hi, i luv to nua but i would definitely feel bored if i'll nua ard the whole day w/o doin anything. so i was thiinkin of club med. but it might b abv my budget of $6k. so i was thinkin of mayb a cheaper resort that can provide us with more days there. but i'm afraid tt 3-star resort may nt hv enuff activities or atmosphere to make it fun.

It's too ex to learn diving in Maldives.. a basic open diver course will burn away S$1000 per pax all incl. while to learn in SGP or Malaysia wld cost u only S$450 max, incl the trip itself.
However I think Maldives' instructor seems to be more pro then most of them in SGP. What I suggest is to learn in SGP/Malaysia, then tune up ur skills in Maldives.
The reason why I wanna go back is as followed:-
1)No crowd, unlike Most resort in Malaysia/thailand/bintan
2)high level of service( off course lah.. we pay so much!)
3)The sun/sand/sea is 1st class... Malaysia pale in comparison(except Sipadan's sea, sama sama)
4)somehow, I got much nicer tan then those in Malaysia, and for me and wifey, no peeling.
5)Diving like a king! Malaysia service no fight! In Maldives, all equip are done up and carry by them.. in Malaysia, u hv to DIY and carry up the boat by urself. got fruits and towel after every dive.
6)The feeling of in the middle of no where is great!
7)Oooolalalah... I like the seaplane flight!
8)Those water villa/ beach villa are done up so nicely, not other resort in the world come close! Not even those in Bora bora!
9)No rushing to queue up for buffet kind of rubbish. If u hv been to Redang laguna... it's an ugly scene!
10)4 some Maldives resort(even hitlon beach resort during July 05), the price per room basis is even cheaper than those in Malaysia(go by per pax)... I wld rather save up for air-tickets and fly there!
and really many many more!

btw, theres seaplane in club med as they provide excursions. 1 of it is a 20mins flight which cost clost to US$200 per pax. The other excursion is a 1/2 day thingy where u will visit some other island.

I also worried. I also like to nua. But not for the whole day. My hubby and I decided that Hilton is the best choice. Even though we can afford only the beach villa. Cant push our budget further.
Anyway, we chose Hilton becoz

ya, most likely when i need some follow up sessions as i've already completed my IPL sessions. so i wont have to go again til maybe a couple months later. of coz to do the IPL ala carte is expensive. think its like $300 per session..gulp..

Whoops...didnt noe insurance is included in Club med's package leh...darn! Sighz..such a sotong...i still went to buy insurance from mi insurance agent leh....sobz...waste $$ la! >.<

its subject to individuals but it has worked very well for me (except for some fine growth) and i'm really glad that i did it and wil prob continue to do it as and when necessary. it costs anything frm 1.5K - 3k+ for a few sessions. u mite nt see much results initially but after a few sessions, you start to see the effects. all i can say is that once i've done it, i'm addicted!hahhaha..

Is 5d4n enuff to enjoy the maldivan lifestyle? i'm so afraid tt not long after getting over the beauty of the place then i hv to leave already. so sad. then shortly after coming back hm, i would b having withdrawal symptons. the way u guys taLk abt your maldives' trip makes it so alluring.
i've been dreaming n dreaming of the club med water villa ever since. seems so nice n fun for a honeymoon. but i tink a 7k budget would give us only ard 5d4n there. too short for me to enjoy. haiz.
In fact, i was contemplating on Krabi for maybe a 3d3n stay, then maybe travel to korea for another tour if it fits my budget. But when i was reading this thread, i was so fascinated by posts n the pics that i began reconsidering my honeymoon plans. nevertheless, my options r still open. Either go europe, maldives, eqypt, isreal, turkey, korea, krabi+bangkok/korea ... for my honeymoon in dec.

I think 6D5N Clubmed water villa is still possible for just 7K u know! Their pricing is always kind of staggered(alternating monthly), unlike other Maldivian resort where December is definitely most Ex! You can sent clubmed an email for quotes! I reckon if u choose the cheapest rates during that mth, you might be able to go there for 5 nites with another ard $1K for spending! Alternatively, u can alternate ur villa choices, a few days water villa and rest of the days beach villa. ( beach villa is also kind of nice, you'll hv ur own beach front right at ur door steps!)
You can do some research making use of www.Mal-dives.com
I'm sure with 7K, u can find some other resort which is well within ur budget, can go for more days and not sacrifice any comfort! The sea and sand there in Maldives is superb. Some 3stars and 4stars resort do hv more beautiful coral reefs than those 5stars big boys!
