen told me although the themes can't be mixed, I can choose to use another theme for the reception area. Perhaps you gals would like to check with your respective coordinators??

Finally met up with Bethany....and I must say we were impressed! She's polite & professional, knows her products well, gave many suggestions & answered all questions we had in mind before we even asked. On the same day after the meeting, she emailed me the photos of the new themes & recap of meeting. Very efficient!
After the initial frustration & doubts about their sincerity & efficiency, I'm won over by her now. Going to sign up with Oriental after all! (^-^) I'm gona take the Garden Suite with garden theme. Anyone doing the same?

Xi would be the safest if your folks are traditional.
I saw the pic of the red n black before but not the real setup and it looks pretty nice in the picture except for the table centre piece which I don't really like. Have you asked Mark? I talked to him during the bridal fair and he said shouldn't be a problem using back old themes although Sandy told me can't use back *shrugs*

Ah Bao - i'm having the red theme in the Garden Suite. Don't know if the redness suits the room but i'm in love with chinoiserie, especially since i'm having a mixed-race wedding. Even thinking of getting my own wedding favours to suit the theme.

Not sure if the red theme is suitable for the earthy color of the room, but I guess when everything's set up it should look alright.

Ah Bao, ya i love sunflowers too, when we step into the room with the garden theme, we find it so refreshing and unique.However, we feel that the garden theme needs some "outdoor" feel, best to have some sunlight or at least be able to look out into the open space( like the atrium room). I am having mine in the ballroom which is a little dim ( IMO) hence it will not bring out the garden theme. yet to decide on which theme thou.

However, you ve to consider the layout of the room with a mixture of 12/pax and 10/pax tables. too many 12/pax tables may upset the layout and some guests may be left wondering why those "few tables" are bigger. Ice.. heh I'm the opp. Will check again when the time comes closer to choosing the themes. I'm not sure what flowers they used for the centrepiece. Its not roses. Saw it in a few mag, looks tall in the piece, kinda stick out like a sore thumb...
The have 6 feet tables which should be able to fit in 12 pax. But they can't change all the tables to 6 feet. If you are using the grand ballroom and say you have 30 tables, the max they can put is 15 6-feet and 15 5-feet.
Table seating is going to be a nightmare...

I think a good PG is very impt for AD, after all, you spent soooo much on that ONE day, must have a good PG to capture all the best moments cos after that day pass, pictures are all you have for memories.
