jkit, I didn't see other designs, actually I am only looking at pointed toes with at least 3.5 inches heels and the material has to be satin and ivory for the colour. while I was searching for shoes these few weeks, I found many beautiful reasonable price shoes that suitable for wedding, just too bad I don't like open toes heels, or else, I would have bought it earlier.

Chummy and Jkit, I can't reveal much about the perks that has given to us as stated in the contract, we are not allow to. chummy, same goes to yours right? Well, singapore too small, the coordinators do know about this thread and we are discussing about the hotel's perks. But I would say, more or less the same.

Just signed the contract on Saturday. So far everything has been good. Although my Coordinator is a little sticky abt perks, Overall very statisfied with service. Will be contacted again in June to start the follow ups.

Bendi, i am looking around for shoes now. so difficult to find. i believe for the perks, should be more or less the same. but by now, kind of disappointed by the hotel though i like the place. still in waiting mode...=(
 
Oh, I got it at TPY, can't remember which street. not familiar with that area.I think less than $100, i didn't really see the price, hubby signed card. I wait for the bill then i get back to you.k

But do u mean they specifically ask u in the contract not to disclose the perks?

For me I dun have such thing.. in fact if u look at the previous posting all the gals were discussing wat other perks can we get from them.. mayb they r more careful now..

hahaaha...not really just wanna share about packages with others already with oriental or planning Oriental. If you have any interest and wanna share or exchange info. more than welcome.
 
Hello Elise, I liked the service from the coordinators...very willing to listen and never said NO straight away like many other hotels. I felt they tried to understand the situation before replying. Also the refurbished lobby looked so amazing plus the flower decor that the hotel had each time i made my trip there was gorgeous. I liked the idea that the ballroom had a private entrance and the valet parking. I think on the whole i need to feel the warmth from the ppl who are gonna make my wedding happen rite from the start. When i visited Hyatt, Pan Pac (shortlisted) i didnt get that warm feeling. Other hotels just didnt impress me with their ballroom or menu.
 
=) That's nice to hear.. I will be going down somewhere tis week.. Fingers crossed! Heh. In fact, I actually had a very gd impression of Oriental from a wedding banquet which I attended few years back.

Btw, when is your AD and how many night's stay have u got?
 
went down to discuss about my AD color. then i realised that the projector screen is blocking the stage. and when the projector screen goes up after montage, the stage will be empty.... then it will not be romantic as what i expected then =(
 
HI girls !!

i am having my wedding dinner at the Oriental hotel's garden suite on dec 10 2006. Its difficult to ask for extra perks coz we only have 14 or 15 tables.

When they gave you the contract or banquet event order to sign , you need to read all details carefully before signing.
 
hi jkit, sometimes there will be typo errors, so better to read the contracts words by words, guess it happens sometimes. Just inform them and they will revise the contract. Of course, for the revised contract, you also need to read carefully, as mistakes can be found again too !!!

So far, i am happy with the service :-)
 
typo error is not so bad. its better than some hidden fine line prints. =P

Just signed my banquet event order. though there are some issues, but so far so good. =)
 
where will u hold yr dinner? ballroom, atrium suite or garden suite? when is yr AD?

so far, i have not seen thebridal suite coz both times i went there, its occupied. I have chosen the harbourview suite, heard its smaller than the cityview suite but its ok, i think i will be too tired to bother how big the room is after the dinner !!!

I loved Oriental... However, the food tasting was a HUGE turn off... Bad.. Very very bad food!
I am gonna write in cos when I brought it up to the Chef, he said:"I cook so many yrs nobody complain. But never mind I will take note."

Brought it up to Yiwen she said:"I'm sure the chef will settle it."

What bull sh*t is this.. dunno how handle feedbacks n complaints.
 
Serine, thanks for sharing this with all of us, I didn't get to bargain for the food tasting unless I pay $600(can't remember the exact). So glad to find out about this. I will talk to Mark about the food tasting matter again as he knows we didn't wanna spend on this and he said "he will do something about this". Don't feel bad serine, I believe your day will turn out nice and Oriental won't be so stupid to turn so many guests off with their lousy food. Let us know the outcome. Can help to tekan them abit.
 
hi jkit, wow,another 19 days to your big day..:-)everythings done?? i havent even tried on my gown yet !!! will get to do so in 2 weeks time i think...

serine, you r scaring me !!! i didnt go for the food tasting coz i have to pay quite alot to do so , so decided to go without it..heard the food was not bad, perhaps they have changed chef? WE are paying like $1000 per table (include taxes), i believe Oriental will at least live up to its reputation as a 5 star hotel with good food !!!
BY the way, when is your dinner? mine is on dec 10 2006.

if they really serve lousy food on our wedding dinner, must complain to the top management. I will not let the matter rest !!
 
Georgina, yuh 19 days to go, however, i havent even tried my gowns yet!!!! think have to do it this week.

Serine, i have done my food tasting. and the experience was great. the food was fantastic and services were great. was the banquet manager Ricky there on yr food tasting day? He was there during my food tasting, and he gave us a lot of the recommendations on which is good which is not, and he also let us to try out the wine to see if it matches the food. Could it because of the dishes that you chose are not their signature dishes??
 
hi jkit, bet you have to try on your gowns by this week, if theres any alteration to be done, you still have enough time to do so..

the co-ord told me the chef's signature dishes are deep fried items but i cant go for all deep fried food , so i only chose the crispy king prawn and deep fried chicken with cracker...the rest like steam groupa, doudle boiled shark fins, fried HK noodle..hope i chose the correct dishes !!
 
Hi all...

I went to oriental's garden suite for site inspection and was disappointed with the wedding decoe for that day. It was plain simple. Not romantic or cosy at all. Any pics to share re: garden suite decor?? The online pic of the garden suite looked very nice.

Considering garden suite for wedding..Pls advice..

purple, the deco is depends on the color theme that the couple choose. i went for some of the peeking for artrium suit, some of them is nice, some are not. the color, the theme is very important. but i dont have pic for garden suit.
 
Georgina, hopefully i will love my gowns. or else difficult to find a backup gown in 2 weeks time.
if you do not feel safe about yr dishes u choose, i can share my menu with you if you want.

I will be having mine at garden suite, I am quite disappointed at the deco and now I am planning to add more stuff to make it looks better, I am going to spurge on flower for sure, lots of flower!! and I may even bake my cupcakes and have a tower there. Now I am trying to find a space for my cousin to play piano for my match in... I do have some pathetic photos at my blog www.ayoon.blogspot.com
